  1. I showed them a picture of it, but they still said if no code is showing, nothing they can do under warranty.
  2. I just posted on another thread. Same problem with Error Workshop etc. No fault could be found so they cannot fixed under my extended warranty. Can anyone tell me if this will became a major problem if I do nothing. They have told me to come back when it happens again, leaving the ignition switched on so they can see the code. They also told me they have other customers with the same problem and not to believe all I read on forums!!!
  3. My car is a 2017 Octavia 7 speed DSG with 40K on the clock. I have had this fault intermittently for about a year. Just been on a driving holiday and it didn't appear once. Booked it in with Skoda yesterday as I am on extended warranty. No fault shows when they do the diagnostics and I am informed that quite a few customers have the same problem! It was suggested that the next time it happens, I drive it to Skoda and leave the ignition on so they can see the fault, otherwise they cannot fix it under the warranty as they don't know if it's a microswitch or the whole gear assembly. Am I OK to ignore it or will I break down on a journey at some stage?
  4. Just had the same problem. Cleaned the windscreen numerous times, then tried vinegar and it at last seems to be better.
  5. Hi Frank. Do you mean just an ordinary garage. Skoda want £60 for a diagnostic that might not even show it and then £160 for the microswitch if it's that.
  6. Hi, I have been getting this message on and off for over a year. It's hardly on for more than 2 seconds. Today it came on twice and I could just about read it before it went off. Skoda tell me it's either a microswitch which will cost £160 or a whole lever assembly. What happens if I just leave it?
  7. Having a problem with my stop start. Tried to check battery status by pressing trip button, but only goes to Time, followed by Service. No Battery? Skoda Octavia 2017, 35K on clock aH, just read that this is no longer available afterf 2016.
  8. Thank you. Will ask the garage next time I pass. What happens if you do nothing?
  9. 3 times now, I get an error flash up in front of me, but it's gone before I can rully read it. It says Error Workshop........then goes off. I have an Octavia DSG 2017 car with 29,000 on the clock.
  10. I have the same query. Car is 4 years old and has done 28000 miles. Next August will be the official Cam Belt change - err I think or so the Skoda dealership says. It will have done about 35000 miles by next August. Can I assume I don't need a Cam belt change? It's a 1.6 Octavia 2017 estate diesel automatic.
  11. Thank you. I will get the aircon services next time and will just monitor what they say about the shocks.
  12. Rather pleased to read all these posts. Just had my 2017 Octavia MOTd and Inspection service. Got a red warning that I need an Aircon service (£99) and an Amber warning that shocks are leaking. (£511) The car is 2017 Auto Octavia, with 27,500 on the clock. Tyres are only down to 4 since new and brake pads are only 40% worn. So I rang to find out what it meant and how could it be on this car. Never known it before on any car. OK I have a misting, not a leak!! Is this a money making exercise?
  13. Thank you so much for the information. That will save some money. 🙂
  14. It's an Octavia 1.6 DSG TDI automatic.. Hope that helps. I have one free service left being done next Tuesday. Brake fluid and MOT will be done then too. It looks to me like I can pick and choose exactly what they do the year after. Was thinking of buying a service plan, but I think maybe not and we choose what we get done. Thank you so much
  15. My 2017 Octavia DSG Auto is having it's second service next week and I have been looking at servicing costs. The car is on a PCP plan, but we are going to keep the car. It has only done 21000 miles. I was looking at their servicing for next year . Air con service and DSG Oil change? Are all those really necessary with less than 30,000 miles on the clock? Also, we only do about 8,000 a year or less and the Skoda garage tells me I should be on fixed servicing. Our last car was on variable and it was ages between services. Could I not go on to variable servicing?
  16. Hi - no, the car told me it was due March 2019, so I booked a service. Looking back, you are right, I should have had a service at August 2018 - one year, so I guess it was set for variable. I have the app on my phone so can see the dates. Will ask about pollen filter, doesn't say on the paperwork.
  17. No it doesn't include it. OK, so will stick with the service, although it seems early with only 7K miles done since the last one. Lockdown didn't help!!
  18. Hi - car had done 12539 miles at service in March 2019. I suppose that's also a possibility that they didn't reset the service interval. They told me when I bought it that the car is supposed to be on Fixed service intervals if under PCP or doing less than 10K a year. But maybe it just wasn't set on Fixed in the first place. Would you recommend I go for the service. I have only done just over 7K since the last service. We are actually going to keep the car when the PCP stops next January. Do you have an opinion on whether Variable servicing is OK for a low mileage car?
  19. Hi, bought my Octavia new under a PCP in August 2017 with £279 Service Plan. It went in for a service March 2019 covered on the plan. Then I had a battery problem and they changed it under the warranty. Had a call the other day to say the service was overdue, but the car was saying another 10,500 miles or 256 days. I'll have a guess that when they changed the battery, it reset the car to variable servicing. So called them today and booked it in for MOT and service next month. They also said I need a brake fluid change. My husband doesn't think it needs a brake fluid change!! Car mileage is 20746 So do I need a service or not? And do I really need a brake fluid change?
  20. I am getting the same problem on a 2017 Skoda Octavia DSG. Stop/start has stopped working. Having read stuff on here, my husband put the car on charge yesterday, but it is still not showing fully charged. I haven't had a low battery warning, but I only do about 12 miles to work and back 3 days a week and then around 30 to somewhere else.
  21. Picked up min e on 27th March. Silver Octavia Estate, 1.6 SE TDI DSG with cruise control and proper spare wheel. Just love it
  22. 2 weeks and only just over 200 miles on the clock! I just love it. Sold our 8 year old Mark II DSG 1.9 estate and bought new 1.6 SE TDI DSG, but got them to put Cruise Control on. It's just a lovely car. Don't notice any difference from the 1.9. Lots of power, very quiet. Got 60 MPG and that's just doing 12 miles to work!!
  23. You just answered my question. My Tocco Lite contacts didn't go over, although the numbers did, which is useless.
  24. I still have this car for sale and I'm told it's a good price, but nobody has been to see it?
