  1. It’s the one drum they kept banging in hospital, up days and down days! I don’t mind taking the rough with the smooth; but am looking forward to when things level out!! Gonna get Zee to put my battery back in my car tomorrow and start her up. May even get Zee to whip her round the block and clean up the discs as they’re very rusty, of course!
  2. Had an off day today, but down to pushing myself a little far yesterday…. Managed a 2 mile walk 😁 Feeling it today I must admit. My heart also had a very quick testing rhythm last night, which panicked me and had a crap nights sleep. Had a day on the Playstation today so hope tonight will be a better nights sleep. Oh mate, that is soooooo amazing of you to spread the word 🥰 It really is sooooo appreciated.
  3. I have come across this before on the wife’s car. Check the front and rear face of the disc as even the slightest buildup of rust where it’s been sat up will make this sound. It was driving my wife crazy until I found a very, very small bit of corrosion on the outer face. Just enough for the pad to graze over it at slow speed. Nothing at all over say 10mph. Grabbed a bit of emery cloth and rubber it out. Until it was parked up again for another 6 weeks, which reminds me ……..
  4. I’ve come across Merc A-class that had rear pad indicators iirc. Possibly some newer beemers too.
  5. There is a company that will sell you the entire bi-xenon kit, which can eve be fitted to standard headlamps. Not cheap when you chuck in their ballast but did look a decent setup.
  6. That was how I justified the second pint last evening 😇 As it turns out, another moment of joy was when I woke this morning ….. this was literally only the second night since 2015 that I slept through the night without waking up Genuinely not overstating this…. I can usually only manage about 4 hours at best in one go before I’m awake. I can always go back to sleep, but very frustrating waking to every single night at least once, usually 2 or 3 times a night. I fell asleep at 22:15 and woke at 06:15. This also means I’m no longer reliant on painkillers as I would be waking in agony after 3 hours prior to last evening 🤘
  7. I have can’t see there being 2 cambelts Cambelts are used to keep the crank and camshaft in time with each other, so really no need for 2 of them on a small engine. it’ll be an aux belt that drives the alternator, A/C and maybe the power steering (not overly familiar with your engine, but stick me in front of it and i’d be able to tell you) plus an actual cambelt that won’t be visible without removing a plastic cover. Some cars have water pumps that are driven by the cambelt, some are driven by the aux belt. Hopefully, someone with direct knowledge of the 1.2tsi engine will come along and clarify.
  8. Oh it so does…. And apples are good for you, right!!?!
  9. Had my INR test result, which were all good. So, given I’ve two days until the next check, why not treat myself
  10. God shoot me ….. I sounded old when I posted that 😱
  11. Given the recent feedback on this thread I’m gonna give this a go 👍
  12. I can even go one step further and tell you that Durham NHS are actually trialling the at-home INR testing, which is why I hope I can convince North Bristol NHS Trust to do the same, but ain’t holding my breath 😞
  13. Ken, I assume you couldn’t have read very well as a cannula is used for an INR check. No one will be taking blood out through my manhood!
  14. No need to catheterise my own veins. Where on earth did you get that from? Not sure what you’ve been reading, but what I know is that the INR can be done in an almost identical way as people with diabetes. Ie a finger pr1ck to get blood, which is then absorbed by the INR test strips and put into the machine….. https://coaguchek.roche.com
  15. I’ve seen that done to pad wear wires to get rid of the dash warning light…..?!?
  16. Absolutely essential you do, please 🥰
  17. OMG 😱 Please thank her from the bottom of my heart. Would love to kiss and give her a quick hug to thank her so much! Not sure about the amazing bit…. I’ve just had to roll with the punches 🤗
  18. You and Zee are it’s right, I do need to wind myself in. I don’t find it easy relying on other people, even my wife. I’ve been a good boy today and some exactly as I’ve said…. Been watching movies all day, with a little visit from my fury bestie, Maple, which was awesome as not seen her for a few weeks, obviously! Got the doctors at 8:20am to get my INR checked for the first time since discharge on Thursday 😱 Gonna see if there’s any way that I can somehow manage to convince them to give me a blood check machine much the same as diabetics use, but to check my INR levels. Not hopeful though.
  19. Year of polo, what engine is in it? Were the fuel lines disconnected? Has the timing and tension been checked and doubles checked?
