  1. Premier league players and their WAGs I expect
  2. After reading your posts I'm left scratching my head failing to see the point of the Golf R lol. The exterior styling on the CS seems much more subtle and motorsport focused than the R, and I always preferred the back -end of the GTI to those overkill quad-tip exhausts on the R. Seems to me the R's for the poseurs and the CS is for the enthusiast. PS: I own the baby GTI, and I would seriously kill for those seats. The steering wheel I have (standard GTI leather) has been described by the press as better than you find a Porsche, so I can only lust after the alcantara version you have
  3. Nice - though I still think the Panamera is a deeply ugly vehicle.
  4. As no laws or highway code rules are being broken, I don't see why the police got involved in this. With police funding levels being what they are, and the levels of performance scrutiny on the police being what they are, I can't see how they would justify sitting on this roundabout pillorising motorists who are acting within the law and thus having ZERO effect on their precious crime stats. Genuine wonder btw.
  5. Hope the Octy driver had brown seat covers.
  6. Surely your friend would be happy to pay for a completely new seat as necessary? Don't mean to sound harsh, but why would you allow smoking in your car? It's disgusting and ruins the resale value, and I've heard smoking is really bad for you, it even says so on the packs apparently!
  7. I've not got good things to say about Kwikfit, and that's just about their tyre fitting which is their core business, let alone what else they offer.
  8. I assume the back seats serve only to allow the vehicle to be listed as a 2+2 to bring the insurance rating down. I know that is the reason the Honda CRZ is listed as such, whilst in the US it is a pure 2 seater having only luggage space where the rear seats are. Mind you, the size of some Americans makes the idea of those rear seats even more ridiculous...
  9. Just bear in mind that those seats in the rear are "seats" in name only, and are not really useable even for kids. Don't know how much you're paying, but the only thing I can really think to look out for, probably obviously, is : check the operation of the roof very carefully, including how water tight it is.
  10. I can only speak from my own experience, but as a car enthusiast I am interested in every aspect of my vehicle, far more than simply just "driving it". Having said that, many of the topics on offer here, such as suspension mods, "chipping", tyre choice etc etc, have a very real bearing on that "driving" experience and often also on the wallet.
  11. Can we please get this engraved in stone and sent to the BBC please, hopefully banging it over their heads to get them to listen!!! SImple and superb analysis.

  14. If they don't make them already, Rhino will make custom designs: http://www.rhinouk.co.uk/
  15. Just saw a really nice Monte on lunchtime stroll. Looked really good in the red with all that piano black trim and the pano roof. Looks much more the part than the outgoing monte now that they've ditched the rear drum brakes.
  16. I disagree. I deliberately didn't go for Climate on my Polo - after getting used to the dial positions on my Citigo I prefered to be able to just KNOW what the setting was basd on where the dials were twisted to rather than have to look down at the little display. Also much less fiddly whilst on the move to quickly twist to different settings than tap the tiny buttons on the climatronic, which I had on my previous Fabia. I agree that the cabin doesn't look as good with the "old-fashioned" dials, but I feel they make up for it in terms of practicality.
  17. Mine were covered under warranty which I casually mentioned on an annual service, though I'm guessing from 2012 that's now out of the question.
  18. "One thing I cannot stand, is car drivers who try to block bikers from filtering through slow moving or stationary traffic. That's just plain mean, and very bad manners." I'll always do this. A few weeks ago a bike chipped a door mirror casing by clipping it with his handlebars as he barged past me through a very narrow gap between two stationary traffic columns. He acknowledged my angry toot on the horn by a waving sorry and leaving me to foot the bill...
  19. I heard that little riddle a few years ago and it usually baffles people. Love it.
  20. The Ludicrous button on the Tesla was my fave moment of last night's show. Sabine grows on me each week, loved her bits in the challenge segment. I timed it perfectly last night started watching the recording at 8:15 and thus able to FF completely through the celeb segment which made the show just about perfect.
  21. Anthony Joshua was the t Anthony Joshua was the taller one. He's an MBE, current IBF World Heavyweight boxing champion, and won gold for Britain at the 2012 London olympics in the super heavyweight division. Don't know who the little guy was, but he had a very big mouth.
  22. I was thinking about the whole Daily Mail driven fuss over the Cenotaph as the Ken Block piece went out, and I was thinking how, had it been left in, would it really have even been noticed if last night was the first we saw of it? I don't think so. Bearing in mind that the Cenotaph, far from being in some leafy enclave but rather stranded in the middle of a very busy main road, would hardly have been noticed amongst all the tyre smoke. I thought that was a big fuss about nothing stoked up by the Daily Mail et al as yet another oppotunity to attack the BBC. See also Sachsgate.
