wiper blades

Featured Replies

my wipers are starting to smear when cleaning so i'm looking to order a couple of new ones

any particular recommendations?

I would always go with the Bosch aero ones. Have had them on a few cars now. Good wipes. They are a bit more substantial than the standard ones.

Valeo are usually good too. Wouldn't rule out genuine Skoda ones either - not sure which Manufacturer actually makes them though.

I’ve used

and will be doing so again in near future so I have spares on hand for when I decide to swap.

Usually an annual event.

I love new blades.

Bosch Aero Twins every time.

A860S front set (24" and 19")

A331H rear (13")

Edit: this is for an estate...

Have you thought about the ECOCUT PRO?

mine also leaves lines as it wipes, and I have tried Bosch Aero, not sure but my screen looks without damages.

I've just bought the Bosch A860s pack for fitting at the weekend.

They hover between 16-20GBP on Amazon & come in around half the price of Genuine Skoda ones & even cheaper than the Halfords own brand.

You can get the Bosch A860S from Europarts reduced from £36.99 to £24.08 on a weekend web deal. This was about what I paid 6 months or so ago.

Sign up to the EuroCarParts newsletter, they seem to have sales about 75% of the time, so you never have to wait long for some sort of discount on Wiper Blades. Quick delivery as well

Carparts4less (their sister site) is usually cheaper for the same stuff even with the silly discounts on ECP. Quite often codes on CP4L too.

Is A331H definitely the right one for the rear? Eurocarparts and Wiper blades.co.uk seem to list the A403H as the rear?

Want to make sure before ordering the wrong ones, cheers ;)

No worries, I did wonder actually after posting that if you had the estate as the window is smaller on the estate! Thanks for the quick reply though

I have replaced my existing wiper blades which was genuine Skoda ones last year to new genuine Skoda wiper blades for the front & rear on my estate but when I purchased the front wiper blades last year sometime they only cost £25.00 actually £31.50 for the pair & I think the rear cost me around £12.00 for my estate.

You can get them from here but seem a bit expensive for the fronts?

& to be honest at the time I didn't think it was that much but looking at them prices now, next time I need a set for the front, I think I will go down the Bosch route too.

Thank you for this.  Just ordered some Bosch ones from Amazon.  Good price and next day delivery.

I recently "bent"  my drivers wiper blade ARM and was horrified to be quoted £71 for replacement - how can this price be justified for such a minor component?   It is extremely difficult to re-bend to the correct angle and as a result I get a very uneven windscreen clean plus  noise!   Any thoughts.  Second hand bits very hard to come by on such a recent car  -  do any VW  wiper  arms match?

Guess you could try the Briskoda parts (page 6 5th post down) give them a call or try your local TPS dealer

Some TPS branches sell to the public & some don't so enter your postcode & give them a call.

I was tempted by genuine but the Bosch front pair can be had for £20 on Amazon. CP4L seems best for the rear (hatch) for about £11. Probably hold off a couple of weeks and see if CP4L or ECP come out with a silly discount for Black Friday.

That sounds like a good shout B) with black Friday around the corner might end up with 50% plus off.

Bosch A860S is the old set from Bosch, the new one for Octavia mk3 is A620S (front)

Rear Hatchback (Sedan) is A403H

Rear Combi is A331H

Is A620S for LHD only? This site seems to suggest so:

The same site lists the A860S for Right hand drive:

The Halloween one was pretty good on both sites. The CP4L one was 16% but they must have forgotten to apply the usual restrictions on certain items. Even worked on a bluefin remap unit lol.

It worth trying to clean the blades with vinegar. Just take a piece of kitchen paper and soak it in vinegar. Rub it along the blades and it removes a lot of the contamination restoring the blades efficiency.  Doesn't always work but worth a try.
