  1. Starting to find the Rapid more appealing. Is it a grower maybe...?

  2. The truly worst experiences that I have ever had have been with my local Mazda dealer, so much so that I now travel 35miles to another. Mind you, they have not been great...maybe it's all of them...? ....or me..?
  3. I had a new (Nov 2011) vRS estate in Steel Grey. If subtle is your thing it might be worth a look, when I went to collect the car I didn't even realise it was my vRS waiting for me outside the showroom...!
  4. Anybody catching the "original" Minder series on ITV 4...? What a treasury of great 70's cars......!

  5. ...and todays most overused car magazine cliche is....."..it features a more aggresive front bumper ".. It doesn't mean anything !

  6. Hi Peter, We have Supagard protection on the Mazda (Who's that booin....?) and it is very good as others have said. Interstingly they (Supagard) also do a "Waterless wash" for the really lazy. My Fabia had the Autoglym version applied by the supplying dealer as a freebie and to be honest it was less impressive...?
  7. As someone who has been driving since the late 70's when cars were a lot less well equipped than today (unless you were very upmarket) I have purchased more than my fair share of car related tat to enhance my motoring experiences over the years. Back in the day I had a Nissan Cherry Turbo ZX (all jap "performance" cars had long names....) which was slightly err "interesting" to drive on anything but dry roads. If you wanted to overtake it was a case of pull out and wait.... the term "turbo lag" was surely invented for this car....it was pretty quick though in its day. As a gormless youthful type I purchased something that I think was called...."Ice Tec"....?. This stunning device was a bit of black sticky tape with numbers on that fastened onto your wing mirror and changed colour to give you an early warning of low outside temperatures e.g. 2 deg c it turned blue etc. (Stop laughing at the back !). It failed to dawn on me that at night when you might have wanted to know this info the "Ice Tec" was invisible..! So....anyone else with embarassing car related tat stories.........?
  8. I wish the Daily Express would stop doing hysterical "Worse weather EVER..!" stories..It's Britain it's winter it's going to get flippin cold and we might get some snow..get over it & do some journalism willya..?

  9. Hi Lou, I think this has been asked before....it must be a regular assignment subject...? It might be worth you having a search around on the site for some info..?
  10. Hello Matey & welcome along . I remember having a new Gti 6 back in the day...thirsty; uncomfortable but a great car !
  11. 98 RON for 134.9.......someone pass the smelling salts..!

  12. Couldn't agree more...! Nearly new everytime for me now having been hit by the "lose 20% as soon as you drive away" rule in the recent past. Welcome along.....
  13. Naughty Toyota....influencing all those virtual people to virtually speed in their GT 86 ad....!

    1. @Lee

      @Lee

no worries, the virtual brakes and steering are ****e and they'll get a virtual recall!

  14. Just how dull does Michael Parkinsons' new show on Sky Arts look....? a whole hour talking to a male ballet dancer about his life. Now thats a keeper on Sky +....?

  15. I had tea & cakes at the (dealer) launch of the "new" Fabia so that was a while back...... Go along, it will make a change from a night in front of the telly..!
  16. Welcome along matey... I owned my vRS estate for all of 5 mths which probably says enough about my opinion of them but each to his/her own so I am sure that you will enjoy your new car.
  17. Just seen Dave Hill (Slade guitarist for you youngsters out there) at my local garden centre. Sadly I can't report that he was in a Skoda..! it was an X 3..

Been thinking about getting one recently, love the noise and its understated looks. Add a supercharger and you've got 385bhp, nice.

There's a black one round me with a nice s/s system and it sounds awesome. V8 ftw.

  19. A few years ago I had a new Alfa Romeo & my 1st trip was to a trade show at the NEC, parked up in a quiet bit of the car park; before I had left the car 2 old boys pulled up next to me and the driver opened his door with such force into my shiney new pride & joy that it rocked the car ! I leapt out and had a moan, his comment... "Oh did it ...? never realised..." Sadly SWMBO now has to suffer for my car park aversion as it is about a 2 mile trek to just about anywhere when we park now,...!
  20. Happy 10th.....you only have to look elsewhere in "car site world" to see just how good this place is.....and I don't (currently..!) own a Skoda. Well done to everyone involved.
  21. Good review, glad you are enjoying your car:
  22. Is anyone else going cross eyed from this new driving style..?...you know ... one eye on the road ahead and the other looking right in front of you for the friggin' enormous pot holes that the council can't be bothered to repair....EVER !..

  23. I have found that in addition to all the usual suspects; that the (usually youngish blokes on their own) drivers of things like Citroen Picassos and Focus Estates are pretty bad at all of the habits mentioned, it is as if they are saying: "I might be stuck in this box but really I should be in F 1....!"
  24. .........you could always control it with your right foot......!
