Replacement Windscreen
I have a cracked windscreen, a 6" star in front of the passenger which was caused by a criminal act for which my local constabulary have declined to take any further action despite statements from me and my passenger; A clever individual threw coins through the open passenger window while I was doing 30mph in a filter lane, the coins hit me, rattled around the dash and caused the crack. Coming the other way at the time was a very large and loaded quarry truck which would have totally flattened us if I'd lost control. My question; this was not a stone off the road, it was a deliberate random act by someone who needs psychiatric assessment, how will the insurance company see a replacement request in these circumstances? When discussing the incident with police I was put on my guard because they seemed more interested in how I was going to get a windscreen replacement rather than discussing what action they would take against the offender.

Diesel Jerry Can OK to use for Petrol?
I remember 20 years ago during a fuel crisis in Birmingham; some clown taxi driver stored petrol in 3 x large black council dustbins in his basement without a lid (not that a lid would have helped!) The local council demolished 3 or 4 houses either side of his

CAYC 1.6 tdi issues.
Although EGR is now blocked on the inlet side of the block, and mapped out ... I still get limp mode during regen. A live scan by VAG DPF shows a constant 100% closure of the EGR, except for a minor flutter down to 0% closure when limp mode is activated. Why should EGR have this effect when 1) it's blocked and 2) it's remapped out ?

If economy figures are way off they can be adjusted in VCDS.

Frequent Regens
You are trying to make decisions based on wishy washy data. For the sake of £25 ish you might as well get an OBD gadget such as Carista, it will allow you to use apps like VAGDPF that tell you what's actually happening with your DPF. The Carista app will also allow you to force a regen. Here's a VAGDPF screenshot to give you an idea what I mean

Frequent Regens
It's probably not that straightforward. What diagnostic readings are you getting for soot and ash levels? This may unlock the advice you are after.

Engine code 20557, infotainment system code 00012
I get Carista error codes on my nav system, the numbers are meaningless, there are no references available on a Google search to assist. I only use Carista for forced regens and the odd airbag light these days.

Frequent Regens
Probably a good idea to set out what model, what engine, what year, total mileage to date and what the other problems were (engine ECU update?)

Overboost due to Stick Vanes
Not a single vote. It says a lot that some folks messaged me privately rather than commit to a public comment.

Overboost due to Stick Vanes
I understand they are supposed to raise the temperature of the combustion which burns off the excess carbon in the vane mechanism.

Overboost due to Stick Vanes
2012 Yeti 1.6tdi with CAYC, overboost problems which render the car undriveable during regens. I have the opportunity to drive 500 miles in 2 journey's this week so I'm looking for a product that will have an effect fairly immediately so I can at least get to work and back while I plan the next step. Before anyone says; I'm not taking the turbo off, and I'm not using Mr Muscle, so what are the highest rated in-tank options?

Towing with a Roomster
My 2007 Roomie Scout was mint when sold earlier this year, no rust ANYWHERE. Remapped the 1.9tdi was magnificent, and towing effortless. Sold only because of the difficulties I had getting in and out !

CAYC 1.6 tdi issues.
@bigkris I had underboost, overboost and a really loud whistle for months on end. I checked all the vacuum pipes, actuator and found no errors. Limp mode was coming VERY frequently, on partial throttle, after a very slight lift and even on a steady throttle - cycling the ignition in Lane 3 is quite daunting for the first dozen times! I figured limp mode could either be EGR, DPF or variable vane turbo related hence the bombardment with Forte and spray EGR cleaner etc. The only sensor I have yet to fit is the DPF pressure sensor which needs to be coded. What ECU software version is yours running, mine is 8822.

CAYC 1.6 tdi issues.
I had this issue with my 2012 CAYC, what a pain - at times this has been undriveable. When limp mode kicks in a quick recycle of the ignition should bring it back in line. I changed MAP and MAF sensors, N75 valve and it made quite a difference. Other than that I have been pumping Forte, Archoil etc thru at every opportunity. 6 months down the line it's much better - but I will be buying an EGR Simulator as I'm too tight to fit a new EGR
