  1. Saw two pre-facelift Yeti in Protaras, Cyprus whilst on holiday ............
  2. Firstly, I think you'll find that your Yeti has the Columbus unit and not Amundsen. Secondly, what exactly are you trying to update, the maps, or to add map content ?
  3. DSG gearbox oil change is normally at 40K intervals, or at least has been on my previous Skoda DSGs. Slightly annoying last time as my car went in for a 2nd service under the service plan at 38K and then back in 2k later for the DSG oil change, with no consideration as to how inconvenient it was for me.
  4. It is my understanding that the basic model is used for the initial calculation and that for every extra that has a weight penalty (spare wheel, bigger battery, sound system, sun roof, electric seat, different wheels) these add to the weight which can cause an increase in CO2 rating. Before I bought my Yeti I was looking at the Qashqai and was advised to buy the spare wheel after the initial purchase as the car would be registered with the base rate.. Stupid ruling that allows you to make all sorts of changes following registration without any adjustment to the Co2 rating.
  5. I must confess that would drive me mad as I always drive with the blind open and to have to open it most times I get in the car would make driving off like a pre-flight check. My car spends 95% of its life in a garage [home] or covered environment [work] when not being driven so that may very well be why I do not experience your symptoms. I also drive with a very low temperature setting. Interestinig how the cars behave in differrent environments.
  6. I have had two Skodas now with the Panoramic Roof and, in both, the blind closed with Rain Closing on and not with rain closing off.
  7. Changing the rain closing option to off in the maxidot Convenience menu will stop the blind closing each time you leave the car.
  8. This is my 3rd DSG equipped Skoda, and on all of them you have had to apply the footbrake to start it. Following the posts above I tried a few things last night and came to the conclusion that the sensor in the brake pedal may either be on its' way out or not sensing correctly. Applying the brake pedal much harder on trying to start the car, allows it to start in Park. This is definitely different than it was a week ago. Moving the selector to Neutral before starting seems to take the stiffness out of the pedal and allows starting with only mild pressure. Not worth making a specfic dealer visit unless it gets any worse, but definitely something for the frst service
  9. Tried that, it just immediately acts as if you have switched off the ignition. As post #2 has suggested, I'll run a diagnostic check this evening see if there is a fault code and then as #3 suggests book it in. Thanks for your thoughts .............
  10. The car has been fine for the first 6 weeks, this just started over the weekend. You have to start with your foot on the brake, which is absolutely rock hard when this occurs. As soon as you get the car started the brake pedal "relaxes" into its usual position. Tried moving it out of park and back again, re-locking and unlocking car, but the only way to resolve it is to start the car in neutral. Once started, you can stop the car and start it in park. Sounds like a trip to the dealer if it persists.
  11. My Kessy equipped170 CR DSG will no longer let me start the car when it has been stationary for a while (> 12 hrs). Moving the lever to [N]eutral solves the problem. Accompanied by a rock hard brake pedal when initially getting into the car. Anyone else experienced this. I wait for glow plug lights to go out and my "needle sweep" to finish and then press the start key and it goes back to the "Check Manual" message as if I had switched off the ignition, Once car is warm, or has been moved, there is no problem. Started yesterday, there again this morning.
  12. That may very well be, but I would not have tried it - "coward" I hear you all cry I would not venture into that depth of water as you have no idea what is underneath. On the A22 in Whyteleaf, many a time during heavy rain, manhole covers have become dislodged bringing cars to a grinding halt and presenting dangers to public.
  13. Must confess would not have bought a pre FL Yeti. Everyone to their own, but have never really liked "big" lights on the front of a car.
  14. I quite happily charge my current iPhone 5s/iPad Mini and have previously charged my iPhone 4s using MDI cables.
  15. Having just come from a 3.6 V6 Superb I can tell you now that for driving around town, the low down torque of the diesel is an absolute joy. Apprecaite the V6 is naturally aspirated, but the difference is astounding. I really did miss the 170CR engine mated to the DSG box.
  16. Do not underestimate the value of knowing you have a slow puncture. Putting load onto tyre that is deflating could result in rapid deflation and loss of control. I, personally would not be without TPM, but then it all depends on the journeys you do and the distance you travel. Travelling a lot on motorways as I do I'd like to know of a 5% differnetial in tyre pressure even though I check pressure regularly.
  17. Model year change this year was week 23. Cosmetic only. New flat bottom steering wheel option and new hazard warning button graphic were the only "real" things the dealer and I could find in the documentation. I mention it purely as it might have been a re-tooling event also, not to confuse.
  18. Car was booked in for a sat/nav issue which had corrected itself. I called yesterday to cancel visit and was told that car was subject of recall notice so could I please take it in as it was a suspension issue.
  19. My week 23 (MY 2015) build Yeti was subject to a recall notice (done today) where the servcie team had to check the front shock absorbers as apparently incorrect specification ones had be fitted to certain vehicles. Lovely lady on servcie reception was pleased to tell me mine were OK but did not know whether it affected all, 4x4, 170 CR models or what.. Got a free wash too !
  20. Not on my FL Yeti, only blue light informing main beam ....... :-(
  21. One of the things I miss from the Superb is the green dashboard light that lit up to inform you the headlights were on. Useful in mist and fog situations to understand whether the headlights were on or off when using the AUTO setting
  22. I have had the Columbus unit in my two previous Skoda Superbs and they were faultless, which is why I know there is something wrong with this one. The dynamic re-routing is the most useful feature and rely upon it a lot. I use it for every journey that involves key A roads and Motorways. The hassle of fitting the Tom-tom or Garmin to the screen, and connecting the sensor for traffic monitoring for each journey would drive me nuts. Each to their own, but for me a working Columbus unit hits the spot nicely.
  23. Not sure whether this helps, but I am experiencing the same sort of thing with my new Yeti. At the first TMC re-route or heavy traffic announcement, I get an endless stream every 15-20 seconds of " .........route has been changed due to traffic situation............" I ran a VCDS diagnostic yesterday and found a fault code registered to the sat/nav (00862) that recorded an invalid earth to ground on the GPS sender or sat/nav unit. Having spoken to servicing today they have booked the car in for review on 25th. My previous two Superbs certainly did not behave like this.
  24. Bugging me this - tried many things - to no avail. When VCDS coding speed readout, instrument sweep and fuel gauge correction today noticed two faults 1) SAT/NAV GPS short to ground issue 2) Telephone - left and right short to ground issue Looks like I might have uncovered what the issue may be ... a call to the dealer in order
  25. There is only one tilt setting, several for the open sunroof, i'm afraid.
