  1. So it is, didn't notice the headlamp symbol woith A in.
  2. I have just downloaded the latest Karoq maual to my computer so I could look up some settings. Interestingley this seems to be for the coming facelift Karoq as the steering wheel and its controls are different in the pictures, and as I have seen on what is predicted to be included in the changes. I went to the lighting section and there no longer seems to be any mention of this auto main beam operation, so it may have been discontinued? Reliability issues?
  3. I have never had a car that does this before and not driven in real dark yet; handbook is less than clear! With lights on auto, if I press down the indicator it goes to auto main beam, press again and it goes off? Presumably on dip? How reliable is this and what is actually happening ? On a long windy road there may be an oncoming car a long way away which will be hidden by a bend after a bit and then come into view again nearer, at what stage will they dip automatically? On sections of dual c'way with no-one coming the other way, will it go on and off ok? You sometimes come across trucks where their headlights lights are hidden by the crash barrier but if my lights are on main beam it would be dazzling the driver?
  4. The trouble is its only those with a gripe that tend to fill in these surveys. If you are really happy with your car and it has never let you down, you are much less likely to go to the bother of responding to the survey.
  5. Unexpectedly changed to a Karoq myself last week after coming across more or less my desired spec in a showroom with a good offer on whilst there to have my Yeti serviced. So I am also now an ex Yeti driver having had and loved them for 3 versions and 10 years and around 160k miles. But now having the Karoq it is clear design has moved on in 10 years. Even though I had issues with the Yeti ride on 17” wheels, my new car on larger 19” is far more comfortable. It is more spacious inside as well with noticeably more width in the cabin
  6. I bet the odometer reads perfect though. My previous Yeti was about 75 mph on speedo for a true 70 yet the odometer on a 100 mile trip was within .1 of a mile to the figure from the sat nav. The estimated arrival time was spot on as well hence the car knows it’s true speed and distance traveled. I will have to determine the speedo readings at true speeds and remember them like I did with the Yeti. Not a big issue really.
  7. Doesn't sound like it is working correctly. My experience with DSG in previous Yeti and current new Karoq, is the opposite, and I often wonder why it holds onto low gears longer than I would. Sounds like a trip to the dealers is needed, which should be covered by your warranty?
  8. On low mileage it will be 10000 miles or one year so you have missed a service. The car may have been supplied set to extended used by higher mileage drivers which records the use and calls for a device when the oil needs changing
  9. When reversing up my drive there are two narrow gaps I have to pass and at both my new car did an emergency stop and I had to reapply throttle to start moving again. It stop suddenly and uncomfortably and I don’t want this happening again every time? Is there a way to temporarily disable this feature? Can’t spot it easily in the manual.
  10. I think the ride of my new Karoq on 19” wheels is much smoother than my previous Yeti on 17”? A Yeti on 16” is pretty good and about the same.
  11. Lots of engines are what’s in stock only and can’t be ordered. Its worth looking around what’s available to avoid the wait. Decided the car in the showroom whilst there to get my Yeti serviced was more or less what I would order on Wednesday and drove it away on Thursday. My car could not have been ordered at the moment
  12. I was a little worried about the ride on my new car on 19” wheels as my previous Yeti was harsh on the standard 17” and far better on its 16” winter wheels. However very impressed with the ride so far which is much better than my previous 3 Yetis, even the Greenline which I had on 16” wheels
  13. Because I already have them!!
  14. It’s probably actually 12 months old so asking for yearly service? Not reset when sold? The car I bought yesterday new was made either late Feb or early March so about 6 months old.
  15. No I would never use snow chains myself, but the handbook says chains can only be used for 16” wheels, hence wondered if my Yeti 16” winter wheels and tyres would fit
  16. What are the recommended wheel an tyre for winter? Reading the handbook it says you can only use snow chains on 16” 7j wheels with 215/60 tyres? Hence the car must be able to fit 16” wheels? My car has 19” wheels but could I use the set of 16” wheels and winter tyres that I have from my previous Yeti? In the handbook it say cars with 19” wheels use a spacer and this has to be added if upgrading a car with smaller wheels? What is this?
  17. Well after 10 years in 3 Yetis, and prior to that 4 years with a superb, I am collecting a new Karoq Edition today. Took my Yeti in for the 3 year brake fluid and Haldex service, and left having bought this car yesterday from the showroom. I had been intending to keep the Yeti for some time, even bought the optional 5 year warranty when new, but this Karoq just stood out and I couldn't resist it. I suppose 10 years in virtually the same car was enough; I have never previously had the same model twice in a row! A 190ps, in the special black paint with several extras fitted, more or less what I would have piucked if ordering one from the factory, and delivered next day with a really good offer on to shift cars out before the new reg change.
  18. Took Yeti in for some service work required at 3 years old, brake fluid & Haldex, and ended up getting this free by buying a new Karoq, which I will be collecting tomorrow! I had intended to stick with the Yeti for some time but decided it was time to upgrade. Getting an 190ps edition, so most powerful engine I have ever had in a car to date. So I guess I need to move over to the Karoq section now! So 10 years in 3 Yeti's ends tomorrow, never previously had the same car twice in a row, 160k+ relatively trouble free miles. A few issues in the 2010 car which was very early in the production run and had a few teething problems, but it never actully left me stuck anywhere.
  19. My wife’s Citigo makes an unusual turbine like noise when accelerating hard. Unusual to those of us that are used to 4 cylinder engines. It effectively half of a 6 cylinder which were renowned for smoothness. Different but not unpleasant
  20. Isn’t the Bluetooth module fitted under the seat when this facility is available on that age car? Perhaps it has failed but radio will still work without it normally?
  21. I presume you have a petrol with the dry clutch? It may have got wet and hence the shudder. Hopefully will dry out and be ok. A diesel with its wet clutch dog submerged in the gearbox oil is sealed and could not be affected like this?
  22. I bought my winter tyres on steel hubs from an internet source. I use the normal wheel bolts from the summer alloys with no issues. These are not Skoda steel wheels but I suspect the bolts are pretty standard. Its much easier to remove and fit wheels if you buy a screw in guide rod, about £8 on amazon or eBay.
  23. No I couldn’t do that either, not supported as far as I recall
  24. It all worked fine hands free with Bluetooth when I got it. It was an elegance, but the lower spec cars don’t have the Bluetooth module so won’t do this unless fitted as an extra. However after upgrading the phone it all locked up every time it tried to load the address book from phone into car unit as not compatible. 2014 elegance immediately loaded the phone book from same phone and worked fine.
  25. My 2010 yeti was fine with the phone I had when I got the car, but when the phone was replaced I could not get it to work properly as the car was not compatible with the newer phone. When I changed to a 2014 yeti same phone was fine after that.
