  1. Hmm Indeed could be for M8 bolt. It is hard to find reasonable torque. I looked at my ball joint M10 and definitely I'm not going tight it for 100Nm. At least not with nyloc nut provided by Febi in the kit. What I have found so far is this 40Nm +45deg. I keep looking.
  2. 100Nm not for the three nuts but ball joint to knuckle. for the three nuts 20 Nm + 90°
  3. I tried to record the rattling today. It is better to listen on smartphone than pc. Do you guys think that are lose pads?
  4. I once replaced gasked in my former car. White smoke and hard radiator hoses. Wet was cylinder number one. Clean one.
  5. white smoke out of exhaust coolant red light on dash came on with alarm level of coolant it above minimum I noticed when opening expansion tank was a pop and hiss Is this likely to be a head gasket gone yes very likely gasket symptoms coolant level down presure builtup stonehard hoses white smoke from exhaust hissing sound when opening the cap and instant level up and boiling you may do the CO2 gas test
  6. Did you remove it? 😊 In Octavia 2 we pull last part in direction of edge like slide phone. Corners have forks.
  7. I went London - Gdansk last year and what I learnt. Wheel must be quickly accesible in the boot. Not under floor and luggage. Good to have thick playwood (on the soft surface when jack is sinking) When sticker says 3 bar under heavy load pump it to 3 bar kokosal. Dont be affraid the tyre will blow. The worst is overheating sidewall at low pressure 2 bar and then blow. Torch or LED lamp on the legs is must have. I bought normal factory alu wheel and same size tyre fo 60 pounds and another steel for 40 pounds. New tyre 205/55 16 was 60 pounds. buy normal size wheel.
  8. It is simple but needs some time for the very first time. Drums should be prohibited in passenger cars. It is bunch of problems. Especially grease leak and simmering quality.
  9. Are both cables are too short now and you cannot catch nuts on the thread even if hanbrake is maximum down in zero positon? If cables seems too short now you need to push back self adjusters up with pliers or screwdriver. It will relase more cable to the cabin and you be able to put nuts on the thread.|You dont need to remove drums. You can do it with screwdriver through the lug bolt hole but it is tricki for the first time.
  10. handbrake lever maximum down, put the nuts on the thread self adjusters up with screwdriver put the drums on pull handbrake lever and tight the nuts more if lever is max down cable must be a little lose
  11. so now lever down and tight the nuts until first touch. If you pull the lever self adjuster should sink down deeper and deeper. Shoes should expand. Its greased dont expect much braking.
  12. To be honest I cant hear relay ON click because is masked by turning ignition. I can hear OFF only. What if you remove relay and try to turn the key to the ignition position? Still pump works without relay? If yes I would check cable from relay output to pump. Maybe there is just another jumper cable from lighter to pump.
  13. Maybe he connected legs of relay. Can you hear pump relay disconnecting after couple of seconds? Or maybe there is no relay just jumper.
  14. this way dirty fluid behind the piston goes back to ABS pump against pump filters. In this circut pressure from calipers is nor normal operation. You were lucky 😊 Well you help bleeders to weld with caliper forever 😉
  15. You still should be able to wind it back if piston is not rusty and seal not swollen. Open the bleeder. Do not open bleeders guys and in 100 times nothing will happen and 101 time you will damage ABS pump like I probabbly damaged mine.
  16. Did you touch the wheels? Is there any difference in temperature? Are discs the same colour. Dont you feel puling force to the left when braking? Maybe left wheel doesnt brake. All the job goes to the right wheel. Go to garage with gauges and compare braking force.
  17. sounds bad and flywheel teeth should be inspected
  18. New genuine or new aftermarket? Used genuine is better than unknown. Why starter was replaced? Maybe socket in housing is worn. In my golf mk2 I had to grease mechanism bc it was lazy. I changed cables aswell to have low resistance possible.
  19. Inspired by kivivyory I bought emergency set. Just in case 😉
  20. I had similar problem. Upper nut of sway bar link. I went to garage and after 4 hours they did not find it and gave me car back (45 pounds) I discovered it myself by chance after two weeks dismantling things after work 16oo-18oo. Now I know that checking swaybar link pathetic solution in Skoda is time interval service like oil change.
  21. I meant does your 1.6 engine have dual mass flywheel? 😨 My other 1.6 petrol car has dual mass flywheel. Maybe 1.6 BSE has aswell? 😱
  22. No. Engine will not start but you can estimate healt from klik klik.
  23. My heart just skip the beat. What 2005 1.6 engine has that "improvement"? TSI yes?
  24. my AC is not working completely but I dont care. I hate AC, summer is summer but have read that checking list is if fan is spinning together with switching AC LED on and compressor valve is usual suspect blend flap problem hot air leak
