Which version?
I have no idea - seems a strange omission to me but who knows! Maybe they didn’t even look at the Options list but just bought it as is? Did they have any options?

Which version?
Yes, the rear view camera was an option and not part of standard kit. It was relatively “cheap” so I got it, and boy am I glad I did!

Driving Height
Still looking! Tried a T-Cross and it is a very nice car with elevated driving position similar to Yeti, HOWEVER, the inside is c**p. All hard plastics and can’t even spec leather or heated windscreen or power drivers seat. Got to keep the Yeti going for some years yet.

Which version?
It’s strange how extras quickly become must-haves! I spec’d heated windscreen and rear view camera on my Yeti and now couldn’t do without them.

Which version?
Yes, takes a couple of minutes but so much easier than scraping! Get an SEL Drive version and it's standard.

Which version?
For 12k miles per annum you really will be better off with a petrol engine. The 1.4 is no slowcoach but if you've got the Yaris for performance the popular 1.2 Yeti is a safer bet. It really depends on what you want!

Cruise Control
You have a touching faith in the thought process and decision making analysis of governments! I doubt very much if any real common sense thinking has been applied to this at all - where is the power coming from, how are drivers without off street parking to charge their vehicles, how will the throughput of cars through charging stations on motorways etc. be ramped up to charge the same number of cars per minute as are filled with diesel/petrol per minute (otherwise queues will extend miles on the motorways), how will every village get fast charging points or how will power distribution be beefed up to provide every dwelling with a charging point. As far as I can see none of this has been resolved. Just bland statements that .... we will be prepared by the changeover date ---- dream on!

Swapping reversing light bulb for a brighter one.
I agree about the value of reversing camera, you do get to rely on it as it makes reversing and seeing what’s behind you so much easier. I haven’t found a problem with the brightness of the reversing light but I guess it depends on where you are reversing and how much space you have.

DSG Gearbox
As I said to Dale_Stevens: "But that’s the way it is! The Yeti is a 10 year old design and was discontinued 3 years ago in 2017. I am sure more modern designed cars built now have the facility you want - but the Yeti doesn’t. Perhaps you need a newer car to fulfil your requirements?"

If you are using start/stop you don’t shift into neutral, by shifting into neutral you are defeating the start/stop system. So either let the start/stop system do it’s job or switch it off and drive accordingly. You can’t choose to use a little bit of the start/stop system - it’s all or nothing!!

Jacking kit - Anything missing?
£3 well spent.

Jacking kit - Anything missing?
That's exactly what it is. Push the open end into the space between the plastic bolt cover and the recess, squeeze slightly and pull off the caps. I tell you it is a b*gg** to remove the caps without this tool - don’t lose it!!!

Wind deflectors
If the window encounters any resistance while closing it immediately reopens. It's a safety feature to prevent fingers getting trapped. What you have to do is make sure that none of the fittings impede the closing of the window or even increase the resistance of the window to closing. The closing motor detects increased resistance and reverses.

Shopping bag hooks in boot
Agreed, but you've been lucky with the locations where your punctures have happened. Me not so lucky!!

Skoda yeti 2015 elegance 1.6TDI
Absolutely, there are many things that prevent the stop/start working, all of them relating to engine management and/or battery condition. It is basically designed to protect the engine and battery. For example if you drive at high speed on a motorway and then come to a sudden halt usually the engine keeps running until turbocharger etc have cooled down. I have stopped worrying about stop/start and just let it look after itself.

Shopping bag hooks in boot
True - but then you sacrifice all that boot space on the off chance you have a puncture on a nice quiet road. Sods law usually dictates its pouring with rain on a fast dual carriageway!

Shopping bag hooks in boot
I agree it's a gamble of trading the extra boot space with the risk of getting a puncture in an inaccessible place. I do carry a bottle of sealant gunk and a plug kit as a sort of last resort but would only use - if it was even feasible - as a real last resort. In my case the 1/3 rd extra boot space was the clincher. Plus my neighbour, a traffic police officer, continually advised me not to try changing a wheel by the side of a road. He had seen too many drivers injured and one tragically killed by passing traffic clipping/colliding with stopped cars. At 74 it just isn't worth it.

So while you're crouched by the side of fast A road or Motorway risking life & limb I'll be safe out of the traffic waiting for the AA (or whoever) to fit a generic spare wheel and get me going all clean & tidy!

The hooks are perfect height if you don't have the optional spare wheel. Also great with adjustable boot floor as they hold the adjustable floor vertical if you need to use the whole of the boot floor and perfectly placed when using half floor.

More Water Ingress - 2014-plate -
I had a distant memory that this had been raised before and the conclusion was that it is almost inevitably caused because the bulkhead vent well drains either side of the vent well have become blocked with debris, leaving rainwater nowhere to go except via the pollen filter into the car, the pollen filter may also be cracked or otherwise displaced. The pollen filter is on the passenger side just below the glovebox so ideally placed to leak water into the car if vents are blocked. Have a quick search on this forum for info on how to replace pollen filter.

Are you sure it's not the sunroof? Seems suspicious that the same footwell is wet and it is a problem that has plagued many Yeti owners with sunroofs.

New Yeti owner
I see that you live in France and having driven there a few times many years ago it seems that some (not all) have a view that their masculinity depends on the weight of their right foot and parking is a dodgem sport. I can’t really say much else apart from that living in North Yorkshire most drivers are more considerate of other drivers and don’t tailgate or park so badly as those drivers you seem to have to deal with. I wish you luck and can only imagine the cost of insurance with 3 cars written off over the years. It would seem that rather than a towbar at the rear for protection you need an RSJ on the front and back of the car for complete protection! Best of luck in the future.
