If you car is 2WD then you don't have a DPF to worry about. Most remaps should give you an increase to 175-180hp

That's just a resistor in a box. Save your money and save your DPF.

So far we have a couple of theories, one being that certainly 2 of the cars we have experienced this on have had trial maps from other tuners on in the past. We also have found that the software versions affected have a problem with the IAT axis where it tops out earlier than it does in other versions of the software, which could cause the car to correct for a problem that's not even there.

I wasn't making you personally sound like any kind of cowboy, what I was saying is that in that situation, no matter how well you try to get out of it, the police will have your car away. Hope that clears things up

This has been discussed before and no, you can't do it. If you were stopped (likely due to ANPR etc) then as much as you try to spin a yarn about booking it in for an MoT etc etc and trying to interpret the law to your advantage, you'll end up having the car taken away which will then cost you a whole lot more than if you'd just trailered it in the first place. If you do it, it's a huge risk and in the event of an accident I would absolutely expect your insurance to be invalidated. And before anyone mentions it, you can't drive it on trade plates either!

I just thought it might be worth popping my head in here. We've only experienced this problem three times and have done scores of Octavia VRSs, even tested two cars back to back with exactly the same software. We are working with Ollie to get this sorted however it is proving hard to find a time when we are both available to look at it for a length of time. Once we have sorted it on that car we may have a better idea on what to tell other customers (PaulMoVRS namely) and if we come across the same problem in the future.

Not an easy job, you have to dismantle quite a lot of the RHS of the car to get it off. I wouldn't like to do it without a ramp.
