  1. I was pondering wireless charging too,and was looking for something to nicely sit in the recess by the 12v socket. Any hints or recommendations would be gratefully received
  2. A race through customs it is then! Im not sure what if any duties will apply, time will tell...
  3. Yep, same for me. I contacted the dealer and got some waffle about connecting via WiFi. I decided it wasn't that important to me!
  4. A further ponder - is the hotspot option unticked (on the head unit)?
  5. I'm clutching at straws here, but how about: making the SSID simple text only (eg tplink), limit to 1 standard, eg G, and just WPA2.
  6. It seems to need the 5Ghz band so I guess that rules out any software update. No idea why it needs 5Ghz though. I saw the indiegogo page at Christmas, then forgot about it; this post reminded me, so my name is now on the list - ta!
  7. Sorry, no, but you could look at erwin, costs aren't horrific for short term access.
  8. Sorry, I'd not twigged to that one. As a test, will it connect to your phone as a hotspot?
  9. Can you put the sim in the skoda and let the car be the hot spot (as well as have access to the data)?
  10. Looks nice to me; I wish I'd held out for a 272. Re the advert, you may find that it gets updated with better info and far more photos. The advert for mine was equally poor but they only used the initial information and photos from the skoda auction, when it arrived at the dealer they went mad with the usual 37 photos at jaunty angles.
  11. Blimey. Good effort there! It must have taken some time to to that, particularly with the finish you've achieved - I dread to think how level the badges would be if I did it. I think I like that roof a bit too much....
  12. EFB. It also occurs to me that it isn't obvious that I only bought the car post (initial) lockdown and the dealer said it had sat waiting for them at skoda HQ, or some such waffle. I've had a CTEK charger across it a couple of times, but I now think I'm just going to wait for it to crank its last crank!
  13. I'm my case I'm suspicious of it sitting for weeks, or even months during the first Lockdown. I also found reference in a golf manual to "the temperature of the vehicle battery is not too low or too high." So I also wonder about a cold battery. Out of curiosity I slapped a dvm across it and wasn't too impressed with 11.8
  14. This seems a common problem. Mine is 14 months old with exactally the same error message. Turning off the blowers etc and charging the battery made no difference. I'm quite happy to live without stop/start, but I am curious what criteria it uses to decide whether to activate or not.
  15. Looks interesting. I've not read the full thread but the write up on detailing world seemed positive.
  16. So much for connectivity then! I don't understand why the phone age makes a difference as I assume it's just lifting data from a server, but I guess there's a reason....
  17. Sorry, I can't answer your question (my worked when I updated the app), but even so I can't find the service records!
  18. Different firms can make replacement parts, be it glass or anything else. My leaf's screen was also Saint Gobain, but the replacement was pilkington. If its a really light scratch living with it may be the least stressful option!
  19. I think the scratch removal is the best idea. I'm prepared to bet that a non oem screen will have worse optics than a local scratch repair. Unless they polish the camera window locally I think you'll be OK on that front, but ask them to be sure!
  20. Yeah, mine is the same, but it doesn't feel normal to me either. Without a nice 60W heater in there I guess it's staying that way until the summer. I can't help thinking that it must harm the beam pattern.
  21. The CIF will have mechanically abraded/micro scratched the top (clear coat) surface making it look dull. To bring it back to a shine you'll need to polish out the micro scratches in a controlled way. I like Meguiars 105 & 205 (coarse and fine polish), you can use these by hand, but it will take some elbow grease. I think the polisher Undertheradar is referring to is a rotary or dual action machine polisher - they will certainly save your elbow some work. I've not used the touch up on the superb, but on the Octavia the paint was quite thick so I found it best to thin it out and apply 2 / 3 layers instead of 1 thick one. It depends how fussy you are - I'm sure you'll make it look much better, but when I've used a smart repairers they are like wizzards!
  22. I've noticed a vertical line in the centre of the virtual cockpit. As it's not obvious at first glance I'm not sure if it's been there all the time and supposed to be there, or if the display is starting to fail. Does anyone else have a similar line, or is it time for a trip to the dealers? Cheers
  23. I think some Meguiar’s M105 / M205 will sort that out. More info here (click)
  24. Specs seem to chop and change regularly. I thought mine came with TSR - apparently not!
  25. I'm not 100% sure, but thought new SEL's had the camera, if so I think you can code the Lane Assist, but not the TSR on the face lift. More info here and here
