  1. I've watched the video and can't detect it...?
  2. I could give that a try to be fair, bit of an arse on though eh? 🙄
  3. Have you tried raising / lowering the seat height? Also, use the rake and reach steering wheel to your advantage
  4. Just discovered this issue, same as some others my tyre inflator doesn't reach from the boot to the offside front tyre, bit of a strange decision to leave a 12v socket out of the cab. That and the fact that I have no rear wiper are just crazy oversights IMHO
  5. Google the A82, A83, A85, A816 and the A819. And then tell me to look away slightly 😂
  6. I'm an HGV driver, and start early morning which at this time of year means driving around in the dark for a couple of hours. The amount of berks who rely on this auto dip functionality is a real pain, as (I believe) their headlights don't dip until they detect my beam. Which, on a long straight, isn't until they're quite close to me, meaning for a good few seconds they're heading straight towards me lighting my entire windscreen up with their glare. It's not only dangerous, but can be very painful too. Auto High Beam Assist should be banned by manufacturers world wide. Trust me, I'm no wimp, but you try handling a 42 tonne fully laden truck with trailer on a B road in the rain / mist / fog or even just in the dark, when your entire windscreen is lit up like the face of a torch by some idiot approaching you with their high beam turned on and the glare not only disrupts your vison, but burns at the back of your eyes too 🤬
  7. When I purchased my (used) Octavia the previous owner was still logged on as primary user. As I hadn't yet figured out how to alter that I browsed through all or at least most of the settings in the infotainment system, just to try and get a feel of it. Then, a day or two later, I discovered how to make myself primary user and so I deleted the current profile and made one for myself. Now I have no proof, as I can't actually remember what went missing, but I would swear that once I'd became primary user a number of the options for the settings disappeared. Whether they were purchased options that were only registered to the previous owner's account or not, I don't know... But just wondering if something similar could have possibly happened here?
  8. Depends on what other apps you have open and running, for instance if I'm using navigation via AA, the parking sensors will display as you describe. However, under normal circumstances (as in home screen displayed whilst driving) they'll take up the whole screen
  9. Never tried it but if you open the app itself, is there no option there?
  10. The wet weather seems to play havoc with the KESSY system I find. I'm able to unlock my car without issue but can only lock it using the fob when the weather's really wet, which unfortunately for me it is a lot where I live. There's a thread on here somewhere about it which explains it in detail and also links to a fix, but it's not an easy fix by any stretch of the imagination. It's involves disassembling the door handles and altering them internally. Not something I'm willing to get involved with personally, the fact the video guide is in a foreign language didn't really fill me with confidence if I'm being honest. But it's here on the forum if you want to take a look at it, do a search for KESSY and it should crop up 👍🏼
  11. I traded in a 1.2 litre petrol Nissan Note for my Octavia 1.5 TSI petrol and get better MPG with my Skoda. I live rurally so my driving habits haven't changed, mostly country roads although there are plenty of long stretches where you don't need to change gear that often and I'm averaging around 51mpg. In my Nissan it was around 47mpg The Skoda obviously has loads more pull than the little Nissan did so to say I'm impressed is a bit of an understatement 😁
  12. Yep that's fine for you in your situation, whereas I have no access to a power point where I park my car and don't own a charger. Whatever works best for each individual is obviously the easiest way to do it. My comment was merely to highlight the fact that you can do it without a charger and with the engine running, as in the main post and explanation it suggests you need to have the engine switched off, which isn't true. Just for those of us like me where following the process you used would be impractical 👍🏼🙂
  13. Congrats, however, it's an urban myth that you can't update with the engine running, I did and everything went fine, countless others have too. I was told by a VAG software specialist that it was fine to do so and it is. Just for anyone else reading who thinks they may have to hook up to a charger or something similar...
  14. Not sure how but KESSY appears to be working again now as it should 🤷🏻‍♂️😅
  15. I updated from 1896 straight to 1985, but only after seeking advice from a professional. No idea if you can do so from 1889 but hopefully someone who does know will see your post and be able to help
  16. Perhaps the boot issue could be related to the issue I'm experiencing with KESSY? Both concern hands free methods of opening / closing doors anyway. I wonder if anyone from Skoda ever thinks to try and address these issues? Or is there any way of us reporting them to Skoda, without visiting a dealership..? 🤔
  17. @TheWanderer had quite a few issues with this function I believe, although I'm not sure whether or not the cause was due to upgrading software
  18. I've had 3 OTA updates since upgrading but still the issue is unresolved
  19. Do a factory reset mate, which will involve deleting yourself as primary user. Then when you re-establish that you'll need to go through the procedure where you press buttons on each key so that the car recognises you. I did that, and the first time afterwards KESSY worked as it should, but hasn't since. I can unlock the doors without using the key fob, but can't lock them in the same way...
  20. Yes, but it would depend on your current software version to whether you could update to this version right away or not...
  21. It's available to purchase in the shop for me, at the currently discounted price of £143. Isn't really that much hassle to manually adjust it so won't be bothering at that price personally
  22. Could be what's causing my issue tbh, it's always wet here 😭
  23. Might be worth pointing out that since updating I've had at least 3 OTA app updates, I too did the 1985 update myself. The bugs I'm experiencing aren't debilitating, just mildly irritating
  24. Bugs I've experienced since updating to 1985 are Kessy no longer working (done a factory reset, worked first time immediately afterward but not since) And my navigation map staying on either day mode or night mode, whichever you select manually, as the Auto switch function no longer seems to work 🤷‍♂️
