  1. Best order via the VIN number.
  2. The wheel arches will remain the same size and the circumference of the tyres you put on 17 or 18" wheels will be pretty much the same as the 16" tyres. Only they will be lower profile. Lowering the car might be 'Simply Clever'.
  3. Official Test. Costs you Oil & Filter and Labour time draining & weighing and refilling twice if no excessive oil use. This Technician co-cked up. Engine oil @ 15oC is 856 grams not 1,000 grams. This engine was replaced after Skoda had pointed out a muppet did the official test.
  4. If she works full time or part time on a Service Desk she should know something, unless no long term memory. She was not a Technician though was she?
  5. Was the Oil level correct when the car was new or you first got it? Are you checking with the Oil @ normal operating temperature parked on the flat after a few minutes? Was the oil checked & topped up between being new and finding out before the first service it was low. Engines might well use more oil in the first 5,000 km as said in the Owners Manual. Beside were it tells you how to check the oil. If no dipstick, then that can be an issue. After the Service was the Oil checked stone cold, and then at Normal Operating Temperature to be sure the correct level was there from the service? Often it is not, because the PROFESSIONAL knows best. Not! PS Hungarian or English, it says May use 0.5 litres in 1,000 km. That is all engines. That is not within tolerances. Normal Driving, no extremes of temperature, Not Towing an Elephant over an Alpine Pass in High Summer. Re-read the Owners Manual. 0.3 litres in 1,000 km after 5,000 miles of Running in / Driving in is too much oil used. Get a Warranty Claim in. Get an Official Oil Consumption test. Dynamic Test.
  6. Worth a listen if you can on BBC Sounds. Sliced Bread. The programme on Car Shampoos and Coatings. It was Released on the 30th October 2025.
  7. We learned all about Robber Baron,s, Greedy Barstewards that would rob and pillage and take what was yours and expect you to be grateful for it. Take lots and give a little back. eg The Barrett Formula. We learned that you would be left with cleaning up the nuclear and paying for generations and then that those that want you to have more would try that on.
  8. VW Group have for decades said for all engines, petrol or diesel, and 3,4,5,6,8,10 or 12 cylinder 'may use 0.5 litres in 1,000 km.) 621 miles, so 1 litre in 2,000 km / 1,242 miles. 1 litre in 10,000 km is not excessive. but 1 litre in 2,000 km is, and not within tolerance, They just like to cover their ar$e.
  9. The dogs are fine. I am trying to stick to Car / Transport subjects. In Scotland we learned from an early age about nature and resources. Shale Oil & Gas, Coal and Hydro Electricity and wind power as there were wind mills at many farms. Scotland is resource rich and renewable electricity rich. I remember as a child just how dirty Edinburgh, Dundee & Glasgow were. From burning coal and gas & industry. Thank goodness the EV charging infrastructure is improving. It is just a shame there are still so many objections to Pylons, Wind & Solar farms and battery farms, and Public Ev charging is so expensive.
  10. Anti freeze / Summer Coolant does not just contain anti corrosion ingredients, it alters the Boiling point of H20 and the freezing point. So use the correct strength of Coolant / Antifreeze.
  11. Long before google there were encyclopedias and schools and lessons on history, geology etc.
  12. H&S for the Special people. Remember remember the 5th of November. Gunpowder, treason and plot. No point making any terrorist attacks easy. Might as well be done at some other over ground charging places. Or just at underground car parks where there is no EV / PHEV charging, but that class of vehicle is not restricted from gaining access. PS It is a Government controlled or used car park. We the people own it, unless maybe they lease it from other land owners. Who owns the Land, Is it Crown land, Duke of Westminster owned. Anyway, special rules for special people. Elected or employed and just their short term.
  13. Wonderful. I like charging at Dynamic Earth in the Underground Car Park. Handy for the Scottish Parliament visits. If there is ever a fire there maybe the visitors will mistake it for action from the extinct volcano it is next to.
  14. @Graham Butcher Fantastic. But back after you first posted a few years back you repeated what you posted, but could not find the article. Now you have had your Weetabix and you have Google at your finger tip. Amazing.
  15. @Graham Butcher Do you remember the last time you could not come up with the Article on the Palace Courtyard. The Power of Google / AI is with us now. Like all improving technology.
  16. So the PALACE YARD is a covered car park? An Underground or overground covered car park? Just interested as i read the post that said "Seeing as the UK government had the charging points removed from their own covered car park in Westminster."
  17. The Kangerooing issue 2018 / 2019 with 1.5 TSI ACT,s because VW / Skoda had to 'manipulate' the Software / Engine management to get the WLTP Certification is well covered in threads on here. The members first reporting issues, those were told 'They all do that', then eventually the Service Campaign, the DVLA safety Critical recall due to the Lack of Torque. Sadly some traded in cars, lost money, and even after the Engine Management Update still had issues. So get your reports into the DVLA over the cars behaviour if you think unsafe. VW will persuade the DfT / DVLA that are doing something, just vas they did with DQ200,s when the UK / EU was not part of a Global Recall.
  18. @Hudson1 The Pictures of Mk2 Fabia vRS show the jack as was supplied with new cars 2010-2014. So yes not the jack for the Mk 4. But the pictures were there showing wheel sizes in a spare tyre well.
  19. @lol-lol A good point well made, even if it is actually 80% (or 84% AI) of the UK population that are in the 53% of the UK that is England. The law will apply to just over half of the UK,s land mass. AI must be taken with a pinch of salt, as must Statements made here by @Graham Butcher maybe. There was Press Coverage on 'Westminster' Charge Points, near the Parliament, but then these could not be found last time the subject was posted about.
  20. ^^^ The UK / Westminster Government, Announcement relevant to England.
  21. @Graham Butcher Read it as you like. Make up your own story about Zero sympathy. I just said, that is how things are EV or ICE vehicle. My sympathy helps nobody, but when i can help someone here getting screwed over i do try to. Really what does it matter about EV,s and not yet where they need ro be technology wise to you? clearly are not getting one.
  22. @Graham Butcher I am a driver of EV,s just as i am a driver of ICE vehicles and was a driver of Offroaders and Modified cars. A Fan boy maybe. The Insurers were taking the P!th. Absolutely, and the vlogger was stuffed. As happens here. As i posted first after you posted the video, no revelations or anything different from as things happen very very often. Independent Engineers Reports can help, but if Main Dealer Technician is not supporting you or a Importer you can be stuffed. PS If the Dude could buy the Pickup up as part of the settlement then on the word of "his mechanic" then that would be a No Brainer to do. No Battery Pack damage. Someone might be getting a bargain...
  23. Maybe the Pickup in Canada will be repaired and not broken for parts, including the Battery Pack. Maybe the owner could buy it, or some buddy in the Motor Trade and do the cosmetic repairs. Maybe the Insurers will be OK insuring it. Like UK insurers are, not bothering about a Proper Electrical Check, replacement Seat Belts or Airbags being fitted, just put through a MOT or sometimes not even that. Leased / Rented BEV,s are going to be a different from ones people might own and that they can have repairs done on in any way that suits them.
  24. Are the CrossClimate 3 not available yet in the size required? There are Video Reviews posted in this section in the long running threads. http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/520748-which-all-season-tyre/page/2 There are CrossClimate. CrossClimate + ,CrossClimate 2 CrossClimate 3, CrossClimate 3 Sport & CrossClimate SUV,s.
