  1. Sounds like you have a MIB1 (map updates stopped in 2020 5 years after last used in production which was mid 2015), which cannot support AA or CarPlay. The only option is to upgrade the screen and Glovebox unit to a MIB2, best plan is to contact @pab567 who can usually help at better than dealer prices.
  2. The Skoda website only offers map updates, it sounds like you're looking for a firmware update?
  3. If it's a mileage estimate then AFAIK there's no problem (provided it's not a silly amount over), but if it's specifically a limited mileage policy then there's often an excess mileage charge.
  4. You need advice from an infotainment expert like @pab567 whether you can replace the glovebox unit with a Columbus and keep the same screen - even then there will be issues of component protection, coding and adaptation.
  5. Go to a dealer or an independent with online access to the Skoda corporate servers is the only way.
  6. No Amundsen has a CD player, you will need to upgrade the screen and glovebox unit to a Columbus - and that will need component protection removing, coding and adaptation done -not cheap and if the only reason is to play CDs then I agree best to rip the CDs onto SD and use that.
  7. As said earlier, get a fault code scan done - I'd be surprised if at least one of the ABS wheel speed sensors is showing a fault code.
  8. On a 2014 the DRL bulb is an H15 that also includes the main beam filament. Replacing the bulb will almost certainly alter the main beam alignment, possibly in a way that cannot be corrected and hence cause glare to oncoming drivers. Plus finding an H15 bulb that is CE marked, and hence legal for use on the road, will be "difficult" - oh and also the headlamp itself is not type approved for any bulb type other than Halogen...
  9. If the side mirrors dim then that suggests the sensors in the interior mirror are OK since the interior mirror is the master. Which kinda says to me that the actual LCD dimming part of the interior mirror has failed - unless sombody knows otherwise?
  10. If you need it once and buying it is cheaper than hiring it, or if the hire shops only have dodgy stuff, then buy it!
  11. I had the same problem when I first got my L&K, for me it was simply finger trouble - the interior mirror dimming was turned off! Check the green light on the mirror, if that's off it won't dim and simply pressing the switch on the mirror turned it on.
  12. A fault code scan will tell if there are any problems with the air mixing and distribution flaps not moving correctly, much better than trying to guess.
  13. Updated maps can help to get the TSR display more accurate since when it can't read a speed limit sign it defaults to using map data - but then if the map data is wrong... I've noticed it seems to default to 20 (incorrectly) on several roads near me that are actually 30, that's even with the newest Amundsen MIB2 maps.
  14. Search for the adaptation channel by name, newer versions with UDS protocol no longer use simple channel numbers.
  15. Tried this guide on here?
  16. I had exactly the same issue when my previous car came with Pirellis - 9K miles life only and poor to scary wet (lack of) grip.
  17. Someone will be searching for a coding/adaptation hack to make it default to off!
  18. Yes it's USB only but there are several dongles available that plug in to the USB and allow wireless CarPlay. I use this one CPlay2Air
  19. Probably best asking in the relevant Superb forum, as the body design is completely different to an Octavia 4!
  20. Definitely not correct, I have an iPhone 12 Pro which works perfectly with CarPlay.
  21. Adaptive lights need to know the vehicle level, so I think finding and fixing the problem with the level sensor is the first step.
  22. Correct, and MUST be done by someone with the correct kit to avoid the refrigerant escaping into the atmosphere.
  23. 2015 builds can have MIB1 or MIB2 depending on build date, and looking at your part number I'm pretty sure you have a MIB1 Amundsen - like my previous 2015 Elegance. Which means you cannot enable SmartLink as you need MIB2 hardware for SmartLink.
  24. So you've never driven in wet weather when the windows mist up? AC is a lot more than just cooling, it also dehumidifies the air and hence is useful 365 days of the year. The other issue with not driving the AC compressor is that the lubricant in the AC liquid won't be effective on the compressor bearings, so you could end up with a seized AC compressor - which isn't cheap to replace.
  25. Looks like whoever had the cambelts changed made the classic mistake on an EA211 engine of thinking that changing the cambelt and water pump at the same time was required - on the EA211 they're on opposite ends of the engine so in reality there's no need to change them together. I had to "remind" the Skoda dealer in Barnstaple this when I had a 2015 1.4TSI Elegance estate.
