  1. I don't know how you'll fit a roof box on the car... I've got trouble fitting the kayaks, never mind getting the tent in the car!
  2. I've e-mailed them so I'll see what comes back..if its not favourable then it'll be all over the forums EDIT : Oops...Looks like I'm too late. September 19th it is so. I vote we add a cinder block to gaff's kart this year...Just to keep him driving at our speeds :P
  3. What about here : New Page 1 We've done Midlands a few times now, how about a change in venue?
  4. Hi all, Just had the local Skoda dealership offer them up to the car. The carriers bolt straight on but the discs (I have 2 sets) are rubbing on the caliper forceing it at an angle. Has anyone upgraded to a set of r32 front 2 pot brakes? I was recommended to get the discs machined smaller by approximately 4mm
  5. Thanks guys, I've managed to get my hands on the mk4 R32 calipers, discs and pads. Anyone recommend any particular brake pad for them?
  6. Hi all, I'm thinking of upgrading the front brakes on the hearse to mk4 R32 ones. Does anyone know is it hard to do... do the carriers bolt on? Would I need anything special to do the job?
  7. I'm going to give these a go. I just went back to Halogen from HIDs as the halogen gave a better throughput of light, but they're aweflul yellow now. Hopefully these will give better light and be a little whiter
  8. Hi all, A work collegue asked me to take a look at his superb and the following faults showed up : Address 08: Auto HVAC Labels: 3U0-907-044.lbl Part No: 3U0 907 044 A Component: CLIMATRONIC S B5 C 2004 Coding: 17000 Shop #: WSC 00028 3 Faults Found: 00603 - Footwell/defroster Flap Positioning Motor (V85) 37-00 - Faulty 01271 - Positioning Motor for Temperature Flap (V68) 37-00 - Faulty 01274 - Air Flow Flap Positioning Motor (V71) 37-10 - Faulty - Intermittent Can anyone tell me where to find this so that I can replace it?
  9. Ah nuts. Isn't that the hard one to get at?
  10. wow....exactly the same thing happened to mine about 3 weeks ago! I'm just glad the dealer had one on the shelf for me to pick up! Now the obvious question.... I presume its some sort of breather pipe? (I'm asking as I'm too lazy to find it in the Haynes manual)..
  11. oh he has... Congrats Walter. I should really spool up my GPU now.
  12. Whats the range of differences between this and a normal vRS ? I can see the leather seats, alloys, steering wheel and the addition of a new colour..
  13. Hi all, I've discovered that when I open up the boot lid, the "door open" symbol on the dash doesn't work anymore and consquently the alarm re-arms itself with 30 seconds (the safety feature to combat false button presses). The car is showing up no fault codes related to this, so i can only think its a short on a wire somewhere. (The fuses are all working and test ok). Anyone know how to best go about checking this?
  14. I have something similar. It sounds similar to KITT's (from original Knight Rider) engine sound and started happening very pronounced when i swapped the tires from the back to the front recently.
  15. No I'm in the same boat... The first fins I broke were the result of an aluminium pole being poked into the car from the boot and went a little too far... Now they're breaking one at a time. I tend to leave them open in the same position so they don't look broken. The price sounds right...
  16. oops! Missed that entry on the routing table. Right, I wonder if the PC is using the 192.168.3.5 interface as a source? Can you add a route to the .129 router for the 192.168.3.5 host and point it at the 10.64.1.129 IP ? this would be a quick way of seeing if this is the case.
  17. cathalb on this website has had them remap his Octy vRS mk2 and having been a passenger in it, it is a good map giving a good power delivery.
  18. Right, your problem is that you have a /8 ( 255.0.0.0) subnet mask on the 10.64.x.y network. This means that the server will always look locally for the 10.1.0.0/16 network and never to the router, so no matter what your routing table tells you, the /8 mask always takes precedence. Is the subnet mask on the 10.64 network correct? If the Solaris machine works, I'd say that it has a different subnet mask on it, more than likely a /16. Hope this helps Manny

  21. I have to agree here. get some spade connectors and plug into the original wiring, no need to cut them. Also pick yourself up a multimetre, it'll show you which is the positive connector if you have lost it! The crackling is going to be a little harder to troubleshoot.... As all the other speakers have the cackling, do this happen with the radio set on CD or just radio, or both? It could be a short in the new speakers causing the amplifier to try to compensate, affecting the rest of the speakers. The best test is to unplug the new speakers one at a time to try see which one is causing it. Can you had the radio out of the dash? If so it could also be a loose connection at the rear of the unit. Hope this helps
  22. "Stuff" :P I'm getting the remap tweaked while i'm over there.
