  1. My one and only build quality issue in 3 years was the wiring loom that had been fitted too tight and disconnected causing the electric windows and heated mirrors to fail. Very quickly corrected under warranty.
  2. I think you'll find that the post-face-lift automatics are DSG, while the pre-face-lift ones are tiptronic.
  3. Sorry, I checked the manual and you can set the radio volume to reduce when reversing but can't find anything about the bleep volume.
  4. There's definitely a way on the old Dance radios, but it isn't obvious. I have to check the manual if I need to change it.
  5. I'd say that almost qualifies you as a technician. To fully qualify you need to learn where to thump it.
  6. I have a really old set of Thule roof bars and they fit just fine.
  7. If you haven't bought it yet best thing would be to look for one with rails.
  8. I seem to remember someone saying that this resets them
  9. Certainly earlier on you couldn't fit roof bars to Roomsters but I'm surprised Thule for example hasn't come up with any yet. If not then I would assume it still isn't possible.
  10. But at least you can see a Roomster over the top of most of the others.
  11. Strangely here in Guernsey we have a lot of pre-facelift Roomsters on the road yet I have only seen one of the newer models so far but very many facelifted Fabias. Judging by the number of Yetties around I think that buyers who might have chosen Roomies in the past May be buying those now.
  12. My 3 year old 1.6 Tiptronic has both working.
  13. When I first came in the site about 2 1/2 years ago, Falken ZE912s were highly recommended. I fitted them on the front when the original Bridgestones had worn out at 20,000 miles and have been delighted with them. They have now done 15,000 miles and have lots of life yet. Will probably stay with them all round when the rears are eventually needed.
  14. I like my wind deflectors because we can leave windows open a bit for the dogs when it's raining without getting the seats wet. You won't have a problem with steaming up as the air conditioning deals with it just fine.
  15. I use mine all the time and you soon get used to working round it to use the handbrake and seat belt. I wouldn't want to be without it.
  16. Is that any different from any hatchback or estate car?
  17. I wasn't expecting such a huge shadow. I was just expecting the left light to have a flat top like the right one has.
  18. Even if you have the lights with the levers they don't work too well. You have a large shadow on the left hand side when you dip the lights. I posted about it a couple of years ago, and my dealer had no joy when he tried to find out if mine had a fault.
  19. That happened to mine during the first year or so. It was eventually replaced under warranty.
  20. I think a lot of modern cars just have warning lights instead of a temperature gauge. Our 2003 Kia Picanto was the same. The gauge seems to be going the same way as oil pressure gauges and ammeters etc. I do miss the temperature gauge but I suppose a red warning light is more obvious to a lot of drivers such as SWMBO.
  21. Seems as though theyu didn't learn from the Ford Edsel over there. http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=ford+edsel+pictures&hl=en&rlz=1G1GGLQ_ENUK262&prmd=imvns&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=f_MPT_OSMsvu8QOMsaXhDw&ved=0CDYQsAQ
