  1. The camera image won't appear on the infotainment screen without it having a coding change done, so IMHO plug'n'play isn't possible.
  2. Do you have memory seats? I don't, and when I enabled dipping mirror on reverse yes it dipped but it never returned to the same position (close but not close enough so I had to adjust the mirror every time).
  3. ... and if the battery voltage/SoC drops to a point where the SS "logic" thinks it's safer to have the engine running and being charged. Had that happen a few weeks back while sitting in the queue at the local dump a couple of days after it reopened.
  4. I'm puzzled what the conditions are in the UK that (in the opinion of Skoda UK) reduce the life of the cambelt?
  5. Because owners in the US & Canada are more likely to start a class action law suit that will cost the importer millions and some bad publicity.
  6. OP said his car is registered in 2014 so it will be a 140PS version not a 150PS version.
  7. And allow some extra time because of the "smart motorway" roadworks on the M27.
  8. I was the guinea pig for the MIB1 Amundsen several months ago on here - of the 3 Skoda SD cards I have 2 are the smaller 5E0 version plus one of the larger 5L0 version, and I reported on here earlier this year that all 3 work fine in my MIB1 Amundsen.
  9. Not true, I use three different genuine Skoda SD cards (all purchased second hand on eBay) for maps in my Amundsen - any genuine Skoda SD card can be used with any Amundsen. I'd love to know where this rumour started that Skoda SD cards are locked to one unit - I've seen it posted twice in the last two days but never before, someone somewhere is spreading incorrect information
  10. To be accurate the problem isn't in the gearbox, it's in the switch mechanism inside the cabin where the gear selector lever is.
  11. I've got over 30,000 mp3 files on an SD card that my MIB1 Amundsen plays OK, the folder structure I use is: /Artist/Album/file.mp3 The only difference I can see is that you appear to have /MyMusic/Artist/Album/file.mp3
  12. That is the correct part number for a MIB2 Amundsen card. BTW anyone with a MIB1 Amundsen can use either the 5E0 051 236 or the later 5L0 051 236 SD card.
  13. I had that problem around 2 years ago, some surfing found that reformatting the VW/Skoda SD card to FAT32 but with a smaller cluster size (I use 2048 bytes) made the map data fit. How so? Because there are a lot of very small files of only a few hundred bytes, the default cluster size makes them occupy 8192 bytes so the card fills up quickly, changing the cluster size when formatting means they only occupy 2048 bytes. BTW I always backup the SD card data onto my PC before formatting or copying the new files so I can always revert if necessary.
  14. No, I use three different Skoda SD cards with my Amundsen - all purchased second hand off eBay and updated regularly (in a rolling pattern) every 6 months with the latest downloaded map data files from either the Skoda portal or the VW Infotainment website (the files are identical). BTW they don't have a hidden data file, you can reformat them and they're still identified as a genuine card because the hidden data is not in the normal data partition but in a separate secure area (which is why they called SECURE Digital cards).
  15. That's a MIB2 Amundsen, so it reads the maps directly from the SD card. If your new Karoq also has an Amundsen then you should be able to take the SD card out of the Octavia and plug it straight into the Karoq.
  16. My personal experience of the AS3 is different, I had AS3's on my Audi RS4 when I had it tuned and they were just as drivable after as before - but the Michelin Pilot Super Sport were even better (but noisier).
  17. Government and/or the DVLA employing someone brilliant - that would be the first time ever 😄 Sorry that my psychic powers had taken a staycation so I didn't 'get' the hidden meaning behind your question 🥴
  18. Have you done a fault code scan? I'm wondering if the internal temperature sensor is faulty so it thinks the cabin has reached the desired temperature and hence winds the fan speed down. Have you tried disabling Auto and controlling the fan speed manually?
  19. That's how the system has worked since September 2001: March to August - number = last 2 digits of year September to February (of the next year) - number = last 2 digits of the year plus 50 Vehicle Registration Years
  20. Half the power will go into the resistors - so they'll get hot and the sub will be quiet.
  21. What are the input connections on the subwoofer?
  22. I get all my small appliance batteries from watchbattery.co.uk and when I needed to replace the battery in my Octavia fob a battery from them worked fine with no problems - still working a year later.
  23. But an open circuit voltage reading tells you nothing about the internal resistance of the battery, if that's high (due to aging maybe?) then as soon as the battery is on load (i.e. used in the key fob) the terminal voltage will drop.
  24. My PR code label is in the owners manual in the glovebox - the paint code is shown there.
  25. It depends if your Octavia and Karoq have the same version of the same sat nav system. The Octavia could have MIB1 Amundsen, MIB1 Columbus, MIB2 Amundsen or MIB2 Columbus (depending on age & spec); the Karoq could have MIB2 Amundsen or MIB2 Columbus (depending on spec). So you need to work out what spec sat nav systems both vehicles have to be able to answer your question.
