  1. My wife actually likes the 320 M Sport too, I think it looks a bit bland compared to the 5 series and pretty hard to tell apart from the non sport models. The 5 series just looks meaner and is a fabulous car for space and comfort Anyway that was all in the past....back to checking out ebay for a sat nav unit...lol
  2. good job, the exhaust tip really finishes it off nicely, need to get out and scrub mine now...lol
  3. How's things going with the Angel remap?I spoke to Paul at Angel tuning the other week and looking to get my Tfsi done soon
  4. Looks great, I posed the question the other day about colour coding the front skoda badge, replacing the green part of the badge with the colour of the car. I'm still sure this would look mint and when it comes to colour coding my grille I'll be trying this. Might even try colour coding the Skoda badge first in corrida red. When I get round to it I'll post the resultss.
  5. Unfortunately it's not my car or I'd have sent you a pic. Maybe I could pm you a pic of my own corrida red Octy for you to have a go?
  6. As the title suggests, nearly traded the car today It's a 2006 (06) Octy VRS Tfsi, which is a fantastic carm just started getting the itch so found a lovely black 55 plate beemer 5 series m sport and managed to get a 7k trade in price for the Octy:rolleyes: Anyway, the wife put her foot down and that was that. I'm glad she did to be honest. drove the Octy tonight and thought about what a waste of money it would have been. It was going to be 8k on top of my car and for what? I certainly wasn't getting 8k worth of equipment, performance or even reliability. now decided to spend some cash on the Octy instead and enjoy more trouble free happy motoring. Now that I've saved 8k I can justufy a remap, tints, and maybe some more wee goddies.
  7. I,ve been using megs quick detailer spreay for a while. I then found out that water with a tiny drop of fabric conditioner is every bit as good, I've used this three times and it's been great....no probs whatsoever. cheap, works well...no issues, give it a go honestly!
  8. Thanks..looks great. Anyone got the patience or the "know how" to photoshop the green paint on the skoda badge to red....I think this would look great!
  9. Looks great, love the colour coded badge. I was thinking about doing my corrida red pne a few months back but thought the badge looked a bit out of place. Now I've seen yours I think getting the badge done with all the green replaced with red for my car would look the nuts. Could be onto a new common mod here....
  10. Henrys Skoda in Glasgow told me 4 years. Mine will only have about 40k on it at that point but I'll be getting it done.
  11. I'm flabberghasted! Didn't know anyone still tuned in to anything on AM....lol. I thought everything was either FM or digital so haven't even tried my AM reception. I'll try it later.
  12. sounds very good. If the 2.0 Tfsi w3as driven for a full tank very conservatively and alwyas changing gear before the turbo started spooling up would it have the same MPG? Same engine etc, so should be prety similar. I've only averaged 31.1 over the last 1000 miles or so, but can when driving very conservatively get 37mpg to work and 35mpg going home.
  13. 600 miles between washes is quite a bit imo, what colour is your car, some colours such as silver can look clean for ages whereas others such as black look dirty again after 50 or so miles. I give mine a shampoo with megs gold class at least weekly. I wax at least monthly and 2-3 times a year I clay it, it's hard work but very worth it, I never let the car get dirty and always find it only takes a 20 minute hand wash as the dirt lifts very easily. As for the wheels, I wash them and use a wheel brush to do the backs when washing the car weekly. I'm actually a bit obsessive about having a clean car and tbh get great satisfaction from keeping it tip top all of the time, all my neighbours must think I'm mental...lol
  14. Got a bit confused with the polishing and sealing part. Washed first with Megs Gold class, then clayed with Megs clay and a dilute mix of water and fabric conditioner (works very well), wasn't sure whether to put on the Autoglym sealant or polish first. Ended up polishing with AG ultra deep shine (black label), then AG paint sealant (gold label), then applied a coat of zymol cleaner wax as this stuff offers great protection and the water really beads off it. Never dressed the tyres as I forgot to pick up the tyre gel at halfords (doh)
  15. Thought it was about time I posted up some pics of the pride and joy. Spent yesterday washing claying sealing and waxing, long may this weather last. Hope the links work.

  17. Are there any tuners in Scotland doing us discounts? If not can anyone advise on who gives the best value for money. I'm not spending 500 quid so it looks like the Revo map from Drivers is out of the question, might also give angel tuning a call as I believe the can come to the house to do it. I've heard lots of positive stuff about Star Performance too, lots of choices, just comes down to cost and what the general consensus is here on professionalism, customer service and value for money. Any ideas or advice are most welcome
  18. The halfords stuff is fine, Don't let the name put you off as halfords don't make it, they have to buy from a supplier who will be someone like shell, castrol or mobile as those are the guys who pruduce the stuff.
  19. My wife got palmed off for two years regarding headaches, Gp and practice nurse said it was migraines......she's now going through 2nd bout of chemo after having radiotherapy. Never ignore your body or gut instinct, Thanks to Jade a lot of others will be caught before things progress too far.
  20. My heart goes out to all her family and especsially her two boys who I might remind some folk have lost their mother to a horrible and devastating disease. I'm just glad her illness and death have been so public, folk might find it in their hearts to take notice of the amazing cancer charities and and the folk all over the country who really need their help. Jade has helped and for that I'm sure there at least a few folk on here who recognise the loss of a young mother, daughter and wife was not completely in vain. didn't realise there were so many folk out there with so little respect for human life, maybe one day they might understand how innapropriate and disheartening some comments must be to those on the forum who are suffering or losing a close one due to cancer.
  21. I'm with the AA, got the full package for a quarter of the price with a promo that was posted out to me. It's also quarter of the price if you pay using Tesco clubcard vouchers, essentially that would mean free! happy days!
  22. I've read quite a bit on this and eventually found out that acetone is already in forecourt petrol in varying very small amounts. I also found out it does as said above raise mpg without causing any issues. It can be quite expensive to buy depending on where you buy from, best to buy direct from main supplier or even a company that supply fibre glassing marerials. I've not tried it myself as I've only had the Octy a few months and still getting a good feel for it. I will try it soon though.
  23. looks great, just mind to be careful when negotiating unlit car parks etc at night, the view through your rear side windows is drastically dulled.
  24. I thought 300 quid was a fair price for 17s', and sold them no probs. I paid 400 for a mint set of 18s' with practicaly new tyres off ebay and was completely happy, I'd have paid a good bit more as the tyres alone were worth nearly 500 quid.
  25. Those wheels really don't do it for me. Race blue looks best with nice bright alloys IMO.
