1. I'm still a big fan and user of EZ products. Recently started using their Geogel alloy wheel cleaner. Disappointingly they stopped doing the EZ Slick tyre dressing - due to cost increase on raw ingredients. The replacement is EZ Revive - for which they kindly sent out a free sample for trial; but just not as good as Slick.
2. I've recently moved to careful use of a steam cleaner for door shuts and engine bay; especially after the winter months. Very please with the results - minimal need for chemicals, until final dress/protect stage.
3. The snowfoam lances for the AB-8 / 9 are decent and mega cheap on eBay. 1/4" Fitting plus example below... 4. Worked out a great product on my last car. Approx 12 months lifespan with regular maintenance. Beading was good, durability acceptable for the price point. 1 bottle is enough for 6+ cars medium size cars. I ended up binning my last bottle as it was going off and i hadnt found the use for it. As an alternative - my new car, i opted for KKD Si-Stal. Similar properties and actually easier to use. Can be used on paint, alloys, plastic and glass! Hope this helps.
5. If you have time to watch some youtube content.... i thoroughly recommend you check out Jon Delieu and the Forensic Detailing Channel... https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC_4lRohBzY20wjsFGWS0Jzg
6. I'm still using the All-Black 8, seems i got a good one.... given all the various batch issues at the time. All Black 9 as you say - would be my recommendation. Service and support from Marcus at DH is great. Accessories and add-on's for the All Black fittings are also mega cheap - which is a bonus. For example - i picked up a spare gun + snow foam lance for £15.99 on ebay; not had to use them as yet though. Always happy to support a local business too
7. +1 for this guy! Highly recommended
8. Have a look on their eBay outlet as well; some bargains to be had.
9. Fair enough - my Karchers did me proud but the All Black series for compactness were a winner in the end. Let us know how you get on with it.
10. I'm looking at the All Black 9 as well.... when my 8 finally dies; but so far so good - its 2 years in and running well on light duties. The accessories via eBay are dirt cheap and in the long run have saved me a fortune since didtching karcher. Marcus and the guys at Direct Hoses will look after you - they have been great with me.
11. A lovely product and great value. You cant go wrong with FK1000P
12. Very useful gadget indeed. Imran at in2detailing and Dave at CleanYourCar have them also. Detail Guardz or Hose Eez i think are the terms to search on.
13. Wanted to update this post that i got a set of the Betron BN15 BT headphones for the kids recently. Decided to test them out myself and was mega impressed..... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Betron-Bluetooth-Headphones-Wireless-Microphone-black/dp/B01M8FLGB2/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1537195140&sr=8-3&keywords=betron+bn15 £24.99 normally; but got them on one of the Amazon day deals at £18 delivered... May not be for everyone, and i'm not an audiophile in any way. Main use is for music whilst around the house and youtube sessions on iPad. But they are comfortable, easy to setup, pair, control, range is good and battery lasts me about a week between charges.
14. Welcome aboard Chris - good luck with your range of products. For the Briskoda guys who know me, i've dealt with Chris previously and found his advice very helpful and all transactions have gone smoothly/promptly. So - I have no problem in recommending Chris at HD Car Care. Cheers, Ste. PS. Chris - I'm still interested in the next gen tyre dressing when sampling starts!
15. Lookout for the Powermaxxed combos on special offer in 5L. Very popular on the budget end of things and with weekend warriors.... Shampoo and Ultra wax or Jet Wash & Wax Every so often ECP have them discounted.
16. hahaha - i've just started my last bottle; hence i was abut to re-order. Time to try out some options on tyre dressing... EZ Revive TAC Tire Coat Gyeon Tyre Waxaddict Tyre Dressing ... all on the list to try out.
17. Just wanted to resurrect this topic on EZ Car Care. My main products from EZ are Sleek interior and Slick Tyre dressing. Unfortunately this year Slick was discontinued due to high pricing on some raw chemical components; and it has been replaced with Revive as a more generic Trim & Tyre style product. I wasnt convinced - but the give them their due - they sent out a free 500ml bottle to try! Received today, not tried as yet - but as always, very happy with the service from EZ.
18. BMD Revolutions Wheel Wax is my long term favourite. 2 coats of this - a doddle to use... then Sonax BSD top-up after maintenance washes.
19. All good products and deliver great results - no question on that. Megs polishes though - just a bit dusty if over worked i find. Some of the newer Sonax, Gyeon, Koch Chemie compounds are much lower dust ..plus longer working times too thanks to a much improved carrier system in the polish. Worth a try if you get chance
20. Likewise - grabbed a bottle of EXOv4 in the recent launch offer. Not done the whole car as yet - but fitted new mirror caps & coated! Superb water behaviour and makes it easy to wipe off the bugs as well. Very easy to use and overall a very impressive product.
21. A few products i have stuck with for a some time now.... Zaino Z6 Gtechniq G5 Meguiars APC Autoglym Glass Polish Auto Finesse Dressle
22. +1 for the clay mitt as well; slick shampoo mix always gets good results and minimal marring - IMO. One trick in addition to the above suggestions; using minimal pressure...."listen" to the clay mitt catching the contaminants. You will be able to here it catch the surface elements and obviously get quieter as they are removed, when using a back and forward claying action.
23. The AM Details clay bar 200g white fine grade gets great reviews. https://www.amdetails.co.uk/clay-bar Found the same/similar clay bare now on sale at HDD and In2Detailing. So quite a saving if bought from therer.... Waxstock price from in2detailing was £8.... so i grabbed a few.
24. Another good event this year..... it was very busy. Karl & i went down the his Dad's vRS for the Show n Shine - always good fun. Managed to get some Gyeon RIM, Sonax Perfect Finish, Gtechniq stocks replenished and some new clay bars from In2detailing..... same as AMDetails clay but half the price!
