@Johngerard You could use an Octane Booster with 95 Ron E10 bought in the RoI. In the UK the E5 is sold as 97 Ron Minimum or 88 Ron minimum. There has not been 98 Ron Minimum sold in the UK for over a decade.(VW FAQ site has never recognised that as being the case.) Not all E5 in the UK contains Ethanol. It is Regions / Depots & Distribution dependent.

All Season 3PMSF (Three Peak Mountain Snowflake) tyres might be all that is needed if you do not require FULL SNOW Tyres. Plenty All-Seasons suitable for use in Snow or pisted or non pisted roads and even if Snow Chains are needed. @Mariosti The ABS / TPMS / TC will not give a monkeys if there are different widths or circumference of tyres fitted. Reset the TPMS. But you are intending changing the Diameter / Circumference. Maybe just fit narrower treads / sidewall to sidewall if cost is an issue. Set your Winter Tyre speed warning on the car if Winter / Snow Tyres are fitted.

Some inspection of drum brake cars were done without wheels off. Right they used inspection hols on rear drum plate. Not. @JB88 If they were going by some Service Regime like that shown by Skoda UK the Air Filter was due to be replaced at 6 Years / 60,000 miles. Was it ? Actually it should be inspected at every service if a service is worth a damn.

With Skoda / VW it is common that NEW DISCS are required sooner than pads or at the same time. Long gone are the days of several sets of pads before the discs need replaced. But then Skoda main dealer servicing might have Brake Fluid changed but not SERVICING of the Brakes, strip and grease pins etc.

Clearing the fault after dealing with the issue or fault and then road testing it and checking for fault codes is just 'Simply Clever' or a necessity'. Did they road test your vehicle before handing back the keys having given you the invoice. Plus the report on the checks they did while they had the car with them?

It is cobblers. Not specified anyplace & whoever came up with the tripe needs to show where they come up with this. Skoda have covered nothing, they are at it. Have you seen the Final Decisions of the Ombudsman in writing concerning other claims. There are those that have successfully made claims under the warranty on exactly the same corrosion issue in exactly the same location on the car.

Skoda or whoever is telling this nonsense should know that there are vehicles out there that they failed to engineer into the 'Normal operational noise'. Where is this person based and are they an Automotive Engineer or a desk jokey?

Haldex is at 3 years / 30,000 miles. So i would be wanting it done know as well as the Brake Fluid change if not done in the past 2 years. As far as the DSG i would want that now and the Warranty covering it. Not left till 80,000 miles.

& there can be a 'Low Oil Pressure' (red oil can) warning before you get a 'Oil level low' with some VW Group / Skoda engines. Nice sweeping roads and spirited driving.
