  1. Hmmm, to my untrained ears it just sounds like a diesel. @Justgenius, perhaps you could record and drop a vid, but without the hugely distracting constant movements of the OP’s?
  2. We could just get my wifes MKI Fiat Panda in our garage, which was built by the first owner of our house in 1946, to keep their Austin 7. Actually, I should add I had to climb through the hatchback to get out, having left the garage doors open! Oh yeah, there’s an inspection pit in there too! I’d love to have a double garage to keep our 280, where I could store and clean it, however the cost would be prohibitive I suspect. Does anyone know the cost estimate of a concrete brick garage with a corrugated roof?
  3. Great guide, AS; this’ll be very useful when the controls fail again in the future! 😁👍🏻
  4. Took the car to Wheelbase on Sat to secure a courtesy car and collected the 280 today after they’d replaced the water pump etc. Bloody ridiculous; the cost of parts were over £480.
  5. Too little in the way of a “new” design to get me interested TBH, given how the MKIII was such a radical improvement in every way from the MKII; I’ll be sticking with the 280.
  6. Yeah, mine was a 110 mile round trip a day. Miss that like I’d miss a migraine…
  7. Yeah; that AS bloke is a clever-clogs!
  8. Fingers crossed for you Colin…🤞🏻
  9. We should consider ourselves very lucky, given we’re able to interrogate and make changes to our vehicles systems, allowing us to access and make use of another traffic monitoring system. Over in the Honda Owners Club forum, they’re complaining about the loss of TM and it seems they have no way to change-over to INRIX and, I presume, it’ll be the same for many other vehicle manufacturers products too.
  10. Perhaps you should contact one of the members in Manchester who has VCDS/VCP?
  11. Leaking water pump is a big and expensive failing on the 888 engine. Our 280 is about to go in to have it replaced; I’ll be £875 lighter on Monday….🙄
  12. Brilliant! All done and TRAFFIC is up and running again!! Thanks to Rizmod and Tell et al for their help!! 👍🏻

  14. Sorry for being thick, but could somebody please tell me where one goes in VCDS to make the changes needed to get TMC up-and-running again?
  15. Wow! That’s great news - I’ll give that a go!
  16. Errrrm…. wassismean?
  17. I just needs a good LSP next, so something like TW Hybrid Solutions Pro Flex Wax. Dead easy to apply and lasts for weeks.
  18. So the expanding plastic thingy is missing?
  19. Think you’ll need to remove the liner and see what’s stopping the screw from locking-up.
  20. Did you try backing it off and tightening it again?
  21. There’s a very slight whine when I back off around 30mph, but it’s not there at faster speeds. The filters and fluids were cleaned and changed a year ago.
  22. Can I ask where you got them, Martini? And are they all the same?
