Water leak - how to remove boot compartment trim
Fair enough mate but you shouldn’t have to. I wouldn’t be comfortable using silicone on something that was probably faulty on the production line.. Mine took 3 months because the dealer couldn’t find where the leak was coming from. At least if you can pinpoint it they can do an immediate fix. You shouldn’t have to settle for a “bodge it” fix for a leak mate, get it sorted properly, demand that your supplying dealership sorts it out as a priority.

Water leak - how to remove boot compartment trim
Hopefully it’s not the same as mine then. However, I made sure I was compensated by both the supplying dealership and Skoda UK. Three months without a car I’d only had for 2 weeks tested my patience a tad. As for removing the boot trim I can’t help you I’m afraid, but hopefully someone will be along shortly to assist. Hope you pinpoint and resolve the problem soon mate.

Rattles and Creaks
My Kamiq is the best car I’ve ever owned for rattles and creaks. Hardly any. I’ve driven Audis, (crappy) BMW’s and everything in between and the Kamiq is by far the better built and put together. Maybe you got a Friday afternoon car? There ISNT a car out there that at some point doesn’t creak or rattle, fact. The complexity of a built car coupled with the imperfections of roads means that at some point any car will rattle/creak/vibrate. Granted, some more than others but still, every single car ever built has and will creak/rattle/vibrate at some point. Simple physics.

Water leak - how to remove boot compartment trim
I thought it was this too, but it wasn’t. Your case is sounding remarkably like mine in that the leak came from a micro hole in the factory welding on the bodywork. If I was you I’d take it to the dealers. My rear light cluster trim wasn’t flush either and still isn’t ( I think you’ll find that’s normal) and now that the hole in the welding has been fixed I’ve had zero leaks, DESPITE the light trim still not being flush. Mate, I think you are clutching at straws, I’d let the dealer look at it.

Considering a 2020 Kamiq 1.0 TSI SE L DSG - anything to be aware of?
Whilst the 1.0 115 bhp may be “nippy” (you gotta love a dodgy backstreet car dealer term😂) the 1.5 148 bhp DSG is bordering on pretty fast in comparison, so my recommendation would be the 1.5 DSG. Furthermore, the mpg difference is pretty negligible for the increase in performance. Plus, you don’t have that horrible lawnmower engine sounding thrum of the 3 cylinder🙄. And yes, I’ve driven the 115bhp before anyone asks🙄 DISCLAIMER - these are only my opinions folks, no offence meant🤣

Lane assist is dangerous
I’m not having a pop at you matey, I’m just saying that those saying lane assist is dangerous are missing the point. It’s not lane assist that’s the problem it’s our roads. Lane assist on its own is NOT dangerous, fact.
-
Lane assist is dangerous
You said it, in an ideal world it would not be dangerous BUT because of the state of our roads some think it is dangerous. So, it’s not the lane assist technology that’s dangerous, it’s our roads that COULD make it dangerous. It goes back to the same thing, lane assist is not dangerous…..blame the roads.

Lane assist is dangerous
Absolutely it’s a safety measure and even though I turn mine off I get why some don’t. I’ve had a lot of heat on here by saying that the system is not dangerous and I stand by it. And yes, driving through heavy traffic/red lights etc at speed gives a pretty similar rush to the best theme park ride you’ve ever been on🙂

Stop start rarely works.
Firstly, my reply was intended to play down the whole “stop/start” phenomenon and was supposed to reassure people that for it to work so many variables have to be right…..that was all. I don’t appreciate semi aggressive responses for comments I made that meant no harm or offence. And no, I DONT profess to know the ins and outs of a system that is as random as stop/start BUT I’ve had enough cars with this system to know that it’ll work when everything is right and won’t when it’s not. So, to protect yourself from offence (when none was meant) just don’t read my posts in future, simple as that. I was once told that you’ll never win an argument with a fool, so let’s leave it there and may our paths never cross on here again. Have an amazing day👍

I am in the Fire Service and drive the Mercedes Benz 1327 “Dual Purpose Ladder”, and on occasions a MAN High Volume Pump.

