  1. Yes, the one-touch settings are not accepted, and the comfort closing from the key fob doesn't operate - I also have a small battery drain that requires a charge every few months, but I'm not sure whether that is linked or not. As to the contribution of Mr Skinny Legs (Peppa Pig reference for those without small children!), when the wife sees the cost of the loom it'll be easier to blame him!
  2. Permission to say "bugger" ? I had this in a Touran and found it was easier to fit a new loom than mess around with a repair, I think it was about £70 back in 2019.
  3. Someone has half-inched one of the supposedly lockable end pieces of my roof bars and they are of course now very vulnerable to being stolen so I can't leave them in situ. I've not found anyone selling parts for the bars (except the bolts), are they exclusively Skoda or are they made by others such as Thule?
  4. @J.R. That's a blow, I was hoping to pick your brains
  5. Resurrecting an old thread, sorry. @J.R. Having the benefit of stripping down my 2012 Yeti I now see that the steering controller arrangement is entirely different from my 2010 Yeti. Did you manage to get cruise sorted out? I guess a new steering controller and stalk sorted it?
  6. Update - after fitting a new OEM Continental MAF from Skoda Stourbridge (£150) pretty much all of my driveability issues have been cleared up. In case anyone is thinking you need to have the MAF totally fail before replacing it. I never had any MAF related error messages, nor any huge starting issues - my issues were fuel economy, poor fuelling just off tickover and almost imperceptible surging on part throttle.
  7. I've had the updated Carista and had a play with the settings, as you do Anyway, a small matter of concern has arisen in that the throttle position sensor is 14% at idle, and 80% at wide full open. I've tried resetting the throttle to no avail. I'm not entirely comfortable with how the diesel throttle works; should I be looking at the throttle pedal, or the motor assembly on the air intake known by most as the throttle valve (cleaned 6 months ago) ?
  8. I never understand the logic behind these 'conversions' of small cars to 'campers', where would you use this when most layby's in UK don't allow overnight stops? 3am knock on the window from police patrol anyone? No thanks, too small, too cramped, too claustrophobic, how do you shut the tailgate, how do you get out in a hurry - and where do you store all of your kit (potentially wet clothes, wet boots, food, kettle, chairs, knick knacks etc) overnight when you are taking up so much space lying in the back? In my opinion there is too much compromise, too much potential to damage the expensive interior with random bits of wood and this takes no account of the fact that being an average 6'2" and 15 stone my companion would need to be the size of Kylie Minogue. For me, carrying a day tent such as a Coleman Octagon which packs up fairly small and light at about 20kg is a much cleaner solution. It's 4m x 4m, 2m high and takes 15 mins to pitch single handed and can be bought for less than the cost of a replacement torn seat over/door trim/headlining, it sleeps 3 comfortably, gives you space to relax and leaves you better prepared for the next day. But as they say, opinions are like bum holes, everyone has one
  9. There seems to be a shortage of this part, according to dealers I have spoken to. Does anyone have any good experiences with other makes? I've seen Toraun (?) Hella and Facet online.

  11. For anyone that's interested, it's possible to raise tickover via engine adaptations - the new value figure represents the figure over the standard tickover that you require - mine sounds and runs better 50rpm higher, but I'll try an extra 100rpm before I make a final decision.
  12. Does the tuning box connect to the fuel rail? (my 2010 2.0tdi came with a DTUK that used to do this) Try removing the tuning box and see how the car runs. MAF sensor location? Follow the air intake and you'll find the sensor in the plumbing between the battery and the head.
  13. This is when my Greenline goes into limp mode at the slightest provocation. Mine is 2012, I get all of these symptoms of a passive regen but the light also shows. Calculated ash figure is 80% so perhaps mine is in end of life care?
  14. @yeti99 put the kettle on, and do some reading on these pages and others before you make any decisions.
  15. The light indicates a regen is in process, often this can't happen as the DPF is blocked, or the EGR is causing a problem - it's complicated ! £25 on an OBD2 plug will allow you to use an app such as VAG PDF which will give you a clearer picture.
  16. $64,000 question ... A 'proper' clean involves removing the DPF from the car and subjecting with a chemical clean that removed the accumulates soot, and more importantly the deposited ash. Many use additives in the tank, or spray which is applied directly into the DPF to try and minimise the accumulation ... when buying used, you are in the twilight zone as you have no idea of the car's history.
  17. No mention of the 80k DPF service/clean?
  18. Try driving the car with the MAF plug removed, I have the same symptoms with my 1.6tdi - when pulling away unless careful the engine drops way down to 500 rpm due to poor fueling. With MAF plug removed, default values are used. It's a simple test that doesn't take effort.
  19. I've got some running about to do this weekend so I thought I'd run some goo through to assist the passive regen. Could only find a bottle of Cataclean at Halfrauds this morning. Never tried the stuff before but I suppose it's a start, and it's not a full tank. I need to organize my life a bit better to have a bottle of stronger stuff on hand for when a trip is planned.
  20. @Urrell thanks. I wonder exactly what this entails, whether it's an off the car 'proper' clean or one of the two-stage JLM type procedures?
  21. Forced or passive regen. I also notice the n75 valve noises at gear changes are MUCH louder even under 2k rpm, and the power surges quite a bit too.
  22. Car has done 112k, I wasn't aware the PDF had such a limited life - had I known I certainly wouldn't have bought it without proof it had been dealt with correctly. That's something that should be added to any potential buyers checklist along with usual suspects; cambelt, DSG oil change, Haldex service etc? In the short term I will whip out the DPF sensor and spray in one of the products that lower the regen temperature to see if that helps, or at least pegs the problem at this point.
  23. My 2012 1.6tdi Greenline goes into limp mode really easily during regen, the slightest hill or revs approaching 2500 rpm causes the sudden loss of power. Not a problem normally, figures from VAG DPF app post regen; oil ash residue 55.93g (80%) soot mass calc 8.74 (36%) high pressure EGR closing 37% differential pressure 4 hPa (37 hPa just before regen started) 300 miles since last regen, but many failed attempts during that time. NOTHING on VCDS so I'm in the dark, any suggestions ?
  24. Thanks, I'll have a butchers. I bought the brackets from Caffyn's, they should land in a few days
  25. @PetrolDave Thanks Dave
