Installing Speed Cameras on The Amundsen MIB2 - Free Database and Quite Simple to Do!
Are your maps read directly from an SD card? Yes = Amunsen, no =Columbus What year is your Octavia 3? 2014 or earlier = MIB1 2015 = MIB1 until May build, MIB2 after 2016 = MIB2

Trivial problem with media player
It must depend on the adapter and the micro SD card, I've been using a micro SD card and adapter for over 3 years with no problems.

No dedicated HVAC controls
To offer a different perspective - I have an Octavia 3, the recirc button gets pressed quite often when we're following a diesel that is badly setup and producing a lot of smoke (which happens a few times each month), plus SWMBO and I like different temperature settings so the temperature settings get changed every time we swap drivers. Having to hunt around on a touch screen for functions we use regularly will basically rule out replacing our Octavia 3 with an Octavia 4.

Correct lowering springs

What would you change about your Octavia?
A MIB2 infotainment with CarPlay so I don't have to wait ages for the Amundsen nav to start up very time.

Rear Quarter Glass Replacement
Most insurance companies won't make a glass claim affect the no claims, however it will still be mentioned as a claim that will appear if you change insurers when you renew.

Time to go wireless
My iPhone XS is too large to fit.

Steering - Octavia compared to Leon
The amount of steering assistance is controlled by firmware, so it's entirely possible that the setting in the SEAT and the Skoda will be different - given that SEAT is aimed at a more sporting image.

Firmware update
That depends on what infotainment system you have. Is it an Amundsen or a Columbus? Is it MIB1 or MIB2? BTW the Skoda portal only offers updates to maps not firmware for the systems fitted to the Octavia 3.

MOT
Since it had a mechanical oil based predecessor of DCC that's not very likely 🥴

Towing with a Superb estate 150 TDI
In Sweden moose suddenly running out of the forest onto the road is a real problem which results in many deaths (people and moose) every year, so this test is of real interest to drivers in Sweden - but possibly not of so much interest to the rest of the world?

keyfob battery failing with *no* warning
On plenty of these forums you will see that type of comment "battery was 3V so no issues" - but changing the battery sorted the problem. How come? Measuring the battery voltage on no-load doesn't tell you if the battery has gone high resistance and is unable to supply current. Best plan is to get a brand new reputable make battery and fit that - based on what has been written on here that will solve the problem 99% of the time.

MOT
I had this advisory on my previous car at the 3 year and 4 year MOTs, never changed the shocks and never had the advisory again for the remaining 6 years I owned it. The difference? 3 & 4 year MOTs at a dealer, the rest at an independent - go figure???

DAB signal loss
Because DAB transmitters are less powerful, the frequency they operate at is higher so the losses are greater and there are less transmitters around the country - what you are seeing is just normal RF transmission issues it's not a problem with your radio. On the drives from where I live to either of the nearest towns (Barnstaple and Tiverton) there are several DAB "holes" in both my Octavia and my other car.

Correct disks for a 1.6d estate 2014
It will be on the PR code sticker, which should be in either the manual and/or somewhere on the boor floor.

Replicating the Sport Line look
VAG only fit permanent 4WD to vehicles that have a Torsen centre differential (e.g. Audi RS models) all the other VAG models have a Haldex centre clutch which means they are FWD except when the Haldex clutch engages.
-
Replicating the Sport Line look
Same block different head, most 1.5 versions fitted with ACT (Active Cylinder Technology) which disables 2 cylinders under light loads.
