  2. Hi I own a MK2 Octavia VRS 2008 2.0TFSI. I have just taken off my winter tyres (225/45/17) which are the same size as my summer tyres. The garage i brought the tyres off charged me 420pound balanced and fitted for the winter tyres (cooper snow master; which were excellent in the snow and cold weather). I stored the summer tyres in my shed. When i came back on thursday i was shocked to be told it wasnt free like agreed when i brought the tyres in October. So i was billed 42.50 to change from 4 winter back to 4 summer tyres with wheel change/balance. So now i am looking for a set of alloys to put my winter tyres on to avoid this 42.50 charge! I have been looking on ebay and have 3-4 shortlisted which are either VW / Audi wheel the 4 spoke ones. Obviously im sure ive read but cant find it what alloy wheels you need for the VRS. I have so far found them at 17" size alloy with 5 stud pattern. Now the question i need to find out... is that all i need to do obviously get 17" alloys and a 5 stud pattern. But is there anything else i need to check like rim width, offset? Any help would be appreciated. I don't need to buy alloys with tyres on as i have these but if the alloys come with them im not fussed as can scrap tyres if there no good or sell on. i live in west midlands about 15mile south of birmingham. If any one can help either with knowing someone who has some for sale or answer the above id appreciate it. im not looking to pay 300 pound upwards as i only need alloys so around 100quid which i can find on ebay but unsure if just looking for 17" alloys and 5 stud pattern is enough? Cheers Ryan
  3. hi i dont see why not. I think i paid £60 for a karcher when on offer. I do find Karcher to be the best and last the longest. But it depends on budget i guess. just remember stand to the side and spray your lance at an angle never full on as over time you may be suprised in the damage it can do to paintwork. Ryan
  4. Hi Chris, I have just sent my payment through via Paypal. I was a late entry I trust this is ok? Cheers Ryan

  6. There is a guide I use on dw for machine polishing. Using dual action machine. Really good guide I've taught myself using that. Start slow with not of product on the pad and the less abrasive and work upwards depending on your objective. Ryan
  7. Hi, I've done a search and read over some posts but i'm still unsure. I have a MK2 VRS Octavia hatchback and i wondered is it possible to retro fit scandinavian drls? Ive looked on ebay and alot of people sell the LED version which range from £10 to £35. I just wondered if anyone had fitted these and got some pictures? It seems you need VCDs? I dont have any equipement like this and im in the west midland area in Bromsgrove. So if there is anyone locally whether another forum member or garage that could help me with the above on price and whether it is possible i'd be gratefull. Ryan

  16. Go to www.blackcircles.com I'm using Michelin pilot primacy and there quiet, when there ready for replacement I'll switch to it's replacement which are the Michelin primacy HP. Blackcircles is good IMO as you pay them and pick a garage near you who they work with and you pick date and am/pm slot and just sign a form when done for the garage to claim there money back. Ryan

  23. Best and easiest option is just reload windows, i always find once you go down the registry root and this space optimiser applications it can just make it worst. It dont sound like yove reloaded XP in years so give it a go if the above fails or makes it worst. Ryan
