L&K lower door trim in Chrome
If it helps I refer to this bit of trim that has a chrome strip on top. The trim is colour coded to car if not clear from picture.

When starting from cold do I need to wait for the revs to settle down before driving off as the engine runs at about 1k for a fair minute or 2. Sometimes happens even after starting from warm ?

L&K lower door trim in Chrome
Hello all Can the lower Chrome door trim be replaced easily and purchased separately to the colour coded lower door trim at the base of the doors? Any links to part numbers and prices and a guide ?

Maintenance periods - Mandatory and Recommended for extended components lifespan.
Would be great for this to have the UK mandatory and recommended table if any Briskodans could update?

Yes on paper it’s all for the S3 on performance. I think my brother was expecting to leave him for dust in S2 when we both floored it on the motorway side by side. It just felt like a massive delay. lol. I am loving the wireless CarPlay and don’t get me started on the ACC cruise in the traffic, it basically drove itself. Look no pedals 🤓. No wireless charge mat though. A friends Seat Ateca 2017/18 has one. I did however feel Waze seems like a cut down version I can’t access all info like next turns and entities issues traffic and roadworks etc etc. I could not turn off Stop/Start I used the A button but it kept turning off. In the end I went for my trusty option to remove the battery monitor cable. That did the trick 🤓

I drove a 2017 the a 2022/3 and this actual 2023 I now have. I have been reading about a pedal box as there has been a thread on here about it.

Why does my 280 drive like it won’t take the skin off a rice pudding. In comparison my diesel 170 feels like it has so much get up and go accelerating on the motorway with kickdown. This coming from a diesel driver(be gentle), long drive home 4 hours in the new to me 280. I can only assume having test driven 2 of these before buying the current they are quick enough, just does it smoothly. It has a warranty for 2 years so mapping could invalidate this right?

Oil Spec
On a PD assuming your Fab is a vRS you need to watch for cam wear. Unless you have anything to gain maybe stick with 5w40 Quantum IMO LL3 the absolute best oil for Superb even at low miles.

With all this talk of oil something came up on my FB feed. 0W20 oil is ****e for the engine A short while back my 2017 S5 started misfiring ever so slightly. I took it to Audi who charged me £1k to tell me it needed a new engine costing £22k Cylinder 3 was not holding pressure. So instead I had the engine rebuilt turns out the 0W20 on the long life interval change did untold damage. In addition the HPFP seal was leaking fuel into the crankcase diluting the already water-like oil. £13k later and she's back on the road. One additional upgrade were the rockers which added a good degree for my peace of mind. Word to the wise...if your beloved Audi is running on 0W20 change it to 5W30 ASAP and change it out every 7k miles. I bought an oil extraction tank so do interim changes myself with absolute ease. Since using the more viscous oil my car is quieter and smoother with no performance changes. I'll post the reddits here that I made following the rebuild. Since this happened I no longer trust the Audi dealership in Truro and have since found a really decent independent Audi specialist. In the picture you can see third piston from the top just how bad it got. The con-rod ring is egg shaped. One further piece of advice is NEVER use an oil additive. They alter the oil chemistry and in some cases trash the oil making it more harmful than helpful. Just regular oil changes is all the engine needs. Everyone should not take oil for granted and ignore long life sales spiel. For those interested, there is a chap on You-Tube called the motor oil geek who knows his ****, do check him out.

Thank you. Thats why I didn’t want a Golf R for the size and nic-ability. I also am still a Skoda fan since my first one and like the fact its a sleeper and fully loaded L&K with amazing rear leg room as I also have a Mk2.

2019 skoda superb l and k value main dealer
Actually the latest offer is a £750 finance contribution as opposed to £250 but the servicing costs £250 not £99. You get to keep this as essentially a price reduction, when you pay off the finance within 14 days.

Try and go for the 2 year finance which gives those benefits. 2 yr warranty 2 year mot with contribution of about £750 for issues. 2 years breakdown. Servicing 2 years is now 250 before April was £99. They reduce the car price by £250. Pay it off within cooling off period and you keep all the benefits free. That might soften the blow and help the price a little. You just pay daily interest until you pay it off which is hardly anything say £50-100

What to do with 3 year old car professionally or privately to maintain paintwork
As per the title I wanted to protect my 3 year old estate and make cleaning easy. By that I mean on the rare occasion I actually wash my cars, I am a very fair weather cleaner. Usually involves a wheel clean and turtle wax wash and wax. Followed by Autoglym chamois. Occasionally to make it last a Chrome Embellish Detailer spray which makes it a little more hydrophobic and shine for a bit. If there are any members offering some type of service around the north Birmingham area or can personally recommend an organisation and appropriate treatment. I might start with this one and move on to some of the older fleet. Thanks

I am switching the car from long life intervals at 47k to annual and I only intend to do approx 5k a year in it. Is the Quantum LL3 5w30 fine for me like this, in a 2023 280?

The 280PS Thread
I finally managed to get the spec out of the salesman what they use on this car, it’s Castrol Long Life 3 5w30. Quantum which I use for another car is LL3 again and 5w30 but I note they also do a LL3 in a different spec Ow20, something I have not come across before as never needed it. So confusing the same name but different grades/viscosity

Do these 280 TSIs still use some oil between services as our 1.2 does and a friend with a 1.4/1.5 also has to top up the oil every so often?- The 280PS Thread
Okay so the 507 00 is the old Longlife 3 that’s been out for years, I already use this stuff it’s 5w30. No idea where the dealer gets 0/20or 30 grade in Castrol as the equivalent LL3 they do is also 5w30. I have seen grade differences between brands on another VAG car but this time points to a 5w30 in both Quantum and Castrol. I have Quantum on my garage shelf so all good for any top ups. Cheers I had to edit this post as quantum also do a LL3 in 0w/30 which I found after a search why have two different grades with different viscosities for sale, confusing. 🫤 - The 280PS Thread
