the truth about electric cars
Not enough Green Energy generated in England seems to be 'Real World'. Not enough of the Green Energy generated on and around the British Isles being actually used. National Grid issue there.

the truth about electric cars
As long as they are getting on with some Official police back Office / Internet work while sitting Square Wheels. Lets not hope on 12 hour shifts and part of that involves sitting in the vehicles a couple of hours at charging hubs. But they can see the world go by. Maybe criminals. They could always unplug and in a couple of minutes be off at a very quick speed and car ready for it, not like some Interceptors that have stone cold engines and fire risks like the BMW,s had.

Having problems with Kamiq
@Ssssstevo I took it from what you posted that it is reversing quite fast just when in reverse which is why i mentioned tick over RPM. Is that right? Have you tried using the Hand / Parking brake to retard the speed a bit rather than the foot brake? I think the car needs checked. What RPM is it at as you select R? With AC off.

Skoda Kodiak 4 and 2 wheel drive difference in specs?
A Dealership or Skoda Ireland should act like professionals and help someone that has a Skoda Vehicle and might buy another or might not on how Customer Service. Is. It is not Skoda Secret Service other than when there are Recalls, Sworkshop Actions, Software Updates etc.

Moved from a Dacia to a Kamiq & comparing 3 cyl engines
There are a few Posts / Threads on here about 1.0 TSI Manuals with very premature clutch failures. Pretty low miles. Some have been 'Ex Demonstrators' Management cars / whatever, sold after 3,000 miles / 3 months & Dealerships not wanting to know cand blaming New Drivers rather than while the car was Skoda's or the Dealerships.

Very noisy engine - but not a warranty issue!!
So warranty covering a faulty DSG. Yes oil and filter should be replaced when a MCU is. The Invoices should show they did change the Filter. 20,000 mile oil changed must have been because of reported issues. Really best you get a proper diagnosis while covered by warranty. The Cam Belt can be inspected, That is without a full strip down.

Very noisy engine - but not a warranty issue!!
It is a BELT. What has the Servicing actually involved other then Oil & Filter and Pollen Filter. Were the spark plugs replaced at 4 years / 40,000 miles. Has the Air Filter ever been replaced, or looked at? Is the DSG getting a service before 80,000 miles or has it been done already? PS. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXThe Cam belt replacement was @ 5 years / 50,000 milers until 2023 when Skoda changed that. Maybe the Cam Belt and tensioners do need replaced.

the truth about electric cars
^^^ Love it, and if i had a spare 1/2 half a million i would not buy one, nor even 1/4 of a million if they ever get that cheep. A car looking just the same and with a 2 litre petrol engine would great.,

the truth about electric cars
Carnoustie to Tealing is healed. Tealing Substation has been where it is for years. That was a huge pig farm there after having been an aerodrome. Kintore is huge and getting bigger and has been where it is for 90 years. The objections are now the huge pylons running from North to South and South of Scotland from the Substations, and Substation to Substation. ............. People used to object to Pig Farms.

Having problems with Kamiq
How long a warranty did you get with the car? Are Arnold Clark taking it in to diagnose and fix any faults? Ok foot on brake reversing if not on the accelerator, but your tick over speed is maybe too high. What servicing did it get, were the spark plugs replaced at 4 years? Full Main Dealer Service History of servicing as per Regime, Recommendations, Schedule, Advice from the Manufacturer. PS. I would have a check of the air filters condition. It might never have been checked after fitted at the factory.

Welcome to the Forum. Maybe say what engine and gearbox the car has.

Having problems with Kamiq
Welcome to the forum. Is this a new car you bought where simply you get issues dealt with under the warranty? Or a used car with Issues & if it has faults also needs deal;t with without you being panned off by AC employees? Consumer rights, Fit for Purpose. So new or used, if used how old and how many miles? What history does the car have as far as Servicing or Warranty work already. PS, please explain reversing and holding the brake? Touching the brake pedal does cut power / disengage drive/ open clutches. It is a dsg (Semi Automatic) use one foot, do not touch the accelerator and at the same time. Use both feet.

What you do is replace the Coolant Bottle with one without a Silica (Silicate) Bag. Then a different coolant should be used.

Would driving a faulty car invalidate my Insurance?
Your responsible for the safety of your vehicle. You know the car is a risk and you are posting on a public forum. You will have to refuse to accept back an unsafe car. Make the Skoda Dealership aware and Skoda UK the importer. Corporate Liability. Skoda / VW UK have had to take cars in in the past and provide courtesy cars where there were known or suspected issues and still no Recalls. DVLA Safety Recalls. Contact the DVSA as well and inform them of your concerns.

Revs limitation
Good, what do you want it to rev to when stationary. Yes there is a limiter.

@johnnie47 It could get a Remap, but then that invalidates your warranty if Non Factory approved software. But i doubt that would bother you since the car needed a new clutch @ 15,000 miles. Was the clutch done before you got it and at a Main Dealers?
