  1. Ahhhh, so do they reduce the locking sound? If not what’s the purpose?
  2. 😂 Right, but what’s their real purpose? BTW… that sound insulation you’ve added is insane!
  3. Make sure you test the sills and the inner door panels too. If the water doesn’t bead or beads poorly, you’ll know they’ve done a poor job.
  4. Hey MartiniB, I note they’re fitted to some Audi and the ghastly Bentaga (obviously they’re the same lock system as the Superb) but I’m mystified as to what they actually do?
  5. I would also add, the Autoglym instructions state they HAVE to coat the WHOLE car, including the inner door and boot panels, plus the door, boot and bonnet shuts and the sills.
  6. Nice one!👍🏻
  7. Yeah, I’d just do a reset and check it a few days later.
  8. Fortunately I’ve never had this happen. Also I’ve never had anything reset on the wireless when I’ve had a service, except the radio station and and annoyingly, the service reset once too. Both those are sorted now I’ve stopped using the main dealer network. As for the fob, that goes into the faraday pouch as soon as I get home.
  9. This one seems to’ve had similar issues looking at the MOT’s.
  10. Is it the direction tab that is missing, Colin?
  11. So welcome to Briskoda and to the 272/280 thread, rcblur69. You didn’t say how long your commute is, but if I take the start-up average on my massive 2.5m each way commute, I get about 22mpg first thing (06.00) and about 23, maybe 24mpg back at (08.30). My long term is still showing about 28.5 but that’s because I did a 1k round trip to Ireland about 6 weeks ago which got my long-term avg upto 35. Cold engines use more fuel and when it’s winter I get 20-21 there and back. So given this I’d say what you’re getting isn’t off, it’s in the about right arena; if this was a V6 or worse, a V8 developing 280’ish bhp, you’d be looking up the noisy exhaust at 15mpg or even less.
  12. I went the other way. Started on S, then S+ and now R. R+ is, as you say, nuts! 😂
  13. I’ve had no improvement in fuel consumption, despite the claims Racechip makes. How can shoving more air and fuel into an engine to boost performance result in better MPG?
  14. And I’ve just discovered ours is blocked again and was working fine last week.
  15. Yep, residuals and thereby prices are nuts and zero sign of them diminishing as long as the builds for new cars are 12m and more. The manufacturers are loving it; high residuals and increased RRP’s, so perfect for them. On your question, I’m guessing PCP’s.
  16. Not something I’ve had. Perhaps the radar needs recalibration? Have you had a front end bump?
  17. Great. Well, you’ll probably need to remove the NS wheel and wheel arch liner to get to the washer bottle; hopefully ApatureS et al will confirm. Now do you want to answer my other questions, namely… So is the pump still working? What makes you think the water is contaminated?
  18. Nope! Our 2016 is on 40k (65km).
  19. Well done - that’s a loooooonnnng old drive. Great MPG too; I can only dream of 53mpg!
  20. 50k = mileage I believe. Oh, and our 280 is definitely a keeper.
  21. So is the pump still working? What makes you think the water is contaminated? (OK… what have you done now?! 😂). Where is the filler neck located?
  22. Firstly, what is it, or is not doing, if that makes sense? Secondly, what engine does the car have, as I think the tank and therefore the pump, maybe in different locations in the engine bay, depending on engine type? Finally, if the pump has failed, isn’t it still under warranty?
  23. And name the dealer too, so other owners can avoid them.
  24. They’ve had a couple of class actions in the USA and won, getting full reimbursement of the costs. The issue I have is obviously, it’ll just reoccur in 30k. VAG know its a poor design and the have done nothing to resolve the problem. Still it helps them make money on ridiculously overpriced parts and their the dealerships to make money fixing a problem which should not exist. One bit of interesting info I was told; since the massive outlay VAG have had with the emissions scandal, is they’ve raised their global prices on parts between 20 and 1000%, in an effort to recoup their losses.
