  1. Going for the cheapest part isn’t always the best idea. Stick you hand in your pocket and get the correct part for your car, otherwise the old saying of buy cheap, buy twice might bite you in the derrière …..
  2. Maybe different mounting points, slight different shapes / curvature etc
  3. That the shortest long story I think I’ve ever read
  4. You haven't mentioned if you have checked the drop-links, ARB d-bushes, springs or track-rods or steering arm/inner tie-rods??
  5. That was what was in my mind, yeah 👍
  6. Wasn’t one of the last mk1’s registered in 2009, therefore making this mk2? as it’s a 2010? Better still, post a pic of the car
  7. It’s not out of the realms of possibility that the egr has gone again in all honesty. Is this an intermittent problem? When it occurs have you tried switching the engine off and on again? If so, did this sort it, even if temporarily? Where exactly did you get “when plugged in error code is coming up with Turbo bost.” from and can you post the code that related to this? The first code you posted related to injectors…. Has any investigation happened for that code? Or is that why the cam sensor was changed, so you know?
  8. Jeez, you’re not making this easy for us! The new code you’ve given looks like it relates to egr valve. Still not a turbo specific code. Have a read; https://www.obd-codes.com/p2425 The flashing glow plug I believe is your cars version of an engine management light coming on. Maybe someone who knows this model better may be able to confirm this. Regardless, the ecu has detected an issue with the engine management and has put it in limp mode, hence not going over 30mph.
  9. Quick google search doesn’t bring up turbo, but this …. Also pretty sure a 2010 Fabia is mk2
  10. Help us a little(!) what is the code?!
  11. What, you wouldn’t pay £125k for a skoda …. What’s wrong with you man
  12. See the below …. The left disc is a solid one, which sounds like you need, but the one on the right is a vented disc, which won’t fit your brake system … ignore all the word and prices, just look at the actual discs shown 😛
  13. It’s a photo that does not appear to represent what you’re buying as the text states “solid disc” which the picture is not… the disc shown in the pic is 100% a vented disc.
  14. Can’t see it making any difference whatsoever TBH. As long as they’re out of UV light source and not stored so with the weight going through the tyre then I’m sure they’ll be fine You sound just like my great uncle, until he left the service and immediately went to the opposite end of the scale
  15. You guys are making me look bad …. Took my winter wheels off last time I actually needed them and simply chucked them in the basement at the mother in laws 😊
  16. Anyone seen the Netflix documentary “The Root Cause”? That’s very much worth a watch and very insightful to just how getting infections in your mouth (OK, in root canals) in certain places can lead to certain conditions within the body. There were several women who all had an infection in the same tooth and later all diagnosed with breast cancer. Not selling it, I’m sure(!) but shocked the cr@p out of me!
  17. I don’t want to spend silly money as I just don’t how much I would actually play after recovery. Don’t get me wrong, as a teenager I was an avid gamer, but priorities change as you get old and just don’t play it that much anymore. Still got a few weeks to ponder over this and appreciate the food info you guys have passed on 👍
  18. You're not being thick at all. Infections in the mouth have a direct feed to you heart, which can then attack the heart valve and destroy it. This happened to me in 2015, a condition called endocarditis and eventually turned in to full blow septicaemia. Having a full mouth checkup, including differing types of X-rays, will ensure that there is no pre-existing or potential future problems and / or infections that could ultimately destroy a new valve very quickly.
  19. Wouldn’t have that, I’m a Pump Duse kinda guy….. but I am already “chipped”
  20. I dunno…. I’ve seen his work first hand so may be able to work on my heart 😛
  21. Plenty of topics on here about timing belt change schedules. General opinion is either follow the VW / Skoda schedule or take a risk. If you search you will find people who have left it longer than the quoted change times and been ok. Others, such as myself, have not been so lucky. OK, I have a different Diesel engine than what is in yours, but all same same but different. The question to ask yourself is simple..... what's more affordable; cam belt & WP change at the times suggested or have to pay to fix the damage as a result of a snapped cam belt if you were indeed unlucky?? Mine snapped 3 weeks after the 4 year change period on my ASZ engine but had only covered around 26k in those 4 years, which is well below the 4yrs or 60k service schedule for mine. Cost me £500 in the end for a new cam belt, water pump and some new valves, but it was all fitted for free (after kicking off) as I had actually asked for my belt to be replaced at 4 years but was told by the senior tech that it wasn't due until 5 years! Would have been in excess of £1k otherwise (head off & strip to get the bent valves out, new head gasket, head bolts etc etc) Would loved to have seen his face the morning he walked in to work to see my car dumped out the front of the garage with the belt snapped
  22. Vented discs are designed to dissipate heat better than solid discs. As are drilled and / or grooved discs. Whether they fit your car or not I can’t answer. However, my guess would be that as the vented discs will be deeper than the solid discs I suspect they won’t without a change of calliper and carriers? Hopefully, someone more knowledgeable on your setup will come along soon enough.
  23. Day 6 in the big brother house Dentist went ok…. But a wisdom tooth is stuck behind a tooth that may cause an issue later down the line, so they’ve decided to not mess around and take it out tomorrow. Almost immediately after getting back to my bed I had a visit from the surgeon. Happy days as it turns out that it will be the same specialist who operated on me back in 2015. Very reassuring as he is one of the, if not THE best in the entire country for what I need doing. The conversation went mostly well, but of course he was less simplistic about what is gonna and could happen compared to my consultant cardiologist. There is a chance that they may not be able to to this “Ross Procedure” and therefore have to give thought about what my second choice of valve replacement is going to be. Unfortunately, it’s ultimately looking like a mechanical valve is the only viable second choice. This is far from ideal as would mean taking a nasty blood thinning drug called Warfarin for the rest of my life, coupled with the need to stop playing sports because a heavy knock to my body could result in bleeding and / or dislodgement of the metal valve. I’m also gonna tick like a bomb 24/7 I’ve already come to terms with everything and started to make lifestyle changes irrespective of what type of valve I end up with. They’re gonna give me a week to recover from the tooth extraction, so my operation has been confirmed for the 6th May, a week tomorrow.
  24. Thanks for the reply and feedback on the item I posted, much appreciated. I'll take a proper look at the one you posted in a bit and do some more searching
  25. I would also be pulling out the cornering light as a intermittent warning for that could be that the bulb is on its way out. Look to see if there’s a smidge of blackness on the bulb. Worth the free check.
