No Graham I am not. In fact, you are one of the very few credible posters on this forum in my opinion. You are right, gadgets like lane assist will be more or less the same within a certain motor group of cars, but lane assist between different manufacturers is most definitely calibrated differently in terms of sensitivity etc, that’s what I was trying to say.

Exactly this^. This is about the cars we drive (Skoda Kamiq) so it’s irrelevant how other cars perform. In all my years of car forums I’ve never read a more pointless thread than this one, lane assist in the Kamiq is a minor inconvenience at worst, and I’m convinced that people like MP1983 are plants to try and lift the mood somewhat…..because everything he says about lane assist is simply hilarious, bless him😂

Me too mate, but on the odd occasion I forget it’s really no issue…..certainly not life or death like some on here seem to think🙄😂😂

Brilliant, funniest thing I’ve read for ages 😂😂 1. I do indeed have that car, and it IS a slight nudge/vibration 2. Nope I’m in the Fire Service 3. I’ve been called worse😘 Mate, I seriously suggest you get to the gym, because my 8 stone slightly built missus has NO issues with lane assist. Again, embarrassing 😂😂😂
  5. Same here. My missus just px’d her 70 plate Fabia which she had for 2 years which I drove regularly and the Kamiq seating is noticeably higher than the Fabia, and it isn’t on the highest setting. The drivers view of the road, side and rear is very good in my opinion. Ive owned all sorts of cars, from Audi to Peugeot to Ford etc but the Kamiq MC is head and shoulders better than all of them.

As I’ve said before, I am in Essex BUT I live in very rural Essex where the nearest gritted road is approx 2 miles from my house. Yes, Essex doesn’t get the snow that say Scotland gets BUT snow is snow and ice is ice and we get our fair share. I’ve just never felt the need to go to the trouble of swapping my wheels/tyres for a handful (if that) of days each winter. Not knocking those who do, just saying it’s not for me.

I’ve been driving for over 30 years and have NEVER used winter tyres in the winter, and thus far I’ve never even been close to having a snow/ice related incident, leads me to believe it’s a bit of a marketing ploy which many people fall for. Granted, if I lived in Iceland or Canada I’d probably consider it, but here in the UK we might get a few inches at worst…..nothing a standard tyre can’t handle (provided you drive accordingly). Im sure the winter wheel/tyre fans will have a pop at me and that’s fine, but in my opinion they are not needed (not for me anyway). If you are concerned just go for an all weather tyre, covers all bases 👍
  9. 🤣🤣
  10. No, I didn’t think you would😂 Peace and love🤘
  11. Strange, seeing as your first post on this subject states that “it’s a job I must get round to doing”, which in turn means that it bothers you. So no, I’m not confusing you with someone else…..maybe you have some kind of memory loss🤷🏻‍♂️ You have fun putting all that time and effort into having a deeper horn tone, some of us have better things to worry about. Have fun mate👍
  12. Calm down mate, Jesus🤣 You worry yourself silly over something so insignificant it’s laughable, I couldn’t give a monkeys. Have fun ripping your car apart just to have a deeper sounding horn, I hope it makes you feel a bit more manly whenever you have to use it. I have far better things to worry about. Horses for courses😘
  13. I do own one, mine is a 21 Kamiq MC and yes the horn is weak……and? I have far FAR better things to worry about than a feeble sounding horn which I might use once a month. Horses for courses😂😂
  14. All this effort for something you use very rarely and for only a split second? Jesus, that’s commitment 😂
  15. Give it a day or two and it’ll be fine, just another vag gremlin. I’ve had enough vag cars over the years to know that’s it’s ‘normal’.
  16. I live daaaan saaaf mate, although the relevance of this is lost on me😂. I won’t comment on the rest of your post as I’ve no idea what the hell you are going on about🤷🏻‍♂️ Happy motoring my Scottish friend😘
  17. I couldn’t agree more, they are not all “sh!ts” BUT dealerships need to be dealt with by being assertive, otherwise in the majority they will try to wriggle out of things they think they can get away with. You can tell a dealer to deal with a warranty repair or replacement without being rude, but you have to be direct. Id love to live in your fairytale land where dealerships do exactly what you expect, unfortunately most of us live in the real world mate.
  18. You are wrong, and no I don’t work in a dealership (I couldn’t think of anything more boring). If something fails on a car within the warranty period and you KNOW it’s a warrantied repair then no amount of dealer “knock backs” will prevent you getting it repaired/replaced under warranty. Not for me anyway, the snowflakes amongst us might have a different outcome. So, if you need a warranty repair/replacement then you politely tell them to sort it, being an apologetic snowflake will give them the green light to try it on, I know…….ive dealt with many a Stealer in my time. Assertiveness is key. Take this blokes advice and brace yourself for a sh!t load of grief🙄😂😂
  19. Absolutely, you can tell them to fix it in a nice and polite way….the end result is still the same🙄
  20. Yes you can just tell them to fix it. Obviously they’ll always inspect first but if you know that something has failed etc and it’s a warrantied item AND you know that it’s not of your doing you CAN just tell them to fix it, what else are you supposed to say?
  21. Take it to dealer and tell them to fix it. It is a warranty issue.

If you are telling me that a slight vibration/nudge on your steering wheel is dangerous then I’d suggest you stop moaning about it and get another car (preferably without lane assist). My missus has lane assist too and not once has she ever mentioned it as being an issue…..let alone dangerous. Embarrassing 😂
  23. The Kamiq is more than adequate, the difference between the Kamiq and something bigger is negligible…..unless she converts an old bus🤷🏻‍♂️
  24. carefree replied to a post in a topic in Škoda Kamiq
Nope, we do drive through red light but with caution. The speed I was referring to applied to all other scenarios.
  25. Oh mate come on…..are you telling me that something with thousands of moving parts which rolls on our rough, bumpy and potholed roads can have literally zero rattles? Granted, you might not have been too sensitive to them but trust me, those cars had rattles and/or vibrations, fact. Some cars are far worse than others, but every car has them, fact. Its simple physics mate, simple as that.
