Indicator problem
Maybe less expensive to go to an Auto electrician that can sort the issue without a song and dance and a diagnostic charge just the cost to repair fault.

Octavia 2 Dsg not changing gear.
@kenbo I had to look at your profile to see what engine you had to assume what DSG you had and know it is not a DQ200. So is it a DQ250 6 speed wet clutch? How many miles on it and when was the Oil & Filter last changed in the DSG?

How to improve steering feel
@Waipe As far as i believe the Settings are available on all VW Group Vehicles & i would have thought with other manufacturers. Many vehicles require setting like more Steering or Brake assistance for different users. Cars with hand controls and other mods. Ask a VW Master Tech, or VW Customer Services. Not that Customer Services are likely to know anything, but there is always a change. Call or Email a company that does conversions and modifications for disabled drivers.

How to improve steering feel
@Waipe Welcome. So it is not to improve STEERING FEEL you are after, but just more Steering Assistance. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I am surprised that nobody seems to be aware that the steering can be reset. As in plenty threads in Briskoda for many a past year. Even AI has picked up on it. The Steering Assist can be increased. It is a disability setting that is often carried out for cars leased through Motability. Just needs plugged in. Plenty Motability cars go to Auction and are not reset to Factory Settings. I liked my Fiat Punto with the 'Girly Button', or as it was the 'City Button'. Also my Corsa Electric which in ECO mode had the steering go very light at slow speeds. Back in the day the way to lighten steering for those with disabilities was narrower tyres and a bigger steering wheel. As to Steering Assist Settings, there is also Brake Assist that can be increased. Also the XDS / XDS+, e-diff. What many do during winter with Snow / Winter tyres on is 'Reduce the assisted steering'.

Mobility cars. Are they worth it
New rules / T&C,s from 1st July 2026 are being introduced to Motasbility which was forced by the UK Government in Westminster. Reduced annual mileage allowance, VAT to pay on the Advance Payment and other tweaks. In Scotland the Scottish Government has paused these changes while they are in discussion with Motability. Reason being given is that the 10,000 mile a year allowance would badly affect some Motability Customers in more rural Scotland. The mileage allowance was 12,000 miles back in the day before it was extended to 20,000 miles.

the truth about electric cars
The UK is going to gift the Ukraine many millions more £, (210 Million of Export Finance Support) and nuclear fuel in the form of enriched uranium. apparently this is 'going to directly support thousands of skilled British manufacturing and supply chain jobs.' "The multi-year deal sustaining operations at vital processing facilities in North West England." I smell BS. Lies and untruths. But good to see just how easy it is for the UK to produce Enriched Uranium. The UK is so very wealthy, and energy & resources rich. Maybe it can sort out water companies in England and get building new infrastructure, not just bail them out. The National Grid actually fit for purpose and owned by the UK nations would be an actual move forward for Energy Security in the UK. PS, Depleted Uranium, was being moved from Dounreay to China then that was stopped and it was being flown out from Wick to the USA. That is 'highly-enriched uranium ( HEU) Also materials moved by road and then rail to Sellafield.

keyfob misbehaving seriously
^^^ The thing is you posted the alarm was still sounding when the engine was running.

Flat Battery in Key Fob - Warning
'Simply clever' to keep a battery or batteries in the car. Also rather obvious that if the Invoice or parts shown as replaced at a service does not show the cost of a key fob battery then you never got one. Getting stuff Free Gratis is not common at Skoda Dealerships. Even Free Wash and Vacuums are paid for if a service is paid for.

