  1. I'm afraid I'm not going to agree for it to be within individuals chosen timeframes, no. In reality some people have had their maps for a fair amount of time before this problem became apparent, the only people who actually notified us of this problem off their own backs were OllieH and PaulMoVRS. Others have since come forward but there are a lot of people who have had their maps for months and longer without a hint of an issue. For once, we are adamant that this is a car issue and while we're working hard to resolve it, we still don't have a car to work on (to be honest it's difficult to do when someone only has a couple of hours and waits with the car), and, to be brutally honest, it could even be said that while the remap appears to make the problem worse for you, it's not actually our problem. So, that said. We are working on a fix, which we believe we have in theory. We have already tried a couple of fixes on PaulMoVRS's car via STS some of which he said had almost sorted it. We have also tried some on OllieH's car which didn't help his problem. So, in my opinion, we need to be given a reasonable amount of time to solve the issue. As we don't believe the issue is our fault in the first place, I think a bit of extra slack is required. Therefore at this time I'm not going to agree to opening the floodgates on a blanket refund policy. So, having said that also, here's what I propose. Mikko will be working from Mansfield on the weekend of 27th-30th May. We will keep bookings free for that Saturday to ensure we have time to work on it. We are offering for those guys that have the surge to come and see us on that Saturday to have us map around their issues. This gives people plenty of time to ensure that they are free on that day, and make arrangements if required. There will of course be no charge for this work as part of our commitment to good customer service. Those who cannot attend or who don't want to and own STS units, well we'll have to ask you guys to wait until at least the week commencing 30/05/11 before we decide how to proceed but by then, this issue should be well and truly nailed, and put to bed. If a resolution is not then forthcoming, we'll deal with each case individually. Could you please add your names to the list below for a visit to Shark Performance on 28/05/11: 1 2 3 4 5
  2. Yes that's a rip off. Including diagnostics etc our price would have been £8 switch (or whatever) then £22.50+vat labour!
  3. What do you need doing? We can cater for most things with our STS.
  4. Check the fuse box in the engine bay for water ingress or corrosion.
  5. That's nice to hear from the guy who definitely wins the all-time distance award... driving to see us from Kosovo!
  6. I remember you yes Might be a bit of a squeeze today, can you make any other days this week?
  7. Interesting information Bodge, as we had wondered if there's a link between the age old 17705 Pressure Drop error and this issue. Given that your car definitely had the 17705 problem as it went limp on our first test drive, which we then killed in the software, it makes me wonder if these other cars have exactly the same issue.
  8. Unfortunately there is no such thing for VAG, regardless of whether a dealer offers it or not.
  9. With the new UDS cars there's actually a measuring block for the checksum in the list if you're using VCDS. It's there in some other ecus (MED9 I think and probably CAN MEDC17s) but wasn't documented so you had to find it manually.
  10. Yep pretty often but Mikko and I work very effectively regardless of whether he's here or not. It's obviously worth thinking about, nothing to lose.
  11. Haha! I presume that one checks the software number and original checksum?
  12. Damn, I don't own a Yeti, is this still applicable to me?
  13. Yes it's detectable (there's no such thing as an undetectable map) and yes it can be put back to the standard map but it will still be detectable should someone look.
  14. We tune the CR170 to 210hp, and we do lots of new cars, most recentl'y janner_Sy's brand new Fabia VRS 1.4TSI as seen here: http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/200831-stage-12-remap-now-installed-on-the-vrs/page__pid__2382266#entry2382266 I would suggest 1,000 miles just to make sure there are no teething issues, but we have done plenty of brand spankers too without issue
  15. So can I please clarify, you did have surging originally, you went to a different map with no surging and now you're on our map with no surging too?
  16. Clive, seriously, are you some kind of propaganda agent for r-tech? I have only met Nick a couple of times and spoke to him by email too, as has Mikko, and neither of us think he's the kind of pig-headed arrogant elitist type who would actually say what you've said! Either you are completely deluded by thinking that and you've made it up of your own accord, or you've been told it and you've been recycling that information. I don't know which it is for sure, but I really don't think Nick is the kind of person to come out with such a load of rubbish! Quite. Now given that you're not helping or contributing to this thread whatsoever, may I respectfully ask that you leave it to the guys who have issues so we can get it resolved. Thankyou.
  17. That's funny, because he emailed me about this specific problem and told me that he had.
  18. Indeed it's possible and we do many of them.. Will ensure that the website is amended to suit and thanks for pointing it out!
  19. The problem seems to be isolated to two software versions and only certain cars with those software numbers do it. The problem is there on a standard car as we've shown in a dyno plot earlier in the thread. Mapping the car makes it worse but it isn't something we've caused.
