Handling upgrades
I would not want to go any smaller than the 16s on there, I think it was just that the shocks were already on their way out and just got finished off by the pot hole, also the 16s only clear the calipers on my car by about 3mm

Handling upgrades
I am running them at the full load pressures listed on the fuel cap, but have since caught the back wheel in a horrendous pothole which has caused the rear shock on that side to have problems so now looking to replace all the shocks and possibly springs as well

Handling upgrades
Currently on a set of 205/55r16 crossclimate 2 XL tyres I am not 100% sure on the rim width. It is mainly just that the car just does not have quite such an immediate response when turning the wheels, which is what I expected when fitting the winters, was just looking to see if there were options to improve it that would also make the car handle even better once back on the 18 inch summer alloys. On a side note, Not sure how it would be possible to fit snow chains due to the clearance on the inside of the wheels as the 16inch rims only just clear the disc brakes

Handling upgrades
I have always found the car handles well, was more just that I had moved to my winter tyres and was looking to see if it would help with making the steering more precise to kind of make up for the larger sidewall on the 16 inch rims with the winters on Will look at upgrading the springs and dampeners as well

Handling upgrades
Just realised I was actually thinking of the front upper strut brace, not sure why when I typed the question I put the wrong one

Handling upgrades
Just wanted to check if anyone here has fitted a front anti roll bar or similar, and if they had what difference it made and what needed modifying to allow it to fit.

Tyre sizes for 18" wheels
Currently have a mk2 superb on my winter wheels (16 inch) definitely helps with absorbing the bumps, but the car does not feel as positive, on the 18 inch wheels with the 40 profile tyres it feels like it is on rails

01333 & 01331 Driver resp. rear left door module, no comms permanent
Had ordered a new loom before the posts with the links to the repair kits, have done a temporary repair on mine using crimp connectors, and will fit the new loom when it arrives, but if any of the others go bad, will either get the repair kit or just solder in replacement extra wire.

01333 & 01331 Driver resp. rear left door module, no comms permanent
Just had the same problem on mine, is this one that is best done by the dealers or can most independent garages do it as well, also what did it cost for others to have it fixed?

MFSW mk2 octavia retrofit
I currently have a Octavia 2009 Octavia 16.TDI that I would like to retro fit with a MFSW, just wanted to check which parts I would need. I also have a Pre-facelift MFSW, and know that the airbags are different, would it be possible to fit this, or would I be better off finding a Facelift MFSW. The info from my Steering Column is that it has a System description J0527 053 Hardware Version of 1K0953549CQ Software version 0111 Coding: 0000034

facelift MFSW on PRE facelift
I have a similar question, but going in the other direction, as I have a Pre-Facelift MFSW that I would like to fit to my Facelift octavia, although would also be happy with fitting a facelift one with MFSW as well if I can find one on ebay for not too much.

Coding MFSW to 2007 Octavia
Have managed to get the new steering wheel controller as well (a highline one, will confirm part number shortly), have yet to take everything apart, hopefully will not need a new loom as well

Advice on stereo replacement.
I needed to pay a little extra to get the correct surround/frame as did not pick exactly the right one on the order but sent a picture of the dash of the car to the seller and they let me know and asked if I wanted to cancel the order or to pay the $13 extra for the change of frame once it arrives will update with extra details, including a guitar to fitting it as I do. My car does not have the steering wheel controls so can't test that part, but I believe it comes with a canbus unit with it.

Advice on stereo replacement.
I know that the op has already found a solution, I have found a few units on AliExpress that are ment to fit really well and come with the surround, hoping to purchase one of these shortly and will post a review of the unit afterwards if I do. 10.1" 2Din Android 8.1 For 2007-2014 Volkswagen SKODA Octavia 2 A5 Car Radio Multimedia Video Player HiFi Navigation Head Unit https://a.aliexpress.com/_dWEmDnJ Looking at going for the T3L plus

Aircon issue
Thank you, will try to take a look with the glovebox out tomorrow night, can remember seeing a fault listed in odb11 on the climate control so hopefully will be an easy swap or maybe just a clean to get it working
-
Aircon issue
In my comparison, the fan speed was manually set to the same speed, in this case Max as it is most noticeable at this speed

Aircon issue
Hi, I have a really strange problem, when my Aircon is set to reserculate the fan blows at full force, however when set to get air from outside the cabin it sounds like it is blocked and very little airflow occurs, not sure where to check first have removed the cabin filter but that has made no difference

fault 01217
I did manage to get this sorted on mine, was actually fairly easy to spot once I got so that I could see under the seat 🙂
