  1. I have just had a rolling road remap at AMD in Essex. using their map as oppossed to Revo. £500.00 Original run standard showed 198.4 Bhp @ 5835rpm and 192.7lb ft torque Run 2 after map delivered 253.7 Bhp@ 5835rpm and 279.1lb ft torque Run 3 After fettling 264,2Bhp@ 5835rpm and 277 Ib ft torque I was well pleased with the figures especially as everything else is standard including air filter and running 95 ron fuel. The car goes like a dream so much torque, just waiting for a dry day to really put the power down. I have since started using 98 ron fuel and average consumption is the same as it was standard which is a blow as I was expecting economy to improve at least slightly. AMd seemed very professional outfit only critisism is they estimated 3 hours and took 5, they do have a waiting area with comfy chairs, magazines, TV (not working) and wireless broadband access. I found lack of interest on this forum for TSI engine at moment and went onto scirrocco forum
  2. Have had my FL VRs TSI 4 months 5000 miles, saw this post other day but cant hear any noise!!
  3. My FL hatch which I got in Sept has the TSI engine and what a peach it is too.... It is 200 Bhp the same as Scirrocco. With a simple remap you could be looking in excess of 260Bhp!! : )
  4. was gutted when I waved goodbye to my remapped mk1 Vrs back in September after 3 years 60000. Five minutes later driving my brand new FL 2.0 TSI petrol I had a grin so big I have never looked back.... 5000 miles later the grin is even bigger!!
  5. Have read some of the replies and add:- I have Citroen G Picasso from Lings who are very efficient, if a little quirky to deal with they are v good at keeping you updated. Insurance totally not an issue I have mine via Elephant from confused, leased vehicle no problems at all. Road tax posted in advance each year Less than 40k miles in 3 years equals 1 minor service suggest £300.00 Tyres not an issue according to my contract unless you give it back bald. Lings just a broker my contract with citroen uk. However my 59 VRs facelift petrol i did on the skoda 'options' type plan over 42 months 42000 miles as I could up the spec and have the option to sell car and pay of finance. Or keeep car at the end etc... I love my Vrs FL even more than my Mk1 it is a fantastic drive and great value not sure why someone would pay 10k more for an Audi?
  6. I have had my FL TSi hatch 2 months 2500miles.... The full (non heated) leather seats are fantastic fuel economy is good and the TSi engine is a (quick) peach! Its a fantastic car!
  7. Have had my white VRs FL hatch for two months now........ it looks fantastic when its clean!!.......... The new TSi engine is such a fantastic drive tho it makes up for having to wash it so much..............
  8. I will answer my own question! according to this link it is a completely new engine. VWvortex Forums: what is the diffrence
  9. Is it not worth you buying a uk car bearing in mind the strong Euro. They are going for under £17000.00 here which would save you at least 8000 Euros.
  10. My new FL has TSi petrol engine. What is the difference between this and the previous TFsi. The engine in my new FL feels much more powerful than that in my remapped MK1 it replaced which surprised me.
  11. yep my one arrived two weeks ago with fitted carpet material mats. And the kids have got them dirty already!
  12. Im 42 with 3 kids 4th on way. Just replaced remapped Mk1 Vrs with brand new facelift petrol Vrs hatch in white. I started with a Burgundy Triumph Toledo! First impressions.... fantastic!
  13. The only reason I went for black leather is having 3 kids the light section on the standard seats would be grubby after a couple of journeys!!
  14. Got the same one changed at a garage £85 inc vat supplied and fitted and I kept my hands clean.
  15. Dont have it chipped (replace chip) just have a remap of the existing. You should notice a big difference in power and torque! Amazing how rude other members can be.
  16. Those seats in link are part leather the VRs FL option is for full leather. My FL with full leather due for delivery in 3 weeks! Will post pics then
  17. The link is to the LE model, limited edition model. Hopefully our seats will be plain and black. i have just ordered a white petrol hatch, due late sept, with these. Im sure you will love it anyway....
  18. ''The DSG box should always be moved to position N when stationary at traffic lights or when traffic has been stationary for a while when using the handbrake otherwise the clutches overheat and burnout prematurely. Holding the car on the footbrake in D releases the clutches'' My Audi A4 DSG did over 100000 in 3 years mainly London/M25 driving never did I put in N.It never overheated!!!!
  19. Try Chris Knott..My mk1 vrs actually went down when I changed from Admiral to them after my remap!
  20. Bullet bitten at last after 2.5 very happy years in my 2004 Mk1 Vrs I have today ordered a new facelift White VRS petrol hatch with leather and spare (spacesaver?) wheel for September delivery. I will be gutted to see the Mk1 go as it has been about the best car i have ever owned for making me smile for some 60000 miles. The only work, outside normal servicing, ever being required was a front wheel bearing. The MK2 seems far more confortable and less exciting.... lets hope im wrong!!

  22. I have the same dilema after owning a mark 1 2004 remapped Vrs for over 2.5 years and 55000 miles. I bought it as a temporary vehicle as I opted out of having a company car previously I had a 1.8T Audi sportline and before that a BMW 325i Msport. Both these cars were great cars but the Skoda is for some reason special to drive and puts a smile on my face whenever I drive it. Who needs loads of toys? Do you ever use them? I know its time to upgrade a mk 2 petrol VRs is my first choice.... could I enjoy a diesel??????? Decisions...Decisions
  23. I have been advised by my local dealer in Kent they are expecting specs and prices before the end of this month. Having missed out on an LE (never sure about its colour) i am chomping at the bit to order a new car. Speak to your dealer and get them to call you immediately they get details.
  24. Has anyone pre ordered a facelift Vrs petrol hatch due I believe early August. I was offered an LE a couple of months ago for @ £16000.00 with the no vat deal but was unsure of the colour, though the full leather was nice. I was just wondering what deals are out there to be had at the dealers? Cheers
