  1. One of the most comprehensive sale ads I've seen & best of luck selling such a nice example! Being a big BMW fan my lad would love this but at 20 it's just a little above his means!
  2. I reckon he could see somewhere between £500 & £1k but more likely on the lower end of that range. There's a re-furb diesel Felly pick up that keeps rolling round fleabay, started just under £4k & is still around the £3.5k mark. Makes you wonder! :p
  3. Rare as rocking horse teeth I would have thought, but £3k + ?? Almost seems a shame to subject it to everyday use & perhaps modding could be on the horizon if a new owner was so minded. Not dissimilar from the £3k Fun currently up for grabs but with a hell of a lot less mileage! Value wise who knows, it's what anyone is prepared to pay at the end of the day but would provide a great starting point to long term ownership.
  4. Hi, we've been running a 1.4mpi for around 4 years & although it's not that responsive until you get in the right rev range it's been a damn good reliable little car! Ours has just over 90k on the clock & the chain remains, touch wood, relatively quiet at the moment. How many miles has yours covered as the timing chain replacement interval is quoted at around 120k. Bear in mind that noisy chains can still do an awful lot of miles & I can testify to that in older models! Around £200 all in is a decent price for this & may be worth considering if the intention will be to extend your ownership?
  5. Welcome & nice to hear your progression through Skoda!
  6. Probably difficult for me to quote in relation to the vRS? Labour wise we were looking at around 1.5 hrs so probably a case of working that up with parts + the dreaded VAT!
  7. Last year front WB replacement on our Fab Classic quoted around the £200 or just over mark. We ended up doing it ourselves using the workshop where my lad works. Parts wise you're looking at < £50.
  8. But the acid test is do they sell?! Just as water tends to find it's own level so do cars value wise. Modded vRS's seem harder to shift. I'm more into older Skodas & particularly pick ups. Many guys in that respect persistently overvalue their vehicles with the net result they just roll round on ebay etc until they find that optimal value point or not as the case may be. Of course you can strike lucky & find that one buyer who really wants your car!
  9. Nice array of shots! Particularly enjoyed the crown patterned interior, audio arrangement with Sony speakers built into the rear uprights :p & the neat cover/tonneau . The speakers could double up as vibrational back therapy!
  10. ^ Reckon so & responded to this under General Maintenance.
  11. Hi, I've never owned a vRS but have always tended to work on the 60k/4 year rule in respect of my Skodas. Based on what you've verified I would say no not at the present time, but do make doubly sure it has been done. In your case I would again fit a kit at somewhere around 90 to 95k or prior to 2016, whichever comes first. If the water pump drives from the belt best to also renew at the same time.
  12. Around £180 ish for our 1.4 mpi Fab with Churchill
  13. No must admit I've never managed to work out the link to frogs with crowns? I don't particularly like them & removed the external ones a while back! Would be interested to hear some more facts/info on your new Fun
  14. I'll bear this one in mind. Do you think he'd offer discount to Brisky members!
