It seems Pagid are indeed not owned by ECP, however ECP do seemingly have the sole distribution rights for Pagid in the UK.

Mine did the same last week whilst on rural roads with long grass leaning into the road. The radar behind the central panel on the front grill used for the Front Assist features doesn’t like the vegetation and disables itself. My lights also extinguished once I made it back onto wider roads.

I’ve used Pagid and rate them highly. However I did find out recently they were struggling financially and since bought by Euro Car Parts. Make of that what you will.

Unfortunately Skoda UK can shorten the interval as much as they want. Until they include the removal of the pump and cleaning of the gauze filter in their workshop manual instructions, more frequent oil changes will be of little or no benefit.

What about the suggestion to check in the ‘Vehicle Status’ section, when the orange light is on…

The ‘personalisation’ feature related to the adjustment of the seats, mirrors and drive mode was a factory cost option on the Kodiaq, determined by the supply of a third key. Do you have two or three keys? Unless you have the third key it is unlikely that you’ll have personalisation. I believe it can be ‘activated’ using VCDS or OBDEleven etc. even without the third key.

Go into the settings menu and check for updates from there. If there is one you’ll be able to initiate it from there, rather than from the screen in your photo. I checked mine last week and there was a recent one there waiting.

Whilst our 2018 (18) plate Kodiaq’s Apple CarPlay works well, I regularly keep on top of the software updates. Why do you not think an over-the-air update would fix the issue? What happens when you press the ‘Update Software’ button? I no longer subscribe to Skoda Connect and the updates still work for me. Presumably it uses the same inbuilt SIM card as the SOS system that doesn’t require a paid subscription. I updated mine only last week, it took a longer journey for it to complete (turning the ignition off paused the update, and rather than continuing from where it stopped, it would start from the beginning each time I restarted the engine). It took about 45 mins.

Skoda’s (and VAG’s in general) water pumps are well documented for their weaknesses, and more bizarrely have been for many, many years. Whilst the set-up on your vRS may be different, the water pump failure rate on the 2.0 TDI Kodiaq, as well as the 1.4 TSI, is mentioned a lot on this group and the various social media pages dedicated to the Kodiaq. There are a few different faults, but one of the more common ones is the ‘sticking’ of a sleeve inside the pump, which sees the on-dash temperature gauge to read very high, without the engine actually overheating. Presumably the sleeve frees itself before this happens. So common is the issue with the regular diesel Kodiaq there won’t be a Skoda dealer in the land that isn’t aware of it. Fingers crossed the fix they’ve applied to your pump fixes the issue.

What’s your budget? Could your partners reservations and your apprehensions justify the expense of a dealer fitted genuine Skoda towbar? All the benefits of a detachable but without the weakness of it actually being able to detach. Quotes vary wildly but they seem to range anywhere between £1,000 to £1,500 for supply and fitting, if you can find someone willing to do it.

Sticking actuators are a common weakness across VAG. Any reason they can’t simply replace the actuator? It doesn’t normally require a complete turbo…

My 2018 1.4 TSI had a leaky water pump. Fixed under warranty a while ago and no word or sign of damaged electrical connectors.

Just to add to this, my towbar stuck again, the dealer provided me with the part number for VAG's 'special grease', it is G052172A1. It's called Krytox and is very expensive, especially given the bottle is only 30ml. It seems to be aimed more at convertible roof and sunroof mechanism squeaks than tow bars, but it is the stuff listed on the tow bar TPI. I used a tube of silicone grease instead. On my back, with the tow ball released it's pretty clear where the grease needs to go. swinging the tow ball up and down several times whilst working the grease into the joint seems to have done the trick.

From the ones on the Skoda groups on Facebook, the mechatronics failures seem completely disconnected to whether they’ve been serviced or not.

Wait for the right Kodiaq to come along. Avoid the SE and find an SE L with standard LED headlights.

You posted the fault code on Facebook, as advised there, it suggests a faulty PCV value, a relatively well documented issue on the 1.5 TSI. It’s booked in at the dealers under warranty, let them do their work…

My Skoda main dealer retrofitted the reversing camera, and they lifted the plastic sill covers with ease. They’re largely held in place by the rubber door seals, I’m not sure what all the fuss is about…

What does the sticker on the slam panel under the bonnet say? I wouldn’t go by the manual, they’re only accurate at the point they’re printed. I am also a believer that the wider use of 0W20 and 0W30 oils are primarily to improve emissions and / or economy, not engine or component longevity. I’ve no idea what oil the dealer is using in my 2018 1.4 TSI ACT, I meant to ask last week after it’s last service, but forgot. If I was servicing it myself I’d be using VW507.00 Quantum Longlife III (5W30). If your mileage is increasing I am not sure I’m following your logic for moving from fixed to variable service intervals. A fixed interval will remind you for a service after 12 months. Opinion varies, but I’m a supporter of regular annual oil changes.
