  1. Nothing to do with boot size, but I went from octy hatch to superb estate, mostly because I think the estate looks cooler. Roof rails were a plus though, I got bored being dripped on in the octavia when it rained with a roof rack.
  2. True. Meguiar's idea of a brush is a Microfibre on a stick (click), it seems OK for scratches. Bilt Hamber is good stuff, it's their korrosol I use.
  3. As above... I've recently discovered iron remover and it's blooming marvellous! Not just for wheels either (although that's where you see it the most). Autoglym's version is called Magma. I'd be inclined to try that before a wheel cleaner. I also use a brush, Meguiar's Supreme Microfibre in my case.
  4. Acidic something weathering the glass looks a likely one. In any case, some polish / T-cut, call it what you will and some elbow grease, or more preferably DA polisher seems a good bet.
  5. Magic eraser not working is a surprise - they are quite abrasive. How old is the car? Is it worth a trip to the dealer and asking if the glass is OK?
  6. They can be scratched etc. Stuff can also lurk on there for years, mine has sucker cup marks on the windscreen. It's possible to remove these with some polish (abrasive stuff) but I'm not so bothered as it only shows up when it's misty.
  7. That was a bit random, or a good 'bot'!
  8. Assuming it's like the Leaf, it's the amount of energy the battery can take from regeneration . Full battery = no (or much reduced) ability to accept charge. Low battery and its all OK.
  9. That makes sense, my Nissan LEAF does the same thing. Out of curiosity, does it make a difference to how much the car slows down without hitting the brake pedal? In the LEAF its quite pronounced.
  10. As ever with Briskoda, lots of useful information. Out of curiosity, did you post the same question on BMW forums, and if so what was the response there?
  11. I finally got around to using the autoglym ceramic HD I've had in the garage for a year! I'm fairly impressed as applied, let's see how long it lasts.
  12. I came from a MK II VRs and the Superb irons out the bumps much, much better. Unsurprisingly the Superb rolls a bit more though
  13. No DCC - I have the sportline and it feels fairly planted for the most part. Although slightly under damped seems to be skoda's preferred chassis set up though, but as I mentioned above its a cruiser (for me) so that's OK. I guess a test drive is in order!
  14. Ha, good point. I meant PS4 plural! I'm itching to replace the P7's, but they seem to wear quite slowly, and tyres in our size aren't cheap!
  15. Michelin ps4s seem to be highly rated by various people on here, including me (on the octavia). Out of curiosity, how many miles did you get out of the p7s?
  16. I ended up with the 190. This ultimately was governed by availability. 280s are quite rare, and not cheap, 220s were easier to find, but a 190 came up with the spec I wanted (towbar) and that was that. I took the view that I use it as a cruising machine, so the 30 loss wasn't so bad, and it's true to say that it's got more than enough get up and go on the motorway. Wheelspin wise it isn't great, but as others have said, the Pirelli P7s are far from the best and I'm sure some ps4s will sort it. I also had a look at V90s, but was surprised that a bigger car has a smaller boot. Lovely inside and out though. I think the V90 engine made me more comfortable with the 190 as the T4 is the same and T5s fell into the luxury tax band.
  17. You'd certainly see it coming. As ever with Southport, the sea is nowhere to be seen!
  18. I wonder of this is another model year thing - mine is a FL and cuts off ~ 20 seconds after turning off the ignition. Not that it really matters. I'd forgotten that was there! Good call.
  19. I wonder why vw and skoda are different - my usb turns off. As you say, there is a setting that should help (if it saves)
  20. Snap. If anyone else it thinking of getting one I can now add my voice to tier's - it was easy to set up and works well (with my S10) at least.
  21. Info here (Click ) may be of use.
  22. A bit small, but it's only an A4 printer! Virtual pedal, hmmm.....
  23. A pleasure meeting you @SashaGrace and I'll echo the comments of others - thanks for a very professional job of installing the camera, the bonus coding tweaks and tea. If you're thinking of installing a reversing camera etc I can't recommend her enough!
  24. As an update. I contacted inbay, and they confirmed that they do not have any plans to make one for the Superb
