  1. Same for me, very happy with finish and ease of instalation
  2. I am not sure if your Amundsen will have any of this functionality as availability will be introduced at some time in MY15 but when is debatable. I answer to your question. SMARTGATE: it sends vehicle and driving telemetry information to a smartphone, a bit like linking up a diagnostic laptop. Can be retrofitted now MIRRORLINK: you link up an Android smartphone or tablet and the car touchscreen mirrors the Android screen and functionality via the car screen. CARPLAY: same as Android but for Apple Ipads and phones. The main interest for me on this would be the ability to use my Iphone TomTom app on my car screen so no need for Skoda SatNav. If you have had your VRS for a while then its probably certain that you would only be able to retrofit the SmartGate.
  3. Its better to download these onto an SD card and leave it in otherwise the headunit wont show the logo, it doesnt keep them in memory.
  4. Have a look at Atera aerobars. I have had a set for 6 years and still look new, very quiet and solid
  5. Just spec'd up an ST estate against an Octavia VRS petrol and for same spec; the focus was £4K cheaper! However it doesn't have the diff of the 230. I may be on the turn after 6 years with Skoda
  6. Go into settings on the Bolero and switch voice commands on.You don't need VCDS
  7. Having seen some of the figures on this thread my TSI VRS estate doesn't do to badly. 23K on the clock and overall I have about 38mpg. I do a reasonable amount of long journeys during the week and use my ACC; regularly get 40-45mpg at 70-80. I use Tesco or Shell super all the time as I did in my mark 2 VRS TFSI(which did 125K, never skipped a beat). Before anyone comments on my right foot, non motorway driving in the car is a blast!
  8. Check the seat raising lever, mine was tapping against the seat. A small sticky felt pad sorted it.
  9. What I think is interesting is that, other than the Seat Cupra the forum choices are looking towards BMW and Audi or similar level of car. Skoda has come a long way, if you compare a fully laden VRS to an equivalent A4 or 3 series BMW It's a good £10K cheaper. OK, I agree that The VRS isn't as cheap as it once was and Kia et al are cheaper, but has the mark really lost its value for money?
  10. It switches on through infotainment settings. It's a standard feature
  11. I have TomTom on my iPhone which will play voice commands via Bluetooth at the same time as playing music on the iPhone. Set Bluetooth on the car to both phone and music. On the TomTom programme, when it's on Bluetooth , you tap for sound volume and it gives you an option for sound via phone or Bluetooth device, tick and sorted. It may be the same for your satnav programme
  12. I am on an 18K a year PCP and 1 year 5 months in: 23,600miles covered so about 17K a year. I do a fair amount of business miles a month. I agree with Random' just enjoy.
  13. What a waste of time, effort (little!) and certainly money. Minor change to try and justify a huge price hype.
  14. Have a look at Atera roof bars. I have had a set of aero's for 7 years, still look brand new and are much cheaper than Thule.
  15. VRS TSI estate. I can only agree with the previous comments on mpg. I have an overall figure of 35mpg but will get 40-45mpg on a long run.I do about 20K a year.
  16. The arial in the mark 2 had an amplifier under the rubber seal on the roof and was prone to water ingress which affected reception. The mark 3 arials are in the rear window on the saloon and rear side windows on the estate so no water issues.
  17. Happened once with me too. All has been well since then (8 months)
  18. I got 9K out of the conti2s. I had the tracking checked and fixed, it was way out. Replacement F1s have done 10K and still on 8mm.
  19. My noise was the handle that raises the passenger seat tapping on the seat. I put a small piece of felt there and noise gone
  20. I have ACC on my VRS and do a lot of motorway miles, wouldn't be without ACC now.
  21. If anyone is interested tracking before was FRONT Right toe in -1.0 Left toe in +1.50 BACK Right toe in +1.20 Left toe in +0.70 after adjustment all at 0.8