Flat Battery in Key Fob - Warning
^^^ So no manual key in the fob?

keyfob misbehaving seriously
@D.FYLAKTOS Just relevant if the Mk2 Octavia Siren Battery might be more like a Mk2 Fabia's which might be as low as 8 years & needing replaced or 16 years old and still not as issue. The Alarm Siren showed in the Service Book as a replacement item at 5 years. Skoda / VW Group were the ones publishing the @ 5 year crap. & replacing whole units. You would have thought that they would know that they had fitted ones to cars already that were going to be good for 25 years.,,,,,,,,,,,,

keyfob misbehaving seriously
@D.FYLAKTOS Different alarm, in a different model and in a different environment / climate. So maybe someone with similar to the op in a similar location can comment on their alarm battery life. Not exactly an unknown issue!

Constant DPF regen
Rather relevant is how many miles on the car. Have you not had a reading of the ash / oil ash content?

the truth about electric cars
PM Sir Keir Starmer MP is getting out announcements before he might be in a challenge against him for the Leader of the Labour Party & Prime Minister & also he has opposition parties saying they would bin EV Mandate plans. He set up a new company last week for getting in money / donations to go to fighting his leadership challenge. Who will be donating? Any car manufacturers or Tech Bro's ?

keyfob misbehaving seriously
^^^ & it has been in the car for 16 years now if the car is a 2010 Octavia which is 'many'.

the truth about electric cars
Surprise surprise NOT! The UK Government has and is consultation with the car manufacturers & are looking like making an announcement on altering or in truth U TURNING on the requirements and timeline on when passenger cqrs have to be EV,s getting First Registered. It will be more than just CARS even though that is what the News Readers / Presenters and media say. Lack of interest, sales, infrastructure built, public charging and the cost to charge in public. The social divide of those that are Business users and get tax breaks and home or work chargers & those with none of these. Basically it is to do with governments & advisers not knowing their arse from their elbow or the ability to organise a p1$$ up in a brewery. Just a bunch of muppets that are not capable of understanding hard working or not working or not stupid people and the 'Real World of motoring and transportation needs or wants'.

Gearbox Emergency Mode
Do not let them or anyone try to explain what is something they have no idea about. ie Skoda Assist.....Did the Responder plug in and read any saved Fault Codes and print them out? Is yours a FWD Karoq with a 7 Speed Twin Dry Clutch DSG. ? So basically 2 oils used. and likely the MCU has a fault. There is oil in the Mechatronic Control Unit (MCU) & an ECU. No Service Schedule for a DQ200, so regular servicing irrelevant. Unless someone hopeless serviced it. ??? What was done under the warranty? What was replaced or repaired?

Small dent in car after main dealer service
When there were Service Books the page after each Service page showed a Car body to mark the damage, corrosion etc. Then it was on the Palm Top device that you identified marks and that was recorded. Then much of the 'items' to do on the Work Sheet never had that showing. & time was not allocated for a proper inspection. Proper Places had the Free Wash before a Service, not after it, so that a proper body inspection could be done.

Small dent in car after main dealer service
The Nobody doing a check at drop off, not checking for marked wheels or obvious damage is a matter to raise with the Dealer Principle. Poor Franchised dealership practice. BUT, the Premium Price charged for Servicing 'Should' include the Body Work inspection for the Paint & Corrosion Warranty/. Not on the Time Sheet / Service Sheet, no longer Service Books, but Skoda are the first to say 'No record of Inspections' when knocking back Warranty Claims'. Inspections are not required in the Warranty T&C,s. But Skoda / VW Group show it as part of Servicing. What is supposed to be checked is damage or poorly repaired damage. Seldom done and then recorded.

MANNOL Diesel Ester Additive (MN9930)
I will not use additives when there is a choice of Premium Diesels to use, or regular derv even in the UK. My 8 year old diesel without AdBlue was stinking badly when run on Tesco Diesel, but running smooth and smell free and getting a bit better MPG running on Gulf diesel. I used to use their Gulf Super on my Shogun but they do EvoUltra (XTL) now and it is too expensive locally. Currently i am running BP Ultimate Diesel because i am getting a good price and i like how the MPG is and performance fine and people are nit getting the bad tail pipe small / emissions when behind or beside me.
