ECE 2019/2020 maps are now available on the Skoda Update Portal
The systems might be different, but they use exactly the same maps.

VAG Bluetooth, microphones and after market headunits
The microphone may connect to the Bluetooth module under the seat, or it may go into the quadlock in the cars loom behind the head unit. If it's in the quadlock then it now may not be connected to the new unit if an adapter loom has been used. Or it may be connected and ignored. Or it may have been disconnected and be hanging loose by the rough arsed dealer fitter who clearly did a half baked job by not disabling the factory Bluetooth. What you currently have is unknown. Can it be used by your current head unit? Your question would be best pointed towards the unit manufacturers as they know how their unit works whereas we don't even know what unit you have.

DAB antenna phantom power
That sounds costly...

Columbus Navigation Upgrade
No, not possible. Your upgrade path is a DVD update, the SD card he has is different maps for a different unit.

Amundsen and phone pairing
Because that's not the Bluetooth unit. That's the control module for the drivers electric seat.

Amundsen and phone pairing
You have a Bluetooth problem, not a pairing problem. Find and disconnect the Bluetooth module and reset it first.

DAB antenna phantom power
AM/FM antenna is indeed the white Fakra (one of them at least, the other will be in the rear window cunningly disguised as a heater element). However, the white AM/FM wires do not carry any 12v phantom power. The black DAB fakra on the 6R0 035 501 A will be expecting 12v power though as the antenna needs 12v on that connection for DAB reception, and this 12v power is supplied from the head unit.

Columbus Replacement
Sorry, missed this. I'm up in North Yorkshire so some journey really. For Freedom members I offer a personal message support system which should be possible to repair remotely, or if you're not particularly confident or competent at doing so then remove & send it to me. Repair and update service costs £45 plus postage.

Google Skoda Bluetooth kit or Skoda bluetooth location and select images.

Columbus Replacement
You know it's a simple fix for your Columbus, don't you? I do quite a few of them, and it's generally a day turnaround to get it done and return it to you.

2015 could have one of a few different head units fitted. Please post a pic of it.

Android Auto/CarPlay Retrofit? MY15
I've spoken to adamyt by PM, but for completeness... For Android Auto the best option would be an Amundsen II unit, but would been Component Protection removing and would also need Navigation, Bluetooth etc. reactivating. There are cheaper ways of getting Android Auto, but you lose some functionality in the process and invariably start getting involved with Chinese units.

Amundsen and phone pairing
You have an Amundsen unit, so no Bluetooth built in. Somewhere in the car is s Bluetooth kit. Generally on the floorunder the drivers seat but seeing as you appear to be in France perhaps look under both seats? If it's not there then it'll be hidden behind the dash perhaps. Find it, and disconnect it for a minute and reconnect to reboot.

Take a picture of your Amundsen unit and post it here please.

Columbus slow starting - firmware and map update?
No, it wouldn't make much difference. The hard drive isn't functional to the units startup, its just a storage medium for the maps & music. An SSD drive would mean it accessed the maps quicker, but it wouldn't make the machine faster at getting ready to access them.

Columbus slow starting - firmware and map update?
Slow start up is something you gonna have to get used to I'm afraid. It's just something that is what it is. A software update might make a slight difference as usually it's about 67 seconds from cold boot to full functionality. You might have a crooked software which needs straightening out. Maps as you say are well out of date. Software updates are not without possible bad consequences, so be aware that if your unit is starting to fail then an update could cause problems. You could Google 5238 Josi for a possible update path, and also Google 8557 ( V17) maps for the latest ones available. Or you could head to eBay and find a seller who will supply you with both maybe, or there are sellers with a web presence who can provide the same. Both of these options are simply people who have googled what I told you and are selling the result of that search. Don't be fooled into thinking they sell genuine maps which cost about £180 from the dealers. Or I offer a repair service whereby I'll wipe the unit & reload it to fix the possible software corruption.

Admunsen Map update fails
Unzip to hard drive and then copy to SD card would always be my preferred option.

Admunsen Map update fails
I'm not in the workshop at the moment so I can't test properly, but you should only have Markets and DBinfo.txt files there. Why have you got "show hidden files" enabled and why are you considering playing about with renaming "System volume information"?

Admunsen Map update fails
Okay, so you have an Amundsen MIB1 unit, an MIB1 card, and it appears as though you've downloaded the Amundsen MIB1 maps. So that's good. I guess it all depends now on what you've done wrong with unzipping and transferring. So put your SD card in the computer, and go to "This PC", double click on the SD card and what do you see when it opens?

Admunsen Map update fails
I have some cards for sale, updated to latest maps as a last resort. I do a part exchange for your old card or you can just outright purchase. See here... Or there's the journey of finding out what you did wrong. First up, did you download the correct maps for your particular version ofAmundsen? Are you using a Mac computer? What exactly did you copy to the card and whereabouts on the card did you copy it to? What's the part number on your card? What's the part number of your unit?
