  1. That sounds not unusual for a Skoda dealer, sadly there seems to be too many poor/bad Skoda dealers which results even the good ones being treated with suspicion by owners.
  2. So you've fitted LED H15 & H7 in the headlamps and LED H8 in the fogs?
  3. The H15 bulbs go in the headlamps not the fog lamps ???
  4. How does main beam look with these fitted?
  5. The fatal flaws in many modern housing estates - narrow roads and not enough parking spaces for a typical family with teenagers who all drive. The reality is, and won't change a lot IMHO even with the increase in working from home, that most people live far enough away from their place of work to need mechanised transport and expecting public transport to be able to take most people not in a major city from where they live to where they work is never going to be economically feasible. So housing estates need to be designed with the assumption that there will be as many cars at a property as there are bedrooms.
  6. I can confirm the link to the VW website works, the maps are now downloaded, decompressed and copied to a genuine 5E0 Skoda SD card which is happily being read by my MIB1 Amundsen.
  7. That's more important to get correct than the difference between 68 and 70AH.
  8. A colleague of mine who lives in Dallas has been complaining that his F150 is too small to tow his boat, so he's swapping it for an F350 Super Duty 🥴
  9. I don't use a VPN and clicking on the link took me straight to the download without needing to login.
  10. There were certainly many other Sorentos in the parking lot when we went to the Freyburg Fair and some great tractor pulling competitions which me & my mate spent many hours watching! In the West Country tractors are the new "company car" - lunchtimes in my small town see lots of tractors parked outside the Spar buying their lunch 😄
  11. No, the EA211 on the Octavia III is a belt - the previous 1.4 was a chain but that's never been fitted to the Octavia III.
  12. I had a previous model Sorento petrol V6 as a hire car in the US last October, it suited US roads (big with soft suspension) but not sure I'd want to drive one in the UK especially in the tiny West Country lanes.
  13. I'm holding off the cam belt change on my 1.4TSI because I had a ba experience when a Vauxhall garage did a cambelt change on a 1.6 Corsa GSi I owned - 1 week after the change the cam belt jumped because they hadn't replaced the idler pulley and it's bering failed. Result - bent valves requiring new head, fortunately paid for under extended warranty.
  14. Something stuck between a brake disc and the shield which has now been dislodged?
  15. To get the correct map files for your car you should go to the Skoda Portal and enter your VIN - it will tell you your Infotainment system type (Amundsen or Columbus) and show a link to the correct maps for you to download. There is a short video showing how to do the update.
  16. I'd be in the market if they offer a 265bhp 4x4 petrol (not hybrid) vRS.
  17. Given that Skoda UK have been removing Scout variants from most Skoda models on sale in the UK I wouldn't hold your breath 🥴
  18. Do you mean the one on the B-pillar (between the front and rear doors)?
  19. The WIkipedia article does only say "may" in it's defence.
  20. Not relevant to the question, but a point worth making IMHO - that's been written by someone only thinking about Haldex based systems, VAG still make some vehicles with Torsen based systems - which that comment won't apply to as they are permanent 4WD but with variable torque split. Answering that is going to need knowledge of the firmware in the Haldex controller, is there an SSP (Self Study Programme) that describes the Haldex version fitted to the Karoq? The Karoq Vehicle Presentation Part I mentions SSP 70 "All-Wheel Drive with Generation IV Haldex Clutch" although I might have expected the Karoq to have Generation V Haldex? Link to SSP 70
  21. Please explain EXACTLY what you did...
  22. I'd be taking advantage of any scrappage scheme to replace my second car - a 12 year old Citroen C1 with an MOT valid until March 2021, currently valued at not a lot!
  23. Depends when it was built, the MY changeover normally happens around the time of the factory summer break in July (or thereabouts). So unless you Karoq was in dealer stock it's probably a MY20 - but the only way to be sure is to look at the 10th character of the VIN (e.g. on the windscreen tag) VIN Basics then decode the MY character MY Encoding
  24. Look back at my posts - I have never quoted a price???
