vRS Owners, cars with a VAQ front diff, a question on the servicing and what you are being told at Skoda Main Dealerships?
@varooom was a great loss to this forum. Much knowledge and not appreciated enough like many that were here and techs and trained and qualified in Mechanical Engineering, electronics and the rest. Motor car stuff.

the truth about electric cars
Wonderfull as long as no malfunctions and recovery not required by a heavy duty ICE or BEV vehicle and there will be qualified mechanics. Everything is bigger in Ametica.

the truth about electric cars
@Graham Butcher you need to go look at top out speeds ev,s and if you are prepared to go to yours to catch up an ev that was at 120 when you had not got to 100 mph or even that.

the truth about electric cars
@lol-lol every drive is not about drivng to an empty tank or battery. Or a commute. Some dfive for leisure and pleasure and just go places to then come back. Sports cars or classics or whatever might never make economic sense, just good for your soul.

the truth about electric cars
My MG ev with 150 bhp real world is more liked to a Superb 280 but the 280 is just not as quick. A MG x-power is just on a differdng level speed wise to the VW grouo ice hot hatches or ev.s. and is awd. Might not get out of corners on OEM tyres.

the truth about electric cars
As to regen and in city or out and about. Truth of the matter getting a move on and coasting can give plenty regen. And driving quick and ajusting regen for braking. Just like using a dsg and S to slow down. Being told about how to drive an ev by those that get taught by thd inteternet and not actually driving is just how it seems to be with EV,s and the real world.

Fabia 2023 recent recalls
For the modern cars the Safety Critical Air Bag Recall should mean the Registered Owners of affected vehicles received a Letter, a phone call if their number is on the Dealers or Skoda UK,s system and The Service Desk at dealers should know when asked. Other Service Campaign stuff is another matter. Skoda often act like SKODA SECRET SERVICE, dont tell others including owners they will expect to get booked in.

the truth about electric cars
F1 / Formula E etc etc is just like GoKarting in bigger and faster cars & even what were top drivers from the past 5 years know they are Sh-!te. Extreme E also. And really it has nothing to do with Road going BEV,s . City cars, family cars, taxi / airport transport sized cars SUV,s LGV,s or HGV,s/ Busses. What there is now and coming out are the stupid fast BEV Hot hatches following and maybe selling better than Abarth, JCW,s & Alpines in the form of the Peugeot e205 GTI, Corsa GSE, SEAT Raval VZ etc. UK National Speed Limit 60 mph.....

New Elroq - Just arrived at Dealers! Tips?
New tyres are Green Tyres and need Run / Driven in, as do the brakes, suspension etc etc. Many written off cars are new with less than 50 miles on them because people do not think of tyres and the release agent. As to GITI Tyres. If VW do a deal with GITI so be it, as many Big Name Brands from Germany or Europe are crap anyway and over priced if replacing like for like but supplied cheap to VW Group.

Need a good Stage 2 setup for Skoda Rapid 1.0 TSI (India)
Why VW bought shares in Suzuki to get their knowledge of small capacity engines, and Fiat and Mitsubishis of turbos and superchargers. As they colaberated. The night the VW defeat device scandal broke, Suzuki bought back their final shares. With money lent by Toyota. The other small engjne experts.

Possability Contaminated E5 Super Unleaded. Scotland.
I see that there might have been as many as 15 filling stations that received and sold contaminated E5 last week. Check out online to see yourself if you had issues. One Kilmarnock station was mentioned.

Service reminder
West end Skoda must of bucked up their ideas then. Employed some better staff then... or new managment.

Service reminder
So the tech reset it, it is on variable servicing as it left the factory. If you want it chsnged to Fixed / annual you should have asked for that. It needs pluged in. Just go get it serviced in another year if you want. Ask then to have reset to fixed. PS. They should have Service and Inspection set at same time. Go back and ask them to do it correctly.

Service reminder
Say what it is showing. Is it Oil Service or Inspection Service. Is the car set on Variable / Flexible Servicing, 24 months / 18,000 -20,000 miles? Or fixed Servicing 9,400 miles / 372 days? Have you serviced it?

the truth about electric cars
Anyway Registration are rising, and likely mostly for business users. Still nobody has to buy or lease or drive an EV. Life Insurance costs will have to be increased. But still waiting on how many BEV crashes and vehicle fires involve fatalities or life changing injuries. Insurers must know that figure, or NHS England, Wales Scotland or Northern Ireland.
