Just because... Are you absolutely certain you have a Columbus? You don't have a Skoda SD card in one of the SD slots in the glove box do you?

There's probably a way of getting the cd boot changer to play, but I'm buggered if I can remember the trick to it. Something is nagging me in my brain, but I can't remember how it's done. As regards the "Device error" message it sounds like the Bolero is faulty. Might just be the changer mechanism or it might be the electronics. I have a cd changer cartridge on the shelf here which I could sell you if you wanna try that.

I don't I'm afraid, although I will say that there's a couple of folks on here who bought from a certain supplier and had problems. One of those two needed a replacement head unit while the other simply needed a replacement card. I'm not saying it was the card that damaged the unit though but the result was that the flash memory was corrupted beyond recovery.

First thing that springs to mind here is the "professional" fitting. I'd be asking why they couldn't carry out the job professionally. 😉

Problem there is, using the SD card method you're entering into the software update territory which can open a whole new can of worms when it goes wrong.

Yes as long as you're competent with a computer, burning discs, and using Google.

You can save yourself £45 and find those maps online for free, burn them to a DL DVD and install yourself.

V12 maps have just hit the market, so it's possible some sellers aren't manufacturing their cards properly yet and are using the general public as testers. If you want to send your unit to me (or if you're close enough to drop it in) then I'll take a look and see what's up.

If you save the "Maps" folder in its entirety first (drag & drop onto your desktop) then you can always restore it back onto the SD card later if the new maps fail. But I have about a dozen cards here, all 16Gb, and all with the latest maps loaded on them with 648Mb spare.
