  1. Hi, Like a few others before me it would seem, I'm a bit confused by the digital servicing set up that came with my Octavia, as opposed to the old fashioned service book with a stamp in it. I do have connect access, and from that I can see that my car's last service took place on 21/07/2024, which was 3 months before I bought the car, however, the mileage didn't increase between the time of the service and me purchasing it. I've done around 9,000 miles in it since, yet when I check the app it's saying that I still have 324 days to run (9,900 miles) until my next inspection & oil change. Could this be right? Apologies, this is the newest vehicle I've ever owned, and with my previous vehicles I'd have them serviced once annually at around 10,000 mile intervals, which to me seemed the norm. I'm just wondering, could it be that the newer vehicle doesn't require as much servicing, and would the app definitely let me know if it did? The health report states everything is fine, can anyone please tell me if the app can be 100% trusted to let me know if things were otherwise?
  2. Must be an issue with lots of new cars. I own an Octavia mk4, but my old man recently got a new Renault Captur, and he suffers the same issue as this, has tried everything. Commenting as I want to come back to this thread at some point to see if you figure anything out that will maybe help him 😄 I use spotify myself through AA
  3. Out of interest, is your car auto or manual? Cos i read that they're quite tough to fit on manual cars, which mine is, but fancied one...
  4. Thanks, but what I'm looking for are more steps than just skirts, I should have made that more clear, my apologies. Appreciate you digging those out for me though👍🏻 As I say I'm not even sure such a thing is available, they're usually only seen on SUV's and the like, just wondered if anyone knew of something compatible... 🤔
  5. Part available here Not sure on procedure though
  6. Hi all, Just wondering if anyone knew if any such thing was available anywhere? Be it official or after market, I've searched high and low but I'm not able to find any real results myself...
  7. I went straight from 1896 to 1985, took advice from a VAG software engineer who said it was fine to do so. I too wondered whether you had to apply updates in increments and he said to do so between 1896 and 1985 was a waste of time. I believe there are some of the older versions of software where you must apply updates in stages, but 1896 to 1985 is completely fine.
  8. I have the same car on the same year, and applied the 1985 update straight from 1896 without issue. Not sure about the macbook thing as I have a laptop with windows
  9. I updated myself straight from 1896 to 1985. Just follow the step by step instructions provided in the download topics carefully and you should be fine. Helps to familiarise yourself with the procedure before going ahead. So long as you follow each step carefully, as explained, then you shouldn't encounter any issues. Hundreds of users here have done the same thing, don't think I've ever encountered a post whereby someone has "bricked" their car, but obviously it is a risk unless you follow correct procedure.
  10. I have a 20-21 Octavia and it has an alarm, I'm in UK.
  11. Would genuinely love to apply a couple of these, however, having read through plenty of posts regarding software issues I'm not keen to start messing about. Would be interesting to hear others thoughts, perhaps those who've applied any of these?
  12. Don't think there is another revision. Sure I read 1985 is the last one
  13. I haven't experienced those issues myself, but from what I've read on here it seems that in cases such as yours the infotainment unit itself needs replacing. If you read through more topics on the subject in this forum you'll likely discover those posts which could be of some help to you
  14. Wireless AA working for me running 1985 👍
  15. Why do you wish to reinstall it?
  16. Regarding the tone of the parking sensors, mine adjusts depending on how near / far away I am from an object / obstruction. The nearer I am, the louder the tone...
  17. Mine doesn't ever have issues unlocking, once I wrap my hand around the handle it opens every time. But it's meant to lock when you hover your hand over the little 'switch' on the outside of the handle, and when it's been quite wet mine doesn't lock. As mentioned, it's a known condition (to owners anyway) but if Skoda haven't changed how they build them since they built mine (4 years ago) then it wouldn't surprise me if it does this right from the factory
  18. If it's like mine and others people have posted about in here, it is probably due to wet weather which gets in and causes the locking feature to disengage, at least until it's dry again. There is a work around, it's posted on here somewhere (do a search for KESSY) but it's by no means a quick or simple fix. It involves stripping the door handles right back and replacing something inside of them which shuts out the wet weather for good
  19. I quite fancy it, but I have a manual and it states right at the end of the description that it's best suited to DSG vehicles as clutch pedal gets in the way of installation 🥹
  20. It seems to have resolved itself thankfully, was quite distracting as it drew your attention. No idea what caused or fixed it but just pleased it's fixed 🙂
  21. Updated successfully to 1985 a while back, haven't experienced any issues since (had some KESSY issues that turned out to be connected to something else) However, a couple of days ago I received an OTA app update (not sure which app, it didn't say) Since applying that update my navigation's compass seems to have stopped working. Whilst travelling, on the map my vehicle doesn't move from the start point, instead it just spins around and around on the spot. Anyone else experiencing this or any other similar issues..?
  22. It's on here somewhere if you do a search for it you should find it
  23. Mine occasionally don't display at all, but it seems sporadic, there doesn't seem to be a pattern to it
  24. Try using less revs. When it was happening to me I found that if I stuck to low revs, enough to pull away basically so I could change to to 2nd and it solved the issue.
  25. I have a manual 1.5 TSI and the only time I experience "kangarooing" issues is if I attempt to move off too soon after a cold start. It pays to leave your engine running idle for at least 30 seconds or so when first starting in the morning or after being stood for a while I find, when doing this I never experience the "kangarooing" you mention when moving off
