  1. Have you got park assist, or just front and rear parking sensors? Park assist uses data from the wheel speed sensors, as does tyre pressure monitor, ABS and ESP. A faulty sensor or cable will stop all of those working. If the battery has gone low, the power steering light would normally go off on its own after a few meters of driving, but with the ABS light on, it won't clear itself.
  2. Well just to bring this thread to a close. A few days after I posted this thread, I went over a drain cover and clonk, the NSF spring broke at the top. Also the NSF abs cable had previously been repaired, when wet the ABS light has been coming on more often than not over the past month. I bought a genuine ABS harness but never got around to fitting it. I had already bought my Superb so had to get rid of the Octavia. Listed it for £700 with the faults, had an offer of 650 and deposit paid within 1 hour of it listing on autotrader. Picked up the same evening. Can't complain at that!
  3. You don't need to change the Bolero, you need a Bluetooth module. I'm selling a fiscon Bluetooth unit that I used in my Octavia. Connects behind the radio. Gives access to everything in the touchscreen phone menu on the bolero
  4. Have a look through this thread. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/261694-golf-mk4-recaro-interior-now-fitted-to-fabia-vrs/

  11. Could be faulty abs sensor, abs wiring or the magnetic ring built into the wheel hub. All three rely on the abs system to work. The only way to know the cause without guessing is to scan the car and get the fault code.
  12. They are around £95 from China. Did you have to drill any of the hatch to fit a rear camera? That is also on my to do list.
  13. The kits I'm talking about are the full OEM retrofit kits:
  14. I am looking at buying a Superb, but it seems that most in my price range haven't been optioned with front parking sensors. They are fitted on my current Octavia and I wouldn't be without them. Getting out of a tight parking space is made much easier. Looking at the complete kits available from China, they come with absolutely everything you need to do it. Have any of you retrofitted them? Just how involved is it? I am quite confident in most jobs, but don't want to be left with half a disassembled car after faffing for hours.
  15. As much as I'd love to keep it there's no room for 2 cars. A DPF is a worry, but then so would be getting a TSI and all of it's associated problems. I won't be selling it until I've found a new motor, which given current circumstances may be a while yet.
  16. Webuyanycar comes up at £500, but after fees etc who knows how much it would really be.
  17. Ah yes mot passed at the end of November. 2 keys hpi clear.
  18. I'm thinking of upgrading to a Superb at some point in the near future, and trying to gauge what my car is worth. It's a 2005 55 1.9 TDI DSG Elegance estate. Currently on 184k miles. I've owned it for 6 years, and only 1 previous owner, who bought it new. A full service history with a massive folder containing all receipts for pretty much everything both I and the previous owner spent on the car, including the original sale invoice for the car. Usual elegance spec, with the following options as well: Maxidot trip computer. ESP. Front parking sensors. Tyre pressure monitor. Multi function steering wheel Mechanically it's pretty sound. It had a cambelt at the end of 2018. New AC compressor and condenser. Recent front discs and pads. Front bushes were done in November. New dmf. Has always been serviced my myself, including changing the DSG fluid on schedule. Body work isn't perfect as you'd expect for the age and mileage. Presentable but nothing like perfect. Having looked on a autotrader, eBay Facebook etc I'm finding it hard to judge what it might be worth. Any ideas?
  19. I'm fairly sure that you can close the latch mechanism with a screwdriver so that it thinks the door is closed.
  20. I recommend a Klaxon horn. Much more interesting
  21. How did you manage to get the projector out of the pre FL? I was actually looking at a set yesterday but couldn't fathom out how it could come out without splitting the entire assembly. The screws holding it to the plastic bracket are done up from the other side, and I couldn't pop the ball joint off the end of the adjuster either.
  22. Here is the 2007 brochure new_octavia_quickv1.pdf
  23. As your profile says you have a 2006 car, I assume you want the 2006 brochure? PDF attached for the 2006 brochure. Octavia 2006 Brochure.pdf
  24. It's almost pointless trying to drill out the bit or plug when the correct socket is £6.45 https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001IL8FZW/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=AMK6ALALRQJZA&psc=1
