  1. That's handy. A vario-floor only feature I guess. I'm unfortunately lacking in mine.
  2. Off topic, but indeed they were. The chromaflair (flip) paint P11 was the car that I wished I never sold. Oh well, the Superb is better in most measurable ways and the right choice , but on an empty twisty B road I know which one would be in front. Actually, it would be a dead heat as SWMBO would be complaining about feeling sick...
  3. Yeah, it's a bit of a frustration. All vw group cars seem to be set up that way (or at least the ones I've driven). We also have a LEAF and although the springs seem slightly softer, the rebound control is much better. Just don't get me started on the primeras I had... Loved them... The passage of time is solving that one for me!
  4. a bit more info here:- click
  5. I think the original glass is by St Gobain, was the replacement too? Different firms will have slightly different coatings and therefore colours..
  6. Yep, the pink is the thin metallic layer that allows the IR reflection and heating, the green is just good old glass.
  7. I thought I was going mad earlier today with the keyless entry - I'm glad I'm not! In answer to your question, cruise still worked as it should.
  8. No issues with mine, and I only recall it being mentioned on here once. In that case it was multiple journeys measured in yards not miles
  9. I've got an older head unit, but run aawireless to get the functionality. I also have Qc3 12v charger and thought it would be better than just plugging into the USB port. In reality my S10 started to get hot and it limited its charging, whereas the USB port didn't so was actually quicker. Granted, it was plugged in for hours at a time and used as a hotspot, satnav and mp3 player, but I was surprised nonetheless.
  10. No bad options. I've got used to black on the sportline, so I'm drawn to that one!
  11. Option 1 for my vote. My 2 year old estate just failed to start.
  12. I've not done it (but have thought about it more than once), bilstein B6's seems to be the go to answer.
  13. I'm liking the look of that. I don't think it's available in the UK (mores the pitty).
  14. There have been similar conversations in LEAF forums (my other car). The battery doesn't mind, but old house wiring with a 10amp pull for hours may. The general consensus is to try to use a dedicated circuit, either 3 pin or wallbox (or not worry if you're in a new house).
  15. A very good effort there. I really should follow your lead!
  16. A bit late on the reply, but if it gives you any comfort my '10 plate Vrs ran for 10 years without tensioner issues. Road noise isn't the best, but didn't bother me and the suspension was more than comfortable for us. Mine was the manual, so can't comment on DSG. I only had 2 issues, 1 was the tailgate rusting at the seam, this was eventually replaced FOC by Skoda. The other was suspension bush wear that effectively meant the lower arm had to be replaced, I think a common issue with all VAG cars.
  17. I think indiegogo is the only way. They (along with everyone else) have been having chip supply issues, so I think the delivery times have been slipping.
  18. I too though MIB 3 had native support. If not, I and others have had good success with the AAwireless product.
  19. Alas only a DQ380 for me but it starts off on 1 st and almost immediately moves to second. It slips the clutch far more than I would at low speed but all OK thus far.
  20. @e-Roottoot I'm glad you said that! I Googled before replying and was surprised that it was 97 and not 99.
  21. @Wino We’ll spotted – the perils of rephrasing a sentence after typing it! Now corrected.
  22. @e-Roottoot98 octane was just the number in the back of my mind from staring at the fuel pump. Apparently it was a while ago and at shell. I can more accurately state Costco 97 octane if the clarification helps.
  23. I’ve been trying to understand the amount of energy in ethanol and pure 95 RON petrol, but my Googling hasn’t yielded a useful result. VVT (a Finnish university) did a similar study to Whatcar in 2011 and concluded a 0.7% increase in fuel consumption. They said this correlated well with the 1.1% difference in the calorific values of the 2 fuels. Link :- click I’m sure that in reality it’s more complicated with burn rates, knock etc coming in to play, but I’m still curious regarding the simple calorific values. As an aside, I’m only looking as my Vrs seemed to go better in 98RON, but I’m not so convinced in the Superb (190 petrol).
  24. I think superb owners are one of the lucky ones for relay attacks Click. I only looked it up after the event, but we were OK, the jag across the road, less so...
  25. I used Aqua Gleam many moons ago. It worked well, but didn't last long enough to justify the cost. Nowadays I just move as quick as I can with a (Costco) microfibre towel.
