  1. Will it make much difference. My mum drives 3 or 4 miles at a time
  2. It was very very cold when she tried, and she hadnt given it much driving between her home, and ours. After i gave it a good run it has been starting better, but still not right. New Battery from euro car parts was on offer £56.00
  3. My mum has a 2015 Fabia and has been having battery wanting lights for the past few weeks. She has shown me that sometimes it can take 2/3 attempts to start the car, and I have seen it myself. I took the car out for a good run on Saturday and had an error message both on the dash (three letters) and a stop start error. The car has done 15,000 miles in this time. I have bought a new battery, and am going to get a friendly local garage to fit.
  4. I have had to raise a complaint as SkodaUK Warranty have said its not covered.
  5. Thanks Shenanigans00. Are you able to post a picture, and also confirm that your car is less than 12 months old.
  6. Car was taken to dealer this morning who have taken photos, and sending them to Warranty to see what they say. The comment was 'there are fibres on the split' so they are saying that it is my mum brushing against the seal as she gets in the car.
  7. Good morning, We have an issue with our front drivers door seal where it appears to have started to perish. Although we have not taken it to the dealership, they have seen a photo and they have said that it is not covered by warranty. Curious how this could happen as if it was being rubbed when the driver gets in, surely the seat should be damaged as well. comments would be appreciated.
  8. Good morning, I drive a 1.6 DSG and over the past few weeks I have noticed more of a shudder from 2nd to 3rd. Dependant on how quickly I accelerate depends on how long the shudder last for. To me it feels like the clutch is slipping. The car has 36k on the clock. Has anybody else experienced this????
  9. I would have thought that there would be some sort of sensors which would only be on the car if TP was there as well. To be honest, I hate it, and always will!. The only time I think you need it is when you get a puncture. I have it on my MKIII, but didn't have it on my MKII, and also had it on my P407. The problem is that it is so sensitive, and I have had it go off at me twice now for no real reason. Sometimes it happens if you have had the tyre changed (two-three days earlier!!). The first time it happened on this car I pulled over on the M25 as I was concerned. nothing wrong, and for me, that was really dangerous.
  10. I hope you are not calling my Race Blue Elegance DSG a 'standard' car - Live in Borehamwood!!!!
  11. Update - Wednesday morning, as I was moving on of the childrens booster seats, I found the problem (I hope) ONE DEAD MOTH......
  12. I know this is a late post, but just had our May13 Citigo serviced today and they tried to do the update, however they couldn't do it as they say they now also have to fit a new fan and that this part is on back order. I presume this is because they have to do so many of them. They told me it was not urgent, and they will probably do it next time it is in for a service (in another 12 months)
  13. I am at the dealership at the moment (for my Citigo service) and they had never heard of that. Didn't happen last night, so will see if it does re-occur. My wife laughed last night as I took my keys to bed with me just incase......
  14. It might be worth asking the dealer what is free stock. When I bought mine (last may) I wanted it quite quickly, didn't get any extras and had it in two weeks (it was already built, but not at the docks). I really miss my sunroof, so for me, it would be worth waiting three to four months, but if they had a car on its way with this, and a slightly extra spec I would consider it. I know I am strange, but colour is not a priority to me as once I am in it, I cant really see it (I have race blue on this one, and had Met Grey last time) whatever you do, I am sure you will enjoy it.
  15. Interesting, as it was the hottest day of the year yesterday. will see what happens tonight.
  16. the strange thing is, it has been locked all morning and nothing so far. I hope I don't have one of those creepy issues where the alarm only goes off at night for no reason.
  17. Thanks. I think that will only work once, so I would have to do that each time.
  18. Good morning, In the small hours of Sunday morning my alarm went off. I thought I might have left the windows open, and in my sleepy state I just unlocked, and then relocked the car, leaving my finger on the button to make sure the windows were closed. this only happened once, so back to sleep. Last night, the alarm went off at about 9.30, then about 11.30 and then 12.30. (or so). the only way I could think of to stop it from going off was to unlock the car and then go and open the door, so it would not re-lock. The strange thing is the amount of time it took for the alarm to go off again. It wasn't exactly an hour each time, but if there is a fauly, surely it would have gone off more. Haas anybody experienced this?? Can anybody tell me how to completely switch off the alarm as I don't think I can get to the dealers for a while (as I am taking the wifes car in for a service tomorrow.) thanks in advance.
  19. The service plan is worth having if you live in London as it is priced by Skoda and not the dealer. I used to drive all over the country, and therefore I could call around to find a cheap dealer, but now I don't do as much mileage. So, although I am paying £50 per month, with the mileage it covers, I will get the timing belt, and any pads done without having to worry about the cost. If you are only doing 10-15k a year, then it is not worth it, especially with the free servicing you can get. It is also important to me that as I do such high mileage that by having the service AND maintenance, I am more likely to get a loan car.
  20. I took out a 3 1/2 year PCP at the highest mileage as I use the car for work. In my new job I am currently doing 1000 miles per month less than I said on the PCP. I am hoping that this will have a positive effect when I decide to change the car. The downside is that I am paying £50 per month for the service and maintenance plan as in my last car I had the timingbelt done after just over 2 1/2 years. It is always swings and roundabouts with a PCP and servicng. Good luck sorting it.
  21. I hate the SS. I drive a 1.6 DSG and often wish I could perm switch it off, but to answer the Op if I do use the SS button, It always works.
  22. I think the Octy armrest has the poorest of designs. I have it in the highest postion and furthest forwards, but because it doesn't lock, it tends to slide back a lot of the time (especially when I have a passenger who is trying to share it). hopefully at some point they will get a better design.
  23. I have a full size spare, as I did with my first Octy, and in fact I was going to take the old one out but forgot. I would stick with the full size. It might weigh a bit more, but IF you get a puncture, on a space saver you have to lower your speed and it is only limited mileage. Would always spec one of them as I hate the gunk. Keep what you have. surely it cant cost that much extra in fuel.
  24. Its easy to add them, but a pain to find them. Although I love the sat nav being integrated, there are a few things that annoy me about it. No speed cameras showing, cant easily mute and then unmute (I only like the spoken direction when I get close to my destination) when you chose the postcode option, the numbers are shown before letters, which is pointless in the UK. I am sure there are more!
