DAB signal loss
Because DAB transmitters are less powerful, the frequency they operate at is higher so the losses are greater and there are less transmitters around the country - what you are seeing is just normal RF transmission issues it's not a problem with your radio. On the drives from where I live to either of the nearest towns (Barnstaple and Tiverton) there are several DAB "holes" in both my Octavia and my other car.

Correct disks for a 1.6d estate 2014
That's a PITA, where do you reckon it will be then? Online only?

Correct disks for a 1.6d estate 2014
It will be on the PR code sticker, which should be in either the manual and/or somewhere on the boor floor.

Replicating the Sport Line look
VAG only fit permanent 4WD to vehicles that have a Torsen centre differential (e.g. Audi RS models) all the other VAG models have a Haldex centre clutch which means they are FWD except when the Haldex clutch engages.

Replicating the Sport Line look
Same block different head, most 1.5 versions fitted with ACT (Active Cylinder Technology) which disables 2 cylinders under light loads.

Top Speed without speed limiter
250km/h = 155.343mph Most manufacturers aren't "too careful" about how exact the speed limiter setting is, as an example my previous Audi RS4 was supposedly limited to 155mph but many owners (on level stretches of unrestricted autobahns) saw GPS speeds of 168mph (speedo indicated 180mph).
-
Top Speed without speed limiter
I was working for a sports car manufacturer when the 155 limit was introduced and can confirm that it was a "Gentleman's Agreement" between most German car manufacturers and the German Government - this was shortly after German reunification and there had been a dramatic increase in the number of high speed accidents on unrestricted stretches of autobahn (drivers from the former East Germany had no experience of cars approaching at nearly 200mph so pulled out in front of them going much slower causing massive accidents).

Hatchback vs Estate
The load space is taller in the estate, and the estate comes with roof rails which makes fitting a roof rack or roof box neater. I always used to buy hatchbacks but in 2003 bought my first estate and every car since then has been an estate.

Central locking problem
There's not a lot in common between a 2015 Fabia and an Octavia III - wrong forum! I know you feel the need for a rant, but it would be better having a rant in the forum where fellow Fabia owners will see it and possibly help you?|
-
Central locking won't unlock and windscreen wipers won't switch off
It would be better if you post this in the Fabia forum instead of the Octavia forum - maybe other Fabia owners have some useful suggestions to help fix the central locking problem?

surround sound
The option certainly appears with VCDS 20.4.1 If you have a genuine VCDS then the software update is free, just download and install the update from https://www.ross-tech.com/vcds/download/current.php

Interior LEDs
Forums get charged for server space used, so picture size needs to be limited. Just use a tool like paint+ to compress the pictures - you'll be amazed how small it can make them while keeping the detail visible.

SD card sat nav
Not 100% sure - I know that a MIB2 SD card will work in a MIB1 Amundsen (I have that at the moment), so it seems possible that a MIB2 Amundsen COULD recognise a MIB1 SD card BUT will the MIB2 maps fit onto a MIB1 SD card? Since OP probably has a MIB1 SD card it's probably worth downloading the MIB2 files from the Skoda update portal using his VIN and seeing if the card he has will work?
-
Video in motion.
Do you have sat nav? - No, it's a Bolero. - Yes, are the maps on an SD card? - - Yes, it's an Amundsen. - - No, it's a Columbus.
-
Video in motion.
Depends what infotainment system you have - Bolero or Amundsen the answer is no, Columbus the answer is yes.

Installing Speed Cameras on The Amundsen MIB2 - Free Database and Quite Simple to Do!
If you have a 2020 Octavia then you don't have an Amundsen+, you have a MIB2 Amundsen. If you have a 2021 Octavia (new shape) then you have the latest (MIB3?) AMundsen. Might be a good idea to post a picture of your Amundsen...

Skoda Superb Dashboard Help - Icons
That's not an A it's an arrow - the letters are E for East, N for North and S for South (you will also see W for West), they tell you which direction you are heading in.

It's official.... Its a great car
It can be made to remember the last setting by adding hardware like this Start Stop Memory module with SERVICE MODE! / Start-Stop SSA memory - but NOT by any coding changes on the newer model years.
-
It's official.... Its a great car
That no longer works on the latest builds (late 2020MY onwards ) - VAG have removed the ability to disable start/stop because of concerns about them being accused of allowing emissions cheating.

VCDS Adaptations. How do I ..........
Since your brother used VCDS he should look in the C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS\Debug folder where he will find two files that save the coding and adaptation channel changes he has made so he can reverse them and get the parking sensors working again (as well as they did before).

Map on full colour maxidot possible ?
That's not the basic cluster on a Skoda - that's the virtual dash, and only the virtual dash has MOST.
