Interior light niggles
You sure about that? Many of us have replaced the interior lights with non-CANbus LEDs and had no faults reported - because the general knowledge is that the interior bulbs are not monitored.

Stolen OEM Infotainment System
I wouldn't be so sure, reading the full small print of insurance policies will often show a limit on the replacement payable for even a factory infotainment system - just checked my policy and that limit is £500!

Touch screens in Cars
Totally agree , you very often have to look at a touch screen to use it but a 'proper' hardware button can be felt using fingers so there is rarely a need to look.

Interior light niggles
That's been commented on before a few times, the only suggestion has been that if the keys are in a place (pocket, drawer, etc.) where they can be accidentally pressed for several seconds that will unlock the doors and open the windows, then if a door isn't opened within around 30 seconds the doors will relock leaving just the windows open.

heater problem
Failing that could be an airlock (had any work done recently on the cooling system?) or a stuck servo that controls the temperature flaps in the HVAC.

what do you like and dislike about your Octavia?
Because first deliveries of the Octavia 4 started in 2020 plus so you only said you've only had it for a week? I take it that it wasn't new when you got it a week ago?

what do you like and dislike about your Octavia?
I suspect you may have an Octavia 4 since it's a 2020 model and a company car - probably better to ask in the Octavia 4 forum?

Stolen OEM Infotainment System
No, the replacement unit will need CP (Component Protection) removing and any optional FEC (Feature Enabling Codes) restored which will need a dealer or someone with online access to the Skoda servers, then it will need the coding and adaptation channnels checking/correcting to match the configuration of your car.

12V Car accessory socket/cigarette lighter port is always on and Dash Cam
It's not changeable by coding or adaptation, to change it you need to remove the relevant fuse in the fusebox and replace it with a piggyback fuse adapter into a switched fuse positon. That or as @gumdropsays use a hardware adapter that plugs into the OBD socket under the dash.

What (if any) are the issues for Octy Mk4.
Best place to ask is in the Superb MKIII forum 😉

Turning auto door lock off
Security - if the doors don't auto-lock then when you stop at traffic lights or a road junction then some scrote can open the car doors and steal anything inside the car e.g. shopping, laptop, briefcase, coat with wallet, etc.

AirCon SYNC and RHD Octy4
Sounds like the HVAC thinks your car is LHD?

Fuel Trim wrong?
IIRC the O2 sensors have a heater, maybe the heater in you O2 sensor is FUBAR?

Timing belt
At the time the engine is built (which is on a separate production line and probably in a different factory which could even be in a different country - my previous Audi was built in Germany but the engine was built in Hungary) it's very unlikely that they would be aware it's destined for a car being shipped to the UK.

Best person to advise is @pab567

12v Battery
Not necessarily, Skoda fitted EFB batteries to many(most?) Octavia 3's with stop/start. Why? They're cheaper than AGM batteries

Fault code
... and while you're on there download every file about your car (wiring diagrams, repair manual, parts information, etc.) onto your PC.

Octavia Estate PHEV % read out on Dash giving a False read out
So it's still not real world, which IMHO makes it little better than the original pre WLTP system.

the truth about electric cars
It's not just Cd that matters but CdA which includes the effective frontal area too - making the vehicle lower and narrower also reduces drag, but wouldn't be popular as too many people like high and wide SUVs now.

Amundsen MIB1 Map Update 2020-2021
If staying OEM is important then several people have updated to a MIB2 Amundsen or Columbus, @pab567is the best person to advise on details and cost.

Halfrauds strike again - can't even change a battery! I should know better!
Wasn't aware that you could have stop/start without battery management??? The only certain way to know if coding is needed is to do a scan with a diagnostic tool (such as VCDS) and if a battery management module shows up (either as a slave of the CAN Gateway at #19 or a stand-alone module at #61) then it needs coding, if neither of those modules exist then there is no BMS and hence nothing to code.

Amundsen MIB1 Map Update 2020-2021
I won't be holding my breath - there are no map updates for the equivalent infotainment systems in VW cars either so it looks like a VAG decision not a Skoda decision.
