  1. Rolling the car in neutral is illegal afaik as you aint in full control of the vehicle. I do, however, when I can, run in neutral as I also thought it conserved fuel. I'm confused now...so if the car is in gear it will use less petrol than in neutral? Surely fuel is also needed to keep the engine running even if momentum is turning the engine. Why this would be less than in neutral I dont know:confused:
  2. If I wanted an economical car I would have bought an oil burner...why have a Vrs and drive like a 'carpet slipper wearing, parcel shelf cushioning, caravan pulling, white hair adorned OAP'? Infuriates me to see some pleb in a sports car driving 20 mph below the speed limit holding up traffic. 300 to a tank normal..had it down to 220 driving 'briskly'. Ps Yes I was late for work today because of a prime example of the above...grrrr:mad:
  3. Turns out it isn't the rad mounts afterall. It seems to be a pipe that is rubbing something...the car has got to go back to the dealer so they can investigate and rectify (hopefully). I'll keep you posted.
  4. My RS has gone back to dealers today with what sounds like the same problem. I'm having the radiator mounts changed which apperently is 'a day job' as the front bumper and radiator need removing. Squeeks when going over minor bumps etc
  5. Its illegal and also immoral (you would look a ****) imo. Did the same to my 1st car (clio) and used the blue tint(yes...I too looked a ****). To get it looking half decent (if thats possible!) you will need to spray laquer over the top of the tint to give it the gloss finish. You may also need to buy some reflective tape as the reflectors in your lights will no longer work. Did this to mine and it passed the mot (failed without).....still looked a **** tho.
  6. A meshed sponge works for me.
  7. Radiator mounts - dealer Dirty maf - dealer colapsed lumber support - dealer and diet
  8. Old VRS looks the nuts. New one looks plain in comparison. I do prefer the interior of the new one tho.
  9. Had exactly the same problem. I persoanlly don't think its down to the brand of petrol. Its probably a dirty MAF sensor. Do a search to find out how to clean it. Had mine done and its been fine since. I usuauly run on 98RON when I can find it, the loss of boost has happened twice, once with 98ron, once with 95 and both were different brands.
  10. Wheels with spokes that fold inwards will also give the visual impression that the wheel size is smaller than actual, not what you really want for a furby imo.
  11. Stone chips and light scratches plague the Octy due to the cheap paint used.
  12. I wouldn't say its 'normal'. I get no such noise around those speeds in my RS. Have you noticed this sound before and have you changed anything to create the problem (tyres/alloys etc) have you recently curbed the alloys? Go and get your wheels checked for balancing/tracking to eliminate this possibility.
  13. The silver isn't really silver in the RS it's more of an anthracite colour with black spots:O. Would look much better if it were brushed aluminium imo:cool:
  14. I only notice flickering when going over potholes or bumps in the road. Any other time they are just like halogen...except brighter. There is no manual levelling switch. The only fault I can give to the xenons are that I sometimes get flashed at night because oncoming traffic think I have full beam on:mad:
  15. Glad I bought silver. No problems so far (1yr old). The paint coming off on the cloth is normal for a good polish as it shows it is removing 'oxidised' paint. Just ensure you wax the 'new' paint underneath afterwards.
  16. I bought the OctyRS coz I needed a family car so it needed to have space. I also wanted a hot hatch. The Octy was the best comprimise between space, speed and price. I like to think the Octy is in a 'class' of its own:thumbup: As for 'competitors' I would have to exclude anything with 2 doors, which means most of the hot hatches. Best comparison to the Octy is the Leon Cupra...almost identical under the skin. The Vag group saw a niche in the market and exploited it imo much to our delight.
  17. If the other parts they fitted didn't solve the problem I would have demanded my money back in the first place! Second, why are you still going to the same garage if they are so incompetent at fault diagnosis? I certainly wouldn't spend anymore cash there in the 'hope' they will get it right this time.
  18. Thanks for that:thumbup:. Clifford logo sounds cool:)
  19. I have a Clifford G5 950 (CAT 1). The alarm and sensors all still work fine but I have noticed that the blue flahing led(?) isn't working anymore. This is obviously a good deterent when working so is it an easy fix and how would I go about it? Loose wire or replacement of led...cost etc?
  20. Dunno if its available for the xbox but I bought Need for speed underground 2 for the PC a while back and its damn addictive. The races are a little easy once you have modified the car but it has longetivity as to keep modifying you need to keep winning. Among the tuners available (ECU upgrade) are REVO:D, sadly the closest you are going to get to a skoda in this game is a VW golf or an A3. The Skyline is gr8 fun tho:D
  21. They wont need cleaning as much as standards but to the untrained eye they will always look dirty. I like em but they would look better on a black Octy imo.
  22. Bought a Panasonic Viera Plasma (42") a few months ago (
  23. Admiral and Bell direct (a sub of Admiral) both insure modified cars. Admiral were cheaper for me this time around. Anyone who dosn't declare mods and is then found to have lied deserves everything the law throws at them. I checked my premium with and without remap and the difference was only
