  1. Definitely not correct, I have an iPhone 12 Pro which works perfectly with CarPlay.
  2. Adaptive lights need to know the vehicle level, so I think finding and fixing the problem with the level sensor is the first step.
  3. Correct, and MUST be done by someone with the correct kit to avoid the refrigerant escaping into the atmosphere.
  4. 2015 builds can have MIB1 or MIB2 depending on build date, and looking at your part number I'm pretty sure you have a MIB1 Amundsen - like my previous 2015 Elegance. Which means you cannot enable SmartLink as you need MIB2 hardware for SmartLink.
  5. So you've never driven in wet weather when the windows mist up? AC is a lot more than just cooling, it also dehumidifies the air and hence is useful 365 days of the year. The other issue with not driving the AC compressor is that the lubricant in the AC liquid won't be effective on the compressor bearings, so you could end up with a seized AC compressor - which isn't cheap to replace.
  6. Looks like whoever had the cambelts changed made the classic mistake on an EA211 engine of thinking that changing the cambelt and water pump at the same time was required - on the EA211 they're on opposite ends of the engine so in reality there's no need to change them together. I had to "remind" the Skoda dealer in Barnstaple this when I had a 2015 1.4TSI Elegance estate.
  7. That seems to be true for a large number of company PHEVs Thousands of UK hybrids may have never been plugged in
  8. Several things to be aware of : 1) With a relay system you will almost certainly get a bulb failure warnign as the relay coil will not have the same resistance as a Halogen bulb. 2) 100W bulbs will not be CE marked or certified for road use - so using them on the road is not legal. Selling them is legal but using them on the road is not. 3) The heat from 100W bulbs compared to 55W bulbs will probably cause damage to the plastic headlamp housing. 4) The LED bulbs will not produce the same beam pattern as the light emitting parts will be in a different place to the Halogen bulbs, causing an uncontrolled beam pattern which is likely to cause glare to oncoming drivers. The only legal and viable option is to replace the 55W bulbs with brighter versions that are still 55W - Pjilps, Osram, etc. sell these.
  9. FYI there's a geothermal power station in the centre of Southampton, opposite the John Lewis end of the West Quay shopping centre.
  10. Car manufacturers moved away from hydraulic power steering many years ago as electric power steering uses less energy and hence improves emissions figures.
  11. A 66 plate is an Octavia 3, you'll be better off posting in the Octavia 3 forum.
  12. White Renault 6 (3 speed gearbox with the gear lever in the centre of the dash and the gearbox in front of the engine) - only had it 2 months before it ended up upside down in a ditch with me hanging from the seatbelt!
  13. Very unlikely, it's normally one of the wheel speed sensors - a fault code scan will tell you which one. The flashing glow pug is probably unrelated, but could be just another 'sympathy' fault code.
  14. Absolutely, a failed/failing ABS sensor affects any system that needs to know vehicle speed.
  15. It's definitely related to the app, I've fitted a different Data Plug and get the same problem. So that's eliminated a faulty Data Plug. Just very strange that only the GPS data is missing, every other vehicle health measure is still there - mileage, distance, speed, boost pressure, exhaust temperature, oil temperature, coolant temperature, intake temperature and throttle position. So to me it feels like either it's a bug in the updated app or some subscription that Skoda have let lapse? Skoda Customer Support are their usual incommunicative selves
  16. Carpet every time for me, and strong brush and a vacuum soon gets any mud out of them after wet weather dog walks.
  17. No, especially on the TDI it's most often the mechanical one which has been redesigned to make it more reliable. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/453298-the-mk3-octavia-tdi-water-pump-thread
  18. There are multiple pumps in the cooling system, one mechanical on the engine and other electric for e.g. charge cooler.
  19. Does the socket in the boot work? If not then because they share the same fuse it could be as simple as a blown fuse.
  20. Extremely unlikely, for many years now Skoda (VAG in general) only install wiring for options that are factory fitted - the only exception I know of is wiring for the satellite radio tuner in the USA.
  21. The dealer diagnostic tool is usually run in a mode that does not consider all fault codes to be significant, unlike the third party tools such as OBDeleven and VCDS - this likely why they claimed there were no fault codes.
  22. I've been using the Skoda Connect LITE app on my iPhone for many years with a Skoda Data Plug and found it very useful to track refuelling, mileage, vehicle data, etc. It relies on a Skoda Data Plug in the OBD socket and quite suddenly from June1st the GPS location feature has stopped working - don't know if it's relevant but the Amundsen sat nav still shows GPS data OK. I've messaged Skoda Customer Support who requested a screenshot showing the lack of GPS data, but heard nothing from them... Does anyone else use Skoda Connect LITE with a Skoda Data Plug, and if so are you also not seeing the GPS data? I'm not sure if it's another Skoda/VAG not keeping a subscription updated problem (like the loss of TMC data) or whether I just have a Data Plug that's failed? Unknown
  23. You only mention removing the battery, that doesn't answer my question about where the negative cable is attached to the bodywork? 5 ohms for the battery cable is very wrong, are you sure it's not 5 milli ohms? It is were 5 ohms the the voltage drop when the starter motor engages would be huge and the car wouldn't start. The battery module does NOT have a resistor, it senses the current using the resistance of the negative cable.
  24. I think we had already advised that it's normal behaviour?
