  1. I still love my Citigo, and still have it for a few months yet. It's always plenty of fun, especially once you're "up to speed" as it were - corners like its on rails. My wife hates driving it for all the reasons I love it, the connected-mark-1-Mini-ness of feeling the drivetrain at work through the car, the snappy gearchange, the exposed metal inside the car.
  2. Camlep - excuse me if there is another thread somewhere which I haven't seen, but my order was accepted today for a new Polo GTI. I've requested March 1st delivery to get the new plate, but will be ready in February (current 14 week wait so I'm told). Suits me fine coming out of winter rather than heading into winter with a new car. Wasn't sure if you had ordered one, were still ordering one, or simply spent too much tuning the 'go!
  3. The Polo was a no brainer for me. Skoda aren't doing anything to float my boat at the moment. Last 2 Seat dealers I've visited have been really rude. I like a bit of exclusivity, and every other Fiesta you see these days seems to be an ST. Certainly probably evidence for how good a car it is. I also promised myself I'd never have another Ford (since an XR2 in the early 90s).
  4. The wait is at my request to a degree. Officially 14 weeks on a factory order. If you want one now, I know that Parway in Derby have a few in stock. In my case, I want a shiny new car coming out of winter rather than going into one
  5. Just ordered Polo myself. White 3 door for under £200 a month on 2 year deal. Delivery 1st March.
  6. The Citigo will be the car she'll fall in love with given the choice. I think.
  7. On your test drive, did they actually chuck you the keys and let you rag it? I remember when I test drove the Fabia vRS they only let me out with a salesman who sat there looking not too impressed at any hard cornering or braking.
  8. My Citigo has been on the road for nearly 2 years. Never ever noticed any muck spray that would benefit from having mud flaps. Not ready to turn into my dad just yet by fitting them either
  9. Totally agree. I'm not generally a fan of the Serpens wheels, but they always look great on a black Sport.
  10. "Also, why would Skoda choose, other than the rather obvious answer - to be cheapskate, to supply non-premium tyres?" Although not perhaps as well known in the UK, I thought Falken were a pretty premium brand - I know they are known for doing high performance oriented stuff...
  11. Rapid looks good in blue on those rays matey, not to mention slammed.
  12. I found the tiniest dab of margarine on the inside of the new pedal turned it from being a nightmare to just slipping on really easy.
  13. It's one for the Skoda owners who use Grindr.
  14. It's a bargain basement car at the end of the day, as much as we love 'em. Don't waste money on this stuff which you'll never see again come trade in. (I wanted the convenience pack but took a car already in the system for a faster delivery, and in all honesty haven't looked back since).
  15. Why? My wife has a new Note, but we looked at the Jazz also before deciding. Similar price, same segment, similar quality, same practicality. What are you getting at?
  16. Does the Skoda have a "my other car is a Porsche" sticker?
  17. Those crazy Czechs sure have some wild marketing ideas. I also assume Hyphons is joking.
  18. Genuine Skoda ones on eBay that DO integrate with the PID and are half the price you mentioned to boot. The garage are fleecing you mate. My next question is "are they painting them for you" as they won't come colour coded and will stick out like a sore thumb otherwise. Unless you have health reasons I'd suggest ditching the idea and living without them.
  19. I guess a £25K supermini isn't on many people's shopping lists.
  20. I guess I'm purely going by the way I usually behave in cars that don't belong to me, hire cars etc. Especially fast one. Usually rag them to hell and back. Not sure how many press GTIs there are in the UK. Nearly every review I've trawled through (and I've read a lot of coverage of it) the cars were test driven in Valencia, with most reviews using the standard VW press shots for illustration.
  21. Briskoda stickers! Welcome to Citigo ownership.
  22. So not cars you'd really want to own after being driven to death by all and sundry including "journalists".
  23. Totally agree with this post and comments regarding petrol engines etc. The ACT engine in a new Monte Carlo version would be an attractive package without being a full blown vRS which Skoda seem to be shying away from. For me though, prices are just silly when up against more premium metal, and my staying with Skoda is looking less likely these days with the choice on offer.
  24. Are there really used ones already. I was told there were no customer cars in the country until April time.