Lane assist is dangerous
Agreed, but the training they have received (and the test they/we have HAD to pass) should still make them a cut above a normal road user, even if their skill set isn’t as high as others. And yes I switch mine off too, end of the lethal/deadly/dangerous lane assist😂😂

Lane assist is dangerous
Every single blue light driver SHOULD be spot on every single time, no excuses. It’s not like we are poodling to the shops for a loaf of bread, we often drive at speed in busy traffic (London for me), negotiating red traffic lights and busy roundabouts. We were trained to “Roadcraft” standards and every drive should be given 100% concentration, no excuses. Im sure this will somehow offend some people (my posts tend to😂) but I won’t apologise for it, blue light drivers should be a cut above. Anyway, last assist is still not dangerous 😂😂

Thanks, always nice to meet like minded people👍

Lane assist is dangerous
Agreed, annoying at worst but NOT dangerous. Back in the day (circa 2004) this place was a sensible, amusing and interesting forum where people on the whole respected others opinions and we had interesting debates even if we disagreed. These days, peppered with one or two argumentative idiots🙄😂😂

Lane assist is dangerous
Wrong again mate🙄😂😂

Lane assist is dangerous
Contradicts? You must be reading something very different I’m afraid, I’ve said on this and other threads that lane assist is in NO way dangerous. Yes, it vibrates and pulls the steering wheel lightly…..are you really telling me that you, as a grown man (or even woman) haven’t got the minuscule amount of strength required to coax it back to where you want to go? Come on mate, you must be winding me up🤷🏻♂️ I live in an area where potholes are very commonplace, and on the odd occasion I’ve forgotten to turn off lane assist it has directed me towards one or two of those potholes……but like the system is designed for I gently coaxed the steering wheel to where I wanted the car to go. This is either a wind up OR you seriously need to go and lift some (very light) weights. If you feel that this safety feature is dangerous then I suggest you go and buy an older car without it, because most (if not all) modern cars have it. OR, instead of moaning about it just turn it off…….you’re welcome👍 Pathetic and hilarious in equal measure😂😂😂

Lane assist is dangerous
I couldn’t give a flying monkey whether it holds or not, the fact is that lane assist is in no way dangerous. Unless you have the muscle mass of a 3 month old baby it is NOT dangerous and anyone who says it is (you for instance) is just being dramatic. Im afraid that it is you who is being hilarious and naive, because if you are seriously telling me with a straight face that a slight vibration on the steering wheel is dangerous then you either need to see a doctor about your lack of muscle mass OR your car needs to be checked for a fault. Lane assist is in NO way dangerous, just a mild inconvenience at worst and I stand by it 100%. You really think a major car manufacturer would incorporate a “safety measure” that was even remotely dangerous? Mate, go sit in a dark corner and give your head a wobble. Jesus😂😂 P.S. I think David Lloyd gym’s have an offer on at the moment mate, might be worth a phone call👍

Stop start rarely works.
You chaps can’t have anything else to worry about. Stop/start has been erratic in every car I’ve ever had, from my current Kamiq, to a new Audi A3 to a new facelift Peugeot 208 and one or two In between. Ive never worried about a system that requires all the planets to align before it works properly, life is far too short😂 Mine works sometimes, and sometimes it doesn’t. Luckily (or not) I have far more important things to worry about.

Paint code - roof rails?
Just any paint that’s black no? I too have a Monte Carlo and if I scratched my roof rails I’d just order black touch up paint. Am I missing something??

Water in boot
Honestly mate it was beyond frustrating. I’d only had the car for 2-3 weeks, then it went into the dealership for the next 3 months. I posted about it at the time. Ask your dealer to check the weld points, it might save a lot of time with them ruling out other possibilities.

Kamiq signal lights
Dynamic rear and static front would wind me up, surely they should be one or the other. If I ordered a car expecting both but only got one I’d be properly pee’d off.
