  1. So maybe that's why they do the breather mod?
  2. Well, I've been summoned back tomorrow. Apparently an engineer from the warranty company wants to look at the car. Garage says it's standard, and they're checking the paperwork before they cough. Hoping it's not an attempt to wriggle out of their obligations.
  3. This is troubling me. There's no smoke from mine, but it's devoured oil at a vast rate of knots. I'd love to know.
  4. Wiring loom on mine was for the heated seats. Had the oil and software update and new wiring and elements for heated seats under 'service campaigns'
  5. Still ongoing, failed first test, had breather mod done and on second. Garage and Skoda currently being very own and helpful thus far. Will know more soon I guess when second test is done
  6. I had the same from my supplying dealer, even down to the ridiculous suggestion that a litre of oil per 500 miles was normal. I slung my hook, tried somewhere else, and they couldn't have been more helpful. I really would try elsewhere.
  7. Mine was doing that before the oil change, it went quiet for a day or so after, but now it's back....... It sounds like water running through a valve or pump, or a belt and pulley that's not quite in line.
  8. I had that on an old Octavian. A new aerial fixed it. Horners said it was water in it....
  9. Sounds like you need to tune to 693 and 1089.....
  10. Maybe yes, but if we don't get on at VAG, everyone who suffers won't get a good outcome. SUK were really helpful. Car now booked in somewhere for an investigation. Will ask if I can do the driving
  11. Ok, not proving to be easy. Rang Skoda UK, as no email back from them. They said contact supplying dealer. Feel like naming and shaming them. They claimed that 1 litre of oil per 600 miles was normal. So nothing to worry about. Since heard back from SUK, who have told me they've opened a case, and to take it to a dealer and tell them. No previous oil work it would seem. Will let you know how my local dealer does with it.
  12. Lol, they're a long way from Rochdale!!!! I miss Parkside and Horners in Bury.
  13. I had to pay for a new condenser on a 6 month old Honda because a stone had gone through it....
  14. RRG is my nearest one. Not done Skoda for very long, which is a bit of a worry
  15. Yes. I'm quite prepared to become something of a nuisance, once took a garage to court and won, but I'd rather we just sorted it like gentlemen. Better like that for me for sure.
  16. That's what I'm planning. Contacted them on Wednesday. Not heard a thing yet. It's an approved used, 3 years and 3 months. Warranted until September. Will ring and very gently moan on Monday.
  17. Yep, 750 miles. I'll book it in next week and see what they say.
  18. Depends if it's part failure, or a stone has taken something out I guess.
  19. Thought I'd just start another thread because there aren't enough already. Used four litres in 5,000 miles, the last litre going in 750 miles. Seems to be a bit of a downward spiral. Contacted Skoda through the website, but guess what, no reply yet. Guess I'll be ringing Monday. What's puzzling me is I bought my used approved 2011 estate in September, and it seemed fine, although I found it hard to read the dipstick. It always seemed to be wet everywhere. It didn't need any oil till Christmas. Could it be an unscrupulous dealer overfilled it so it didn't appear to have an oil problem, or could some numpty in the service dept have done it and caused the problem. Alternatively is the onset of problems a fairly subtle thing. I suppose 3k to a litre, then 1.2k followed by 1k and 750k shows a decline that would plot quite well on a graph. I'll keep you all updated.
  20. Mine has it. Wouldn't bother, but it came with the car. I use it to hide my laptop in. Was quite handy at Christmas for keep the wife's pressie out of sight.
  21. Hmmmmm, have a feeling I'm going to be going down this road. Bought a 2011 VRS estate with 11,000 on her, for 3 months needed nothing (Am wondering now if the dealer overfilled her?) Now on 16,000 seem to be using quite a lot, the yellow oil light came on a few weeks ago, 1.2L took it back to the top of the cross hatch, but a hot-check today showed that 400 miles later it's in the bottom half of the cross hatch. Will try a cold dip tomorrow, but the fact that the yellow light came on last time doesn't fill me with confidence. At least I have the warranty from the Skoda dealer. Don't want to pay for anything myself though, is it best to contact a dealer first or a garage. My nearest dealer is relatively new on the scene, and whilst they've done brilliantly with a couple of Toyotas my wife has owned, I've only set foot in their Skoda dealership to purchase oil. Maybe a trip back to the the supplying dealer would be worthwhile. Any thoughts from people who've been down this route would be gratefully received.
